The cheesesteak on the menu right now! Chefs kiss! I wish they had jalapeños, though. It's the only thing it's missing. Happy hour is 11:30-4pm, food and drink specials, except recently they've been out of a lot on the drink menu. There is an unfortunate 3% credit card surcharge that'll add quite a bit to your bill. We had a great night at PineTar last night! Our waitress, Tanya, was fantastic and attentive. The atmosphere is always inviting. My kids are entertained between the pool table and the basketball games. The food was delicious. Their scarpariello wings are phenomenal--like lick the plate good!! The chicken parm sandwich is delicious as well as the wraps and cheesesteak!! You can't go wrong with the menu. I feel really awful writing this update but unfortunately it's true. I liked the place under the original owners. The menu was limited bit not this limited. If you ate gluten free it's not for you. We went on a Friday during a holiday week lent so I only have myself to blame but very limited choices. They discontinued a few entries and salads and it made a difference. They used to have a good cocktail menu. Not now. Wait staff is still great I hope for the best for them but I wont be back. read more

Pretzel burger was great but the fried chicken sandwich with hot honey.....best I ever had...amazing! Staff: super friendly and extremely accommodating. So we decided to give the new owners a try. Arrived at 5:15 and the restaurant was empty and only 2 people at the bar. Hmmmm. We ordered a buffalo wrap and a cheesesteak. The food was good and that was a relief because our experience with the former ownership was not great. Two things ended up pulling down the overall experience. First, we were charged for Cavit pinot grigio yet were served Sutter Home--big difference! Then, the server told us we could swap out fries for onion rings on one order. Turns out there is an upcharge for onion rings. Not a big deal but don't tell customers they can swap out without telling them there is an upcharge. Rather shady. We most likely would have gone for the rings and upcharge if we had been told BUT, not being told when she is the one who suggested it....cringey. We would have left with a much improved feeling about the restaurant if not for the two shady business practices. C'mon, $9 for Sutter Home??? If you wanna charge me for Cavit, give me Cavit. Unbelievable. It is a full bar, why are you doing individual bottles, btw?? Not inclined to go back even though the food was good. $9 for wine during happy hour....sad. read more

This is a nice place to relax and grab a bite. The mood is mellow and inviting, even while wearing an opposing teams gear. The food has been above par on my last 2 visits and the customer service was great. Greeted and seated quickly with a friendly "hello" from the girl tending the bar. Our drinks and food were out quickly with no issues. Paid the bill fast and on our way. Ps. "Thinny thin crust" was very good. Will go again soon. read more

Would NOT recommend. Went in and we were one of the only people at the bar at 6 o'clock on a Friday night-not a good sign. Ordered their "famous" pizza which was a Parmesan crisp with some marinara and to top it off the garlic shaker for the pizza had a fly in it!! The bartender was okay until it took him a while to get back and then added someone else's check on to our making our bill $40 more then it should of been. On their website it says Trivia every Friday but it was cancelled Just a bad experience over all. The ambiance was a total sports bar which wasn't bad-kinda cool. I can see how regulars would be treated great but not one/first timers. Will not be back read more

Came here when it first opened and wanted to give it a second chance so glad I did. The scarparielli wings were amazing. They should make them a dinner special with rice and some veggies. The hotdog was also great. The waitress suggested the wing flavor she was awesome. They have a very nice outdoor seating area will come again on a nice day. Tried this place again after a year or so. Still not great. Burger was so-so. Pretzel bun was not fresh. Tgis had to be a frozen patty. Beer cheese sauce was thick and glue-y. Fries were good. Beer was good. Other diner had a chicken cutlet sandwich but said it was rather dry. Wont rush back. Only 2 tables on a Froday night I guess should have been telling. read more

I've been going to the pine tar for 3 years and it was great. Tonight I went and had to pay a $25 cover and there were maybe 10 other people there sitting at the bar. It was not worth it in the slightest and they said they will be charging a $25 cover every Saturday. Not worth it. read more

Full disclosure: I was visiting from Virginia. My niece's husband is a bar tender here. This was my first time eating here. If I did not like the place or the food I would not be writing a review at all. So, there's that. But I have to tell you, if you go, ask for Jamie. You will absolutely love him. Totally affable. You won't be ignored at the bar. My dinner: penne pasta with cannellini beans, white wine sauce and shrimp. Shrimp were perfectly cooked, great flavors!!! Flavor to savor. It's been a year since my last visit here. The Pie was originally the main attraction (See my first review) then it got worse; stopped going. Heard it got better - it didn't! They claim to have the "Famous Thinny Thin" pie, but that is an Angeloni's trade mark pie. Yes they are related family wise, it appears no one from Angeloni's wil ltech them how to make a Thin Crustless pie! If you want to drink, it's a bar; if you want some apps. like Fried Mozzarella, or wings - they are pretty good overall BUT if it's a Good Pizza your are looking for - Look Elsewhere! I was hired to bartend here, trained and put on the schedule. I even attended a staff meeting at 9:00 pm and then after a friend and fellow staff member quit; I was mysteriously taken off the schedule. I received zero communication or explanation from my manager and even after I went in to speak with the manager face to face they were still unable to provide any explanation. I never received a paycheck from the shifts I worked and realize that I never will. As someone who has been in the restaurant industry for 20 years and who has managed multiple different restaurants and businesses I have to say how appalled I am at the conduct and ownership of this establishment. The owner "Pinetar Tommy" was never present at the restaurant and obviously takes zero amount of pride in actually running his establishment. I highly suggest you drive right past this place and dine elsewhere. And if you're looking for a job... well don't get one here unless you want to be completely mistreated. Needed a late dinner out last night and my usual joint - Breakers - had just closed their kitchen. Bartender recommended PineTar..."good pizza" she said. I'm on that low carb diet where all you eat is pasta and bread, so she had me. Opted for the Chicken Savoy with roasted potatoes for the side. I mumbled and got the chicken with a big bowl of penne in a thick, rich, not-too-sweet marinara - topped with a big barata dollop. What's not to like? Add a good meet & greet with Paul the bartender, and The Chef, who I chatted with, complimented, and did not change names with. There're only so many slots on my Christmas card list... Yeah no but the food was on the money, priced reasonably, and way bigger servings than I could possibly get through alone. Great place to share a couple of apps and a main. Now if this place was busy with a lot of full tables I could understand... BUT, we were a table of 12 and there was a table of 4 leaving when we sat down and a booth of 4 and another table of 4. Awful experience. We will never be going back. What a waste of money. The brisket was definitely BOILED and not put on a grill or smoker. The "burnt ends" were just cut up pieces of the boiled brisket slices. The mac n cheese was a bowl of salt. The cord bread could have knocked someone out if you threw at them, and the cole slaw was dry as a bone. For $80.00 i would expect more. Definitely will be going back to Caffreys. A beer battered shrimp po-boy had a strong lemon taste. When we asked they said it had no lemon in the dish. So there has to be an issue with something. It tasted off. Well, we tried it but won't likely be back. The brisket was very fatty, the Mac and cheese had under cooked noodles and the sauce I think was Velveta. My wife had a breaded chicken filet that had been pounded thin and breaded to add column but substance was lacking. The coleslaw was pretty good though. my friend and I got there at 11:30 we ordered the thin pizza we dint get it until 12:20 the bottom was not cooked and the top was burnt we dint know which was more burnt the cheese or the crust then it wasn't even cut we sent it back and got the nachos instead that came out in like 5 minutes it came in a soup bowl and we couldn't figure out what the slimy stuff was on the chips looked like nacho soup i did give waitress good tip wasn't her fault what we ordered was not good yes we will never go back there read more
