I expected to see more younger folks singing but it was mostly a Boomer night. Service is always great and tonight was no different. My only (recurring) complaint is how does a place that prides itself as an Irish Pub serve ICE COLD Guiness. I knew this from past experiences, so I ordered a Guiness with my martini and let it sit a good twenty minutes but it was still cold by the time our dinners were served. Bar seats were at a premium until after the dinner rush. Then it opened up a bit. Pool table is always busy when I have been there. Im sure we will return, but Im not sure I will order any more Guiness until they get serious about serving a proper stout.

We were greeted and sat by a pretty young lady named Kat (I'm just guessing that it's spelled with a 'K'), who said she was tired and at the end of her shift, but was still full of energy and very sweet. She went on to answer our questions about the seafood bar and about the menu too... The seafood bar was small but full of great seafood choices! The interior was fitting for the area, well lit, had wood paneling, a large bar and plenty of seating. Also, since it is a bar, the urinals were made from old kegs... A cool addition and an 'up cycle' idea. Food... I was hoping for some Irish dishes, but because they closed early for the holiday, they kept the menu limited, so I opted for the next best thing, a big ol' burger, salad, and a bowl of clam chowder, which is not common where I live. The clam chowder was full of clams and vegetables, but not tomatoey at all. It tasted as good as it looked. The side salad was large, fresh and refreshing. My burger was just how I like it... Thick, juicy, flavorful, and spicy! I order mine med rare, Blackened, with jalapeños, bacon and cheddar, lettuce, tomato and onions on top, then add hot sauce. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area and try some other things.

Breakfast menu with variety of Pancakes, French Toast, Waffles, choice of Omelette Combinations. Kids menu kind of pricey around $8 for a single waffle served with a drink. Pancakes were big and fluffy, just perfect. Waffles and French Toast came with powdered sugar - so if you prefer no powdered sugar, say so upfront. Husband ordered a bacon, cheese omelette with well done has browns. He loved it. Monte Cristo sandwich loaded with turkey and ham. Just the right savory and sweet on French toast. Service was alright. Had to ask for things but when asked it was responsive. Just kind of wished they could anticipate rather than have to ask for stuff like more napkins, to go box, check. A decent place to eat for breakfast.

The early bird specials had a few choices to pick from. All were $14.95. It comes with a soup or salad, a soda and a dessert. The cream of turkey soup was very delicious tasted like a liquid thanksgiving. Definitely a go to when you come here. The chicken parm was ok. The sauce was on the sweet side they didn't give much sauce either. Definitely had better chicken parm from other places. But good for the price. The fish and chips were good. Had a nice crunch with moist flaky fish in the middle. The fries were also good as well. The chicken stir fry was the best tasting dish chicken was tender and moist with a variety of vegetables over rice tossed in a light teriyaki sauce. Flavorful and tasty. The portion sizes are perfect they give you a lot. Great place for a low budget meal. Would love to come back and try other menu items.

You don't want to miss the funky and eclectic offerings and "if you're here you're family" atmosphere. Our first visit was for a late breakfast at about 11am on a rainy Sunday of a holiday weekend, so it wasn't surprising that the was a short wait. When the hostess said 20-30 minutes someone else in line immediately responded "it's worth the wait" and I agree. I had the The Waffle Slamwich "alternating layers of bacon, sausage, pork roll, egg & cheese between Belgian waffles with bourbon butter maple syrup." I ordered has browns because I saw an order come out and they looked really good. They were, but we're also unnecessary. The Slamwich was more than enough and I'm a big eater. My wife had French toast and a side of bacon. The portion was also generous but she ate it all som it must have been good. I forgot to ask because I was so busy enjoying the many flavors of my meal. The sweetness of the waffle and syrup perfectly offsetting the salty breakfast meats. Coffe was good, too, and obviously fresh. And my cup was 'magically' refilled every time I set it down. We're planning a trip back for lunch...but not today...still full. Guy says "if it's funky I'll find it" but do yourself a favor and find Lacy Diner first, before word gets around, or you might not get a seat.

From the moment we walked in, the counter staff greeted us warmly and let us pick our seats. The diner itself is charming, decorated with a fun I Love Lucy theme that gives it a cozy, nostalgic vibe. The menu has all the diner classics you'd hope for, plus some creative twists (fried PB&J, anyone?). They also offer a rotating specials menu, which keeps things exciting. I ordered the coffee flight, funnel cake French toast, home fries, and bacon. The coffee flight alone was worth the trip--delicious flavors, beautifully presented, and only $8.99. The funnel cake French toast was light, airy, and cooked to perfection--it really felt like I was eating a funnel cake for breakfast. My boyfriend went for the country fried chicken with gravy and biscuits, and it was equally delicious. Throughout our visit, the staff checked in often and made us feel like family. We noticed they seemed to know every regular by name, and there were plenty coming in during the short time we were there--a sure sign of a beloved local spot. We'll absolutely be back, and we highly recommend The Lacey Diner to anyone in the area looking for a great breakfast experience!

And, no I am not awarding four stars for the service approach towards diners ... she did refill my coffee mug once and then surprisingly just took the creamers away without asking (I drink my coffee black but she didn't know that.). Clearly she has favorites because the guy in the booth next to me got the lovey-dovey "hon" treatment. The Sand Castle has a feeling of having been worn down by the waves through the years type of place because many of the booth chairs and counter chairs exhibit wear and even more than a few tears. On a cold November Saturday morning I could feel the chill as I sat in my booth sipping my coffee (And, I wasn't anywhere close to the front door.). So onto the four stars ... but don't say I didn't warn you about service and ambiance. Well, it feels like a shore diner and I like that feel but yea worn out a bit. Quite awhile ago stopped by for dinner and the food was really good with lots of tempting options. I always judge diners by their soup and the soup was top notch! Our meals were enjoyable at a reasonable price. And, then I just forgot to review the diner. But decided to return for breakfast today after a long Friday night. Coffee arrived promptly and was really decent coffee but the amazing part of my breakfast was how quickly the really wall prepared omelette was served. It was like in the blink of any eye and for many a promptly delivered breakfast meal is a real plus (I appreciated it!!!!). Although the waitress really didn't want to be bothered with me the rather short diner breakfast menu had the classics and that quickly prepared omelette was a tasty WESTERN. The homefries were really good ... actually they were great even without onions in them (Waitress never asked if I'd like onions and rushed away so I didn't ask but these potatoes didn't need onions.). Toast was toast and the jam/jelly selection was universally grape jelly with one orange marmalade. A very good breakfast and I wasn't here to make friends just to warm up ooops ok, so I didn't warm up but the coffee helped, and to do some work. Still worth the food if you're in the neighborhood!
