I typically go to other Krogers. This one is older and isn't as clean and organized as the newer ones. The prices were normal and the Service was fine. The food choices were good. Just a smaller store. In a good location for that side of town. Very busy strip mall with lots of traffic but also plenty of parking. read more

This Kroger is always clean and stocked, even when they have crazy deals going on. I come here often, as I live in the area. Sometimes the employees aren't the best, usually the younger ones. But the management team is great. I would recommend this Kroger over the neighborhood Walmart any day! read more

Reasons I find myself coming to this Kroger vs. other/downtown locations: - a simple drive from downtown Indy - lots of fresh/healthy options available - generally not crazy busy compared to other Krogers - lots of other surrounding shops (i.e. Aldi and gas stations) Many, many years ago, I did have a bad experience with a customer that was trying to convert me to a certain religion inside the store, but that wasn't Kroger's fault. Very odd experience. It's not the freshest, cleanest Kroger around, but it gets the job done and they usually have what I'm looking for in stock. read more

Although this Kroger is cleaner and more organized than others in the downtown Indianapolis area, sadly they have gone to 80% self checkout lanes. This means there are lines waiting 15+ minutes to check out and you don't really even get the option to have someone help you if you have a lot of groceries. Their self checkout lanes are designed inefficiently if you have a full cart of groceries because you can't take stuff off the rack. Also I asked where an item was in the store (couldn't find it anywhere) and was told by 3 associates there's no way to look it up... lol. read more

Shopping at Kroger was previously a pleasant experience. While their pricing was higher than other grocery stores, the cleanliness, customer service, cart quality and overall quality of food was very good. However, now you deal with personal shoppers banging into you while you shop, disorganized shelves, cart quality is hit or miss, customer service left the store and their pricing is astronomical. I shop at Kroger, Olio and 116th. If you see a manager, you never see them interact with customers, rather they walk around with a smug look on their face as if they are above their shoppers. If I wanted all this BS, I would go to Walmart. For now, I await a better alternative. read more

Not a bad Kroger. But nothing to write home about either. The selection of produce and meat are very limited. And that means the price of the meat isn't very competitive. They all are very friendly and do their best to get you everything you need. It is a clean store and safe place to shop. But i would recommend trying a bigger Kroger with more of a selection. I am typically very skeptical of this Kroger. There was a shooting in this location not too long along. Therefore, I would not go alone and I would not go at night to grocery shop here. I will say that they have since remodeled this store and it is beautiful! What is frustrating about this remodel is that they changed the entire layout. The bread, for example, is located on the entire opposite of the store. This location is very conveniently located. It is right off 31 so it's so easy to get to. The parking lot is large and it is easy to get in and out of. It is also open 24 hours! Convenient!! They have a new and improved alcohol section with chilled wine!! This is location is also very well stocked. I can always find vegetarian "turkey" and other vegetarian/vegan options. The new remodeled also includes more fresh fruits and vegetables. Overall, this is an average Kroger. However, it is definitely improved since the remodel! The convenience of the Kroger is worth the trip alone! read more

Love the convenient location of this Kroger! It is situated right off of Highway 31, close to gas stations, restaurants, and other small stores! This Kroger location has been recently remodeled and what a difference it has made! Things are much easier to find, and I feel it is so much cleaner than it was at one point in time. This tends to be a busy location, so keep that in mind if you are in a rush! This location has a lot to offer, and I love that it is open 24 hours! I am always pleased with their fresh produce section; they have great products that are very reasonably priced! There is also a large variety of fresh meat to choose from. Their bakery area always has fresh products that are presented so well; sometimes I really struggle to pass things up because of how yummy they look! Another unique feature of this location is the section of organic products; there are exclusive aisles and freezers, so the organic things are not scattered throughout the store! During the remodel, their alcohol section definitely got a facelift, so there are more options to choose from and even a small refrigerated section now. When shopping in this store, I do so during daylight hours and typically use the "buddy system". There have been some acts of crime at this location, but I will say they have really stepped up on security and police surveillance recently. Knowing this makes me feel safer while I get my shopping done. Definitely open a Kroger savings card if you do not already have one; there are great deals for rewards card holders!! read more

Ok so I thought Kroger was Kroger, but they do it a little differently in Greenwood. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the freshness of Fresh Thyme, but all I know is this will be my first and last visit here. Why you ask? Well let me tell you about my brief visit: I went about 10:30ish in the morning. This is a 24 hour Kroger, but apparently this is the time to have team meetings and stock shelves. There was only one checkout lane open and it was long. I went only for two items: Almond Milk and lemons. Ummmm...do greenwoodians not drink Almond Milk because I did not see a single carton? Ok, whatevs off to produce for my lemons. Yikes! The lemons were the size of oranges! What kind of GMO foolery is going on out here? It's cool...I will buy organic...Ha! Wrong again! There are no organic lemons. Jeez! Why am I here? I'm hope it's not as bad as it seems, but I just got a bad first impression. I'm sure all the processed foods are as they should be stocked and available at regular Kroger pricing. read more

The easy winner for Kroger in this area. It's a 15 minute drive for me and totally worth it once a week. I live in near Irvington and the Krogers all suck in that area. They each lack something: deli, meat dept, or bakery... This Kroger has it all as well as a greater variety from the meat dept to the wine and kitchen section. I picked up food for week, a toaster and I even found my favorite white wine for under $20, Pine Ridge. One stop, please and thank you. Ignore the drama queens! This place is safe and well lit. Went there tonight and they are suppose to close at 11 and when I went it was 930. They said they were closed. And they had a lot of customers besides myself going into get stuff and they closed an hour and half early I've never had an issue till tonight. What if I needed food for my 1 year old son for the morning or this was the only time I could be able to go shop for food. This is my favorite Kroger b/c they have the best music. Other than that it's just like any other Kroger. I am in the canned vegetable aisle debating over two brands of stewed tomatoes when Journey's "Wheel in the Sky" comes on and I know I should go with the fire roasted. Here I am in the cereal aisle, can't choose. Do I go with the Blueberry Frosted Mini Wheats or screw it and get the Cinnamon Toast Crunch? No need to worry "Cradle of Love" by Billy Idol makes this choice a no brainer; Cinnamon Toast Crunch! It's on to the ice cream novelties! That's when I hear Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Hear". WTF!? What is this store?! If I'm having a bad day and I know I have to go to the store I'm choosing this one hands down. This is my go to Kroger! The store is always clean and the customer service is always on point. All the workers are friendly and ready to help and or assist. If anything the only thing I would say needs improvement is open lanes. This is a fairly busy location. It's open 24hrs so they are extremely convenient and popular as well as busy. The food is fresh and always rotated. I can tell they keep everything up to date by the clearance section. Someone is always out updating prices and produce. They also stay current with their florist department. It's is so wonderful to go into a store knowing you are coming in to buy items to prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You grab your cart and the first thing you see while entering the store is fresh flowers that most of them have been marked down. Might as well grab a bouquet to set the mood of your meal. Also if your a night shopper, the bakery usually mark down the donuts they did not sell that day because they make them fresh. Granted, the ones they mark down are still delicious. This is the BEST Kroger that's close to downtown! I don't like to shop downtown grocery stores because of limited options and much higher prices! Luckily this little gem on the south side isn't too far of a drive and has everything you could want! This place is a vegan's/organic girl/healthy eater's dream considering the exorbitant prices of Whole Foods and Fresh Market. Awesome super food finds: Amy's soups are always on sale, huge collection of granola bars (KIND, Larabar, Pure Organic, Clif, etc), nutritional yeast, bulk organic peanut butter, ground flax seeds, nuts, etc, Justin's PB cups, the list goes on! And somehow they are always having deals on these brands! Another huge plus is the incredible customer service and friendliness of the employees! They are always asking you if you need help or just want you to have a good day! They also have a gas station where you can use your Kroger points! Thank goodness I found this place! read more

This is "my" Kroger. I actually live close to Edgewood and Madison, but I choose this one. I love, love, love the oldness and smallness of the store. I feel like I know it inside and out. I like to shop weekday mornings when the produce man is stocking with a smile. Carolyn is at the register and Charles is bagger. He asks me every time if I need help out. The manager is usually overseeing the registers and jumps in a line if help is needed. There are plenty of "whoo-hoo" sticker deals on all kinds of fresh, organic, natural items. I feel like I come out way ahead by buying up all these stickered items. Customer service is always willing to make things right if a coupon went badly or my receipt is wrong. The Kroger's at South East Street and Hannah on Sunday approximately 3:30. My cashiers name was Alandra. She was very pleasant and helpful. But it was the little girl bagging my purchase that really impressed me. She was very to make sure that my groceries were packed and placed in cart to prevent damage. She over heard me mention i had just had surgery and even though they were very very busy she took the time to help to my vehicle and insisted on loading my groceries into my vehicle. I was so grateful for the help i missed her name. But i will be calling the store to praise her up. read more

Another option for grocery shopping in relative proximity to downtown . Not super convenient but the decent produce and organic foods section makes it worth the drive. They also have something very specific, a blend of coconut/almond milk that I cannot find anywhere else. read more

I am sooo livid right now! My 14 year old son & I went to the Kroger in southern plaza tonight to get groceries for us & for my elderly dad. we had a cart full of groceries. We went to the toilet paper isle where there was plenty of toilet paper but no paper towels. I grabbed 2 packages of Kroger brand toilet paper since we needed some too. I got up to the register & while unloading the cart noticed the guy was having problems scanning. This lady (I'm assuming the night manager) told me that the toilet paper was one per customer. I tried to explain to her that I care for my 88 year old dad & that it was for him. That he can't do his own shopping right now. Jacob (my 14 year old son) told me to give him a card & he would just take it to the uscan. So he grabbed the toilet paper, the card & went to the uscan. I then noticed this girl (night manager?) run down to the uscan to tell the Police Officer & the lady working the uscan to not let my minor son leave with some Kroger brand toilet paper!! I ran down to the uscan to tell Jacob that we were leaving. I can't believe she ran and told a police officer, I can't believe she would approach my minor child! What were they going to tackle & arrest him over toilet paper! Of course we left without buying anything & to say the least I am never shopping at Kroger again! read more

The store manager, Chris, is an amazing manager. We had a question regarding an allergy and finding food around the allergy. He took us throughout the store offering up suitable options and also offered that if we disliked our purchase that he could order in an additional brand for us to try. The only reason I shop at this particular Kroger is because there is nothing else better close by...and the fuel points. The fuel points program is pretty awesome, but other than that...this store isn't very good. 1.) They are often out of, or discontinue, seemingly common items randomly. The last time I was in the store, they had apparently stopped carrying Kraft Swiss cheese slices - no place on the rack and no price tag. WTF!?! This is not an uncommon item and I didn't want to buy the expensive Sargento or the crappy Kroger brand...lost a sale on that one. They've done this with other common cheese items I like too and they lost sales there as well. 2.) Too many special displays in the aisles. I can't stop and compare items, or stop and look for something (see comment 1 above!!!), without having to constantly move out of someone's way. When two people can't pass by each other in the aisles there is too much crap!!! 3.) The prices often ring up wrong, especially on alcohol. I then have to take someone back and show them the correct price. Wal-Mart takes your word for it when something rings up wrong. Wal-Mart also prices matches based solely on your word. Kroger won't even price match when you have a competitors add in hand. All-in-all, the only reason I still shop here is because there is nothing else better and I like the fuel points program. The local Aldi isn't much competition since they don't carry the brands I like (I do buy some items there) and the K-Mart fuel points program is a pathetic joke. If some other quality grocery store (or Wal-Mart) moves into this area though, look out Kroger! They'll have to step up their game. read more
