It was the afternoon but it was still quite cluttered with boxes and carts in the aisles that we were not able to get our carts through, and when politely trying to get by the employees were a bit rude. We utilized the self check out and the employee there was very kind and happy to help everyone. We got everything we needed but quickly remembered why we typically don't shop here. read more

Flowers ! Balloons! All of the florals here are vibrant. You also can get some really great balloons for parties and special events. Definitely come here for your next special occasion. I'm usually a creature of habit, that is to say that I usually go to grocery stores that are familiar to me but much more importantly, those that are close to my home. I say that to say, I don't often get to the Kroger on Sentinel Drive just off Battlefield Boulevard in the heart of Chesapeake. If they were closer, things would be different. When I do stop by here, it's usually on my way home from shopping somewhere else to pick up a few items. That's unfortunate because this is a fantastic grocery store. They have a nice selection of fresh fruit and vegetables in their produce section. The meat department is equally well stocked. Their prices are reasonable comparatively speaking but for me, the infrequency of my visits here boils down to proximity. read more

I don't shop at Kroger often but when I do I can find just about anything I am looking for. I have always gotten good seafood from the counter, and the meat and bakery depts are also very good. I paid a visit the day before Easter to pick up some nice lettuce and other vegetables for a salad. I was not disappointed. I used the self-checkout and the young lady who was working the area was paying attention to everyone and available to help at any given time. I had an article of clothing that was on clearance in my cart. It didn't ring up right but she was right on top of it and took care of it a matter of a minute including getting the security tag off of it. She had an amazing personality and actually seem to enjoy her job. I love a good grocery store but this location left me a little underwhelmed for adonde reason. I really like that they have a separate oversized fuel center. Going in everything looked about the same, but I was having this off the Holland Rd marketplace. The layout was off, after several tries couldn't find the natural food aisles. The clothing was mixed between the food which was the oddest concept. They did have quite a bit of sales on items and it was great that several products had the add an e*coupon for more added savings. That was good and finding it online wasn't too bad. But I wouldn't recommend the WiFi bc that only slowed my phone down. That made things worse. The cashier as self check out wasn't particularly friendly on her greeting but she was helpful by acknowledging that I needed a receipt reprinted. She resigned the receipt paper. All in all several shelves I went down aisles in were pummeled over by customers and left astray. It was a fair experience. Being a vegetarian, I find this Kroger Ideal. I love the display and the selection of Produce, and the layout of the department. I am in the store at least four out of seven days each week; maybe five; I find their produce department fresh, very attractive bright, and fully stocked 90% of the time. I love it so much I'm going to start employment there on January 8, 2022. The hiring process is very professional. I come from the white-collar workforce, Kroger is quite professional in the Supermarket category. A vegetarian for 50 years, I find their produce department to come closest to the top very vegetarian- vegan friendly. I go into the store five times four are only two produce department. 5 stars for a grocery store? Yep this store deserves it! Finally made it in after the grand opening and the store had some great sales and clearances. This is a one stop shop because they sale clothes, makeup, plants, housewares utensils and pots-n-pans, etc. They also have made-to-order pizza, sushi, sandwiches, chicken, salad bar AND a sit down beer and wine bar with a bartender!! Best of all they have Starbucks!! Whoop-whoop!! The store is clean, spacious and there's friendly staff that was helpful in helping me to find a few things. This location allows racism and prejudice practices against black customers. Donald (Asian American)has been very prejudice towards me on multiple occasions. The last straw was when he went digging in my grocery bags at self checkout when I turned my back AFTER he already checked my items because the system flagged. I only had 3 big food items that couldn't be hidden. I asked him what he was doing and he said he had to make sure as if he just knew I was gonna steal a party platter or sushi and an 8pc chicken. I called to report him to corporate and nothing happened. He still smiling and being prejudice. Like really. I love everything about this Kroger. The parking is convenient for people. They have parking for expected mothers and close up parking for handy cap. I have a nine month son and they have regular close up parking and that really helps because I have to carry him, his diaper bag, and my purse to the store. You have everything you need in one place. You need socks? ok they have them? Baby clothes? They have them. Makeup? got it. Kroger has a great deli area, they serve fresh pizza, subs, lunch and dinner. They also have a sushi area, a bar area, coffee area, and a salad bar. When it comes to prices, they have awesome affordable prices. The Kroger brand is up to par and the private selection is even better than average. read more

Definitely the best grocery store around! If you haven't been or new to the area it's so worth checking out. They have a good pick up grocery they are fast. Also good at helping with replacements if they don't have the item you want. The produce section is always well stocked and fresh. The sushi shop inside is so good and already fresh as well. They have a big deli and seafood area. Other places inside to stop and get hot food with a place to sit and eat. It's always a clean store. The freezer section has was more and better options than food lion and Walmart. Only down fall is sometimes it can be overwhelming it can become a very busy store. This store sucks. Missed managed is an understatement. Who closes all the self checkout lines at 5 PM on a Sunday afternoon? The lines were so long they were going up into the aisles because of it . I rarely frequent Kroger but I'm just getting into couponing so I decided to check them out. I remember when the Marketplace opened but I didn't understand the hype nor knew anyone that visited this location. I was in Awe. A clothes section right there on the left entrance. I was floored. Everything from under wear, shoes, kids and baby clothes. The clearance section was neat and had an additional 50% off the lowest marked price tag. The store has a beautiful layout with tons of square footage which makes for large isles and a ridiculous selection of grocery items and more! The most impressive thing of course is the bar! It's a wine and Beer bar! I checked out the menu and calendar and thought "Imagine eyeing a handsome guy while shopping, inviting you to some of their delicious fresh sushi all over a glass of wine!" In the same day with no reservations. It's pretty legit. I wasn't able to drink then but I will be back for the nights when the wine and beer flights are offered. read more

I love me some Kroger, even though they can be a little pricey. This one has it ALL! Clothes, jewelry, wine bar, Starbucks, sushi, pharmacy, lots of hot prepared foods on different bars, salad bar, fresh baked pizza in the brick oven, prepared salads, pastas and desserts. We use this Kroger for catering work events. The last time we used them, I decided to get ribs. When I tell you those were the best ribs that I've had east of the Mississippi! This is a convenient location right off Battlefield, not far from Greenbriar. Plenty of parking and lots of other stores nearby, like TJX Homegoods :D I just love this location! read more

This review is for the pizza station only. When I saw that Kroger had a wood fired pizza oven, I had high expectations for a decent, inexpensive pizza. I was sorely disappointed. The crust was fairly bland. The meat toppings did not taste very fresh, although the vegetables were good. One thing that irked me in particular was that the pizzas were so unevenly cooked. I think this was due to the guy not providing the proper attention required to operate a pizza oven. He was busy helping other customers at different areas of the deli while half of my pizza was overcooked. Then, he barely rotated them, so the other side was severely undercooked. I've been waiting to go to this Kroger since it opened last week. Employees were very friendly. Our check out cashier was very welcoming when I told him we were first timers there at that location. The very one thing I was impressed with was the preordering for the deli department. You order what you want on the touch screen, and it'll be ready in minutes, so no waiting at the line! #2. There's a bar in the middle of the store. Yes. A bar. Whaaat? I wish they had more of an organic selection of produce. I like their pet selection. This review is solely based on my ClickList experience. I've used a similar system at Lowe's Foods in Cape Carteret and loved it so when this opened up right around the corner from work I thought I'd give them a try. They had almost everything I wanted and gave me fresh fruit and everything was packed with like items. I pulled into their side parking lot, up to station #3, called the number on the sign and they knew exactly where I was. Our order was promptly delivered by 2 exceptionally wonderful employees who made the entire experience an A++. As a geocacher I'm always scouring stops for nearby caches and when I spotted one in the parking lot we locked our truck and headed out. The coords had us going in the straight to it when from behind us we hear "you're going in the wrong direction". I turned around to see the clicklist employees watching us from the door. They even offered to tell us where it was but we went with our guts and found it easily enough (even though the coords had us going in another direction, along with the clue). Their help alone on our caching adventure warrants a 5 star but they were all so friendly, we'll definitely use their service again! read more

They've only been open a few days but this place is off to a great start. It's HUGE and I'm pretty sure this will be my regular grocery store. The quality of the products they sell seems to be high and they offer a tremendous selection of a large variety of products. The produce section is just beautiful with an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables at reasonable prices. They even carry produce I've only seen in specialty Asian groceries before (Thai eggplant, bitter melon, Chinese squash and a few more). The store is very large but is super clean (of course it's just been open a few days) and organized. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable so don't be shy about asking where you can find a bag of popcorn or a toothbrush. Make sure you take the time to fill out an application for their Plus Card, it will save you money on promotional items and earn reward points towards gasoline at their fuel center which will be opening soon. I look forward to learning my way around the store as I do my regular grocery shopping here over the coming months. read more

Who knew Kroger could be huge and offer so many options like a wegmans? I am impressed because Ive never been to a krogers until now. First of all, go during lunch time. SAMPLES GALORE! During my visit, I had sampled sushi, steak, two different kinds of fish, and dessert (I even went for seconds when no one was looking--didn't want them to judge me). The market was very clean and everyone was so nice. The workers there all said good morning to me--it was kinda weird, but nice. The selection of wine they had available was overwhelming. It may not be as big as total wine, but there were several rows of it. The prices were also low and the food is fresh. I really wish they had this kind of marketplace near my house read more

Normally I do not make reviews because ultimately it does not matter what I say but this time I think I will make an exception in hopes for the management to see and pray they will find avenues to make things better. I have been a fan of this Kroger for a couple of years now but only within the past two months, I have been slowly getting more disappointed with this store. Just like other places have been facing with lack of manpower, this Kroger had taken it further by allowing that fact to effect the customers in more ways than one. Store experience has been ultimately good because you can make things work with lack of supply (they can't help that, whatever comes off the truck is what it is). However, if you decided to opt for pick up, it is guaranteed that you will not get your order partially or even fully. Even if you place your order very early in the morning, they will cancel your order because of lack of staff. They will not offer other solutions other than refund in 2-3 days. They also will say they don't have certain products in stock but if you go in the store, you will find a whole coffin of that product. For instance, they said they ran out of whole chicken, but if you entered the store, you will find multiple of coffins of chicken. The managers or even general manager will make excuses for anything like "well, we must be just got the product", no, it's clear that there was oversight. It's also seen in other departments as well. For example, If you placed order to pick up prescription well early in the morning , they will not fill it until closing time. So, With when this happened to me, I asked if it would be done by the next morning and they said they will make sure it's ready by opening the next day at 9am. However, when I come through the drive through around 9:30am, the pharmacy's cage is still down and there's no one there. Even the customer service manager didn't know why that was the case. It's almost as if no one is checking up on each other because they are so very overwhelmed. I really hope things clear up for them, I truly do, but it's where it's at the expense of the customers and I hope they find ways to bounce back. read more

Now normally when I shop here it's smooth sailing but today was agitating. I'm a mom and an aunt and one of the many perks of having older nephews is that they can run my errands. So I sent my tween nephew in Kroger to return a few baby items that were too small and I waited with my baby in the car for about twenty minutes. After twenty minutes my nephew emerged with the bag still in his hand and when I asked why he said,"the lady said he needed an adult to make the return." Now the return amount was only about $12 and he had the receipt and older than ten years old so I failed to see the dilemma. So I stopped feeding my infant and we went back in the store so we could make the return. When it's my turn I asked the lady what occurred she blamed it on her manager Gina claimed she was being difficult and requested my nephew have an adult present but according to my nephew he was at the register for twenty minutes without any assistance being offered then the cashier Kyra went to get her manager and that's when they told him he needed an adult present. Now I didn't see anything on the bottom of the receipt that says you have to be a certain age to make a return and the cashier herself said it's just how her manager wants it done. This was an inconvenience for $12! I had to take my baby out in the heat and stop breastfeeding just to tend to this. Kroger you all need to do better. read more

If I didn't have the baby and my impatient husband in tow, I could've spent all afternoon looking down every aisle. My goal to adhere to my shopping list was not met... Not when they carry Dr. Brown's cream soda and Vernor's ginger ale! The customer service was excellent. The checkout lines were long, but our cashier was very efficient. This review is specifically for the bakery. SALTED CARAMEL MINI CUPCAKES. They come in a package of 12, 6 vanilla, 6 chocolate cupcakes frosted with the yummiest salty sweet frosting. And I'm not a frosting eater. I bought 6 packages for a meeting and everyone who ate them loved them. I think they put crack in these cupcakes because I've craved these every day since I tried them last week. I've fought the urge to go back but I'm weakening fast. Be kind and leave one package for me. (BTW - this Kroger is always clean. I thought I had a sushi aversion until I ate their sushi. They have great grocery specials. Kroger was great during the grand opening. I have come several times and was very pleased each time. My experience today was really bad. Employees are not as friendly as they used to be. The selection and prices are still good. However, when it was time to check out there was only ONE register open. No self check, no express lane open. It was 8 AM on a Saturday morning. The poor cashier didn't even have a bagger. The line was 10 people deep before the self checkout opened, after it was brought to the store's attention by a patron. I was very disappointed, sorry to say it was worse than Walmart. I passed 4 grocery stores to come to this Kroger, I will now rethink this next time. read more

This one has more variety than the other krogers in the area. What I really came for was the sushi burrito! The sushi spot closes early so go before 6pm. It was surprisingly really good. I tried the poke bowl but the rice was hard. They don't have these items at other krogers so you have to venture out here to get it. Worst Kroger I have ever been to. Employees are lazy, rude and incompetent. The lines are always long and there are rarely enough checkout stands open, yet there seems to be plenty of employees loitering around with nothing to do. Simple transactions involving coupons or recyclables take four times longer then they should. Shelves are empty and there is very little consistency in product replenishment. Kroger needs to get it together. Thanksgiving is next week... get the memo. I don't work here, I shouldn't have to checkout and bag all my groceries when I have a cart full. I worked my job. Worst customer service with no sense! I'm stationed far from home , I come visit and do groceries sometimes when my wife can't do it . We have different memberships. We came once to do groceries together and to use our coupons with different transactions since she has her own income and so do I. They told us that we are not allow to do that .Because we are a family and coupons cannot exceed 5 per person for the same product and I ONLY HAD 4! And we were using 2 per person!!!!
