    Veggie quiche with coleslaw
    Shani J.

This is such a sweet little restaurant! I came in as soon as it opened, and I was soon joined by a few other parties that had been waiting outside for the doors to open. It was so cozy, and inviting and I couldn't wait to dig into the menu. I ordered an iced tea and asked for sweetener, and my server told me she would make a simple syrup mixture for me so it would blend easier in the drink. I love that! Simple touches that are thoughtful, and make your visit so much better. I ordered a vegetable quiche, and unfortunately, I didn't really like it. It was prepared well, but I think it was just one of those things that just isn't for me. It wasn't bad enough to turn me away, there were several other things I would like to try on the menu, but quiche just sounded good to me that day. They only take cash, but also said they would take a check that I could mail to them when I got home. That was so nice, but I didn't trust my memory to do that, so I went to the gas station next door to the ATM.

    Cucumber Gazpacho

Currently the place is only open for lunch between 11 and 2 on weekdays, so I hadn't been able to visit until a couple of weeks ago. First things first, the location was in the older (but relatively safe) part of town with a lot of older buildings and closed businesses nearby. The restaurant itself was in an old unassuming store. The first thing I noticed walking in was that the tables and chairs were all different and mismatched, the silverware too. Honestly this was the first restaurant I've visited with such random set up, and it actually felt homy in a quirky way. The menu was short, but it listed uncommon fares and it relied heavily on daily specials, which was great because that means it would change from day to day. I picked the cucumber gazpacho while my wife got the mushroom soup. My gazpacho showed up with a real flower in it, which was a complete and pleasant surprise. The taste was just the right shade of refreshing, and the mushroom soup was really nice too. For the main course I picked the portobello with shrimp and crab because I love seafood and I have never had this particular meal before. It tasted great, about as great as it looked, as it was also garnished with real flowers. The missus' quiche was also wonderful. I rarely order desert, but considering the unique menu I just had to order one out of curiosity. Desert for the day was their special cheesecake pulled out of the oven moments ago. They had to chill it first because otherwise it would have been too hot to enjoy. The cheesecake didn't disappoint, and served as a satisfying finish. Overall this was a solid five-star experience from a local family restaurant. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to visit again. Oh, they only take cash (and probably check if you're a regular). Remember this so you don't get caught unprepared, although there's a Wells Fargo bank branch & ATM about 250 yards east.

The food is delicious. Parking is a challenge and they only take cash but those minor inconveniences are worth it.

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. If you have a special occasion, GO. Life is short--take the road trip to South Bend just for Roselily. The menu changes so I'll be back every chance I get! My only actual complaint? The owner wasn't there for me to beg him to open a second location in Lexington, KY!

We did the six-course chef's tasting with wine pairings and every single course delivered. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and incredibly well-balanced, and the wine pairings elevated everything even further. You can tell there is real thought and precision behind every detail--from the menu to the pacing of the meal. And the ambiance was a total vibe! But what truly made the experience stand out was the service. The team struck that rare balance of being both highly professional and genuinely warm. Nothing felt scripted. It felt personal. When they learned we were close to graduating from our MBA program, they surprised us with a menu signed by the entire staff, filled with handwritten notes of encouragement. One simply said, "Follow your dreams." That moment will stick with me forever: core memory unlocked. This is the kind of detail you do not forget. This is not just a great restaurant--it is a full experience. I would absolutely put Roselily at Michelin-star level. If you appreciate thoughtful, elevated dining with exceptional service, this place is worth going out of your way for. We will be back for sure!

Everyone was so kind and hospitable. The restaurant itself was very cozy and I enjoyed being there. As far as food, I loved everything I ate. You drive up to the awning and a valet opens the gates for you to park. We had reservations. It was very crowded. I am told it's not typically that crowded. It was hard to hear it was so loud. Menu is large. Prices are higher. Be ready. I got the large chopped salad. It wasn't that large for $18. I changed out the dressing to ranch because I did not want the garlic salad dressing. Glad I did. The salad was ok. The salami was smokey it added to the veggies. But for the price it was small and disappointing. 2 people got the prime rib sandwich and it was pretty sloppy. It's better to eat with a knife and fork. I was told it was good. The sweet potato fries have cayenne pepper on them. The chopped salad with tofu was also disappointing. The tofu had a weird bbq type sauce. The server was nice and she was fine. The atmosphere is more high scale. Just disappointed in the taste of the food and portion to cost. Cool experience being on campus but you're paying for it.

Yeah, I did a Grubhub order and I gave very specific instructions on everything that I needed…read morebecause I have a broken back, a sinus infection and a viral infection so I end up with a guy banging on my door demanding a code that I never received which is not taphouse on the edge's fault, but I requested very specific things like a sandwich be cut in half and crispy, tater tots and extra napkins and etc., etc. and receiving none of it and I went so far to call the restaurant to let them know about it and the manager pretty much said well there's not much we can do about it or that was the attitude so I said I'll never order from you again and I won't. Because my order is wrong and it's their fault. It's called accountability. I will never order this again from this restaurant. Or anything from this restaurant again based on the way that they didn't make it right. I even went so far to call back a second time and got excuses as to why they include onion, tomato and lettuce in an order that is excluded on tomato, onion, and lettuce. Onion makes me sick and everything had an onion flavor to it so I spent $20 at Grubhub to not have dinner and when I tried to explain that to the manager, she said well so many people get upset because it says that it comes with that. So I told her I said that's fine. I told her that I'm got these things going on and it's not her fault the Grubhub delivery driver isn't her fault, but the reason that the order was wrong on several different levels, not cut in half no mail on the sandwich not extra pickles not extra napkins, not extra salt, etc. etc. and everything tasted like onions so of course I don't wanna eat it and I got excuses so I told her I won't use her restaurant again and she said OK. I would recommend that she don't go there because they don't fix things when they screw them up. I have no intention of ordering or going to that restaurant ever again. And it's funny because my nephew used to work there and I used to love the place. Well I guess I'm done with it.
