I have been shopping at Kroger at 5021 Teasley Lane in Denton, Texas, for years and am a loyal Kroger Rewards Mastercard card member. This was my favorite store! I was at Kroger on Saturday, May 22 and had an issue. In the past, Kroger has always been very good at helping their customers and keeping them happy. This time the store manager, Rhonda Hastings, came and she was very rude and unprofessional! This is the first time I had met her. She belittled me and talked down to me. I was embarrassed! She is a RACIST!!! I'm Korean American in my 60s. The more I think about the way she treated me, the more upset I get. She really enjoyed humiliating me in public. My friend, who is a white male, had the same issue and was treated very nicely by Kroger. I will not give my business to this Kroger until they eliminate their racist store manager. I am warning all my AAPI family and friends of my experience, so they will never have to endure the pain I did. #StopAsianHate read more

I am deeply disturbed by what I saw today while shopping at this Kroger. While standing and waiting at the deli counter I noticed swarms of flies all around. Flies were landing on the "fresh" tortillas that were coming out of the tortilla maker and cooling off while the employee did nothing to protect the food. Flies were also landing on the just cut deli meat while it was sitting on the scale. We had to ask for that part to be thrown away, and after thinking about it more we ended up leaving the lunch meat. It didn't bother the employees that there were flies getting all over customers food. Bottom line it was very very gross and extremely unsanitary. I will never shop there again. read more

This store has been a constant let down almost since the day it opened. Started out with much fanfare and I actually used to brag about how cool "my grocery store" was. It's still the same place, but produce is always under stocked or poor quality. Many things on the shelf either out of date or about to expire. And don't even try to get help with the steaks and fresh seafood. You will be ignored. A few months back, some genius in management decided it would be a good idea to rearrange the store. Still haven't found some items and no one there seems to know where they are either. The layout and grouping of items doesn't flow or make any sense at all. The remodeled store on 288 is a much better choice. read more

This is my local Kroger so its advantage is that it is close by. Like others have said the produce is mediocre at best and sometimes worse. The cashiers have experienced some turnover and the remaining ones are less pleasant. The fuel points are what gives me value but produce shopping is done elsewhere. read more

Nice clean Kroger, lots of staff that are very knowledgeable and helpful. Have good quality Natural Salmon and Tuna Steaks daily. Great choices for vegetables and fruits. Produce is always very fresh looking. Lots of Boars Head products and they have a sushi bar (if you like grocery store sushi). Nice well kept olive bar. Parking lot is also well lit at night and they do a good job of keeping up with the carts. Make sure a get your Kroger plus/membership card so you get the best price, you do not have to carry it with you, just use your phone number as a ALT ID. Overall a very nice grocery store that usually saves me from having to drive to Flower Mound to Sprouts or Lewisville for Market Street. read more

They're well stocked, but their staff seems very unprofessional for the most part.. and obviously miserable. It's not as clean as it used to be.. I often had to go through 2 packages of eggs before I find one that doesn't have any broken or cracked eggs. read more

This Krogers is one of the better ones in Denton in my books. They offer olive bar, pretty well stocked international dry foods, plenty of organic fruits, vegetables, cereals, canned products, and beauty products. I much appreciate that they do carry Muir Glen tomato products, Valbreso Feta, Parmesan Reggiano, My 1% organic Horizon milk (in Denton, only found at Krogers). Save me a lot of trips to WF or CM. :) read more

Everything her is up to Kroger standard, great service. But where I really fell in love with this location was dealing wit Sonia at bakery for a custom cake. One of best cakes I've ever had, and I'm not a sweets person, so it must bet good. She was friendly, creative and enthusiastic with the custom design and made us feel that our special occasion was just as exciting to her. And all for $14.99 for an 8" round. We'd been from another bakery that tried to charge us $40 for the same cake and tried to swindle us out of another $30 to pipe one simple custom detail. Not Sonia! I would give the meat department zero if possible. Just left the Corinth store after 1 of the 6 folks working on meats refused to cut me a thicker steak. At 4:05 pm, said no. No one there who can cut a steak. I was the only customer at counter .w 3 white coat meat dept workers behind counter and 3 white coat meat dept staff in front chatting with each other. We went to Kroger a little after 10, and we saw chocolate covered strawberries at the bakery. It closed at 9, so we asked an associate if someone could go there to get them for us. He said that someone could and he'd send someone over. After waiting a bit, a lady walked over. She had brunette hair in a ponytail and looked rather bored, much like she didn't want to be there. Her safety vest, which should've been worn, was very messily in her back pocket, making it useless. Her name tag was not being worn. She came over at us and snapped "no free samples" assuming we were freeloading. We said we wanted to buy some and she immediately said she couldn't since it wasn't her department. This is a lie as my friend works at a different kroger and said that it is common for associates to be in departments that aren't theirs. On our way out, we saw her talking to an employee, inside, no doing carts, which was her department, on her phone. read more

I have to agree with Angie.. I like the store and a lot of the thought put into its layout and it is well stocked, BUT the staff has not been tasked with giving the customer a positive experience... I was in there today.. I discovered milk and eggs on the end cap right next to the registers.. guess what I was there for, milk and eggs... awesome.. so, I let the cashier know how awesome that was.. she just looked at me, took my money, and went back to talking with another cashier who standing around with seemingly nothing to do talking about how he was getting paid to cashier but working as a bagger.. he wasn't doing that either.. this is in no way an isolated incident for myself or my wife and reflects a lack of good management policies (or at least their execution)... this WILL easily cause us to take our business elsewhere.. and guess what Kroger management, it won't be long before you aren't the only store nearby. read more

The Starbucks in this Kroger has THE BEST customer service ever! The lady who is always working there is very nice.

I enjoy shopping at this store. I have to go out of my way to get here, but it is worth it. It has higher quality products than large discount stores, but their prices are good. They have lots of sales. I am hard to please when it comes to beef steak, and their meat is of a high quality I was looking for fiberglass cleaner and the person stocking the shelves helped me look and when we couldn't find any, he started using his phone to look on line to see if he saw any there that we may have missed. The customer service is very good, the people are great, and the products and prices are also great! The gas is a good price, too!!! read more

wow.I mean.just wow.I saw an ad a while back for fuel clerk needed@loop 288 location. I applied online (it was a thirty minute labyrinth of dilbert questions and verifications, I sent it off and forgot about it for a while.a few weeks after I put in the app, I was summoned to a "group interview"at THIS.REMOTE,LOCATION.(seriously, this store is practically in the town of corinth, I mean its got a denton mailing address and is technically in the city limits, but realistically, its in the country,folks.(out by the grandfathered in trailer parks)(denton outlawed trailer parks a while back)-anyhoo.so, I sit thru the team building exercise, the oral collection drug test by the area hiring manager.yep, no same store hiring.and at the end of the hour of my time, I get the if your drug and background check come back clear, that job is not open at the store you applied for -will THIS location be okay? I said its a bit distant, but tolerable.I then asked the rate,it was * get this* $7.60/hr.(supposed;y negotiated by the union.)(texas is a right to work state, I was like, yikes,thats less than wally world pays for the exact same job, without the armtwisting to have union dues extorted.(i didnt say that out loud, tho), anyhoo,I KNOW i passed both the background check, (because two other companies that run criminal background sent me proof on paper) and the drug test, I made a telephone call requesting a written copy of my (non criminal) credit report that may have resulted in my being declined, but so far, no response. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the reason i mention all of this is becuase its related to all the other yelpers notes re, understaffing, and unhappy employees.I happen to know that when wally arrived in denton, many people jumped ship from kroger to get higher pay.I also know that $7.60/hr for fuel desk was insult wages (even in low paying denton) over 20yrs ago. as it happens, I went to the university drive kroger the other day to cash a lottery ticket (hooray), and noticed a sign in the door: now hiring for over 300 vacancies. For Perspective.they are turning down people with life & industry experience, after making them go thru ridiculous steps to even GET possibly considered for the job, and they wonder why they have so many vacancies in this market?Im no rocket surgeon, but it seems to me if they let store managers have some say in who they hire, theyd get some work done, customer service issues go away. read more

This store customer service is the worst I have ever seen . They also have a serious problem with fruit flies.. Do yourself a favor find another store..Walmart is just down the street and a SPROUTS is going in across the street I cant wait..BYE BYE KROGER..... read more
