Huge beautiful store a very nice selection of food fresh produce all around great place to shop

Very poor experience at this Kroger Marketplace, both at checkout and customer service. I had a large order totaling almost $340 and used a regular checkout lane. Several sodas were marked "Buy 2, Get 2 Free," yet I was charged full price for all four. The cashier also required me to remove nearly every item from my cart to scan individually, including large cases of soda. Most retailers allow bulky items to stay in the cart, so this felt unnecessary and inefficient. After loading my car, I realized I'd been overcharged. I had ice cream in my cart and had to go back inside and wait over 30 minutes at customer service just to get the pricing error corrected. Because of the delay and needing to pick up my children from school, I ended up having to return the ice cream as well, I couldn't risk it sitting in the car for hours. The store itself is clean and well-kept, but customer service is lacking. This isn't the first time I've had issues at this location, and it feels like customers are not a priority here. I only shop at this Kroger because it's close to my home, but I'll be driving a little farther to a different location in the future for a better experience. read more

Needed to exchange diapers that were bought from the Hendersonville store. I got huggies instead of pampers. Anyhow instead of exchanging it I got ab extremely rude woman telling me I have to go to the original store. I've worked along with Kroger for over 20 years and NEVER has this happened. Can't say I've ever seen someone who should be fired more than this woman. Not sure what crawled up her and died, but don't be rude to someone not being rude to you. Especially when you're just being lazy. read more

I found the sweetest cashier at Kroger Marketplace. Probably the most helpful person I've ever come across. But then all of a sudden I couldn't find her anymore and then lo and behold I found she had moved to the floral department. I hope Kroger Marketplace knows how lucky they are to have Nancy she goes above and is so kind. We need more Nancy's at Kroger Marketplace. read more

This is the WORST pharmacy EVER! This pharmacist comes out into the line of sick people waiting 4 minutes before her lunch break and tells sick customers they have to come back in 30 minutes? Who does this? I had a prescription called in directly. I received a text from the pharmacy saying the prescription was received. Two days later, nothing. I call, sit on hold for 30 minutes to find out this med is not available at any Kroeger. I had to find another pharmacy and have them call to get the prescription transferred. I will never come here again! Terrible service. Terrible communication. read more

I'm sad to leave this review but the return abilities at Kroger are awful. This store almost never has customer service open, and they claim that no one but customer service can do a return. I went to 6 different stores trying to return a $13 item, and they all kept sending me around. This store the staff are not kind and I don't know why, and they keep things closed a lot so you can't return. Also they close at 9-10 most days which are good hours, but they even close off the entrance and you have to walk on the register side to get in during open hours. It's so odd. The other week I was in self checkout and one of the female employees kept pushing my feet with her broom while she swept since I was "In her way" at the self checkout. The biggest issue (besides the crazy overpriced items) is if you're open, you should be able to return things. I also was told I'll have to call Kroger's 1-800 number because they can't lookup the purchase with my card or with my ID. Painfully outdated systems and bad hours leads to a bad experience. After experiencing the poor quality housing items they sell, I would not recommend purchase, because you will be stuck with a bad item. read more

Everything you could want in this store!! I almost forgot what I came into the store for! The Sushi Bar was right in front of me. The nice man was forming some new ones at that time. I decided to try one of the packages. They were very good. I ate three of them on my way home. Yum! Who doesn't like bakery good. Tons of decorated cakes and cupcakes ready to go. Ordering is another nice feature. Then, I passed the Hot and Cold buffet. There was a man getting his takeout carton filled by the nice lady behind the counter. Darn! I already had lunch, but plan to come back another day. I wandered around the isles of Thanksgiving needs, Christmas decorations, even saw snow shovels at the end of one isle! This was beginning to be a fun trip. (Still trying to remember what I came in for!) Rounding the corner at the far end of the store were signs that noted Black Friday Sale Items. I found some leggings that were priced right, wore them to be sure of the comfort and fit, and plan to go back for another pair for only $10. Got some socks, too. There were clothing items of all kinds for adults and kids - including slippers! Okay, I grabbed a carton of prepackaged shrimp, too, as I passed along the cold packaged area for meats and seafood. Oh, did I mention - a big case of fresh fish, salmon, and shrimp among many. Leaving the store, I saw lots of potted flowers outside, too. I couldn't believe all that is there. Visiting from Ky for a friend who lives nearby. She's not been out of her house since 3/2020 and now I know why. I was appalled at how little COVID precautions were taken. Staff was not all wearing masks. Customers were walking around unmasked and no one seemed to care. At this point I'm not surprised anymore that Tennessee is 5th worst for covid infections when people are careless with mask wearing. I will not spend another penny at Tenn. Kroger's! read more

Terrible experience tonight. Went in to pick up a few things for just me and my wife. Kids are in school or out of the house. Want to grill a couple steaks on a Sunday night. The family pack of Rib Eyes are 12.99 lb. They come packed 3. We only want 2. Don't like to freeze our steak. Go to the meat department asking him to break it. He says he can't break a family pack. I said I only want two. He said I happen to have a pack of 2. That the customer didn't want. GREAT! They are 14.99 lb. Can't sell those at 12.99 they aren't a family pack. So I either have to buy 3 or is my kids were home have to buy 6 for a family of 4. Went to "Guest" Services. Explained the situation. Could have cared less. No let me call the manager. I'll pass on your concern. Just yep. That's the way it is. I said thanks for your concern. Sarcastically as possible she said "you're welcome." Almost left everything in the cart and walked out. Only reason it is a 2 star and not a 1 was the teller. Only one that cared. Hate the service at this Kroger. Wish Publix had the selection and prices. read more

The store is HORRIBLE at restocking. Their fruit always has something wrong with it. Cashiers.. like Walmart, they have several registers, but only 1 or 2 that are open ona Sunday. Oh, and carts.. It's Kroger! This location is great. The store is always clean and I've never had a bad experience with any of the staff, everyone is always so nice. Cashiers are always friendly. It is a marketplace so it's enormous and of course there's a lot of stuff. Fresh sushi, clothes, fresh bakery, huge deli, seasonal items, floral, a Starbucks, US Bank, little clinic, pretty much whatever you need and serially cannot stress enough how wonderfully clean and bright the store is. Shopping doesn't feel like a chore at this location. read more

This is the Kroger closest to my home and frequent at least twice a week. I have now called management 3 times as to clerks and baggers covering their mouths but not noses. I am wearing total mask and I don't particularly like it either. Kroger cannot represent as compliant and then pretend they are not aware that employees do not follow the rules. Very disappointed. This has to be one of the best markets in Sumner County. First, the place is well organized and lighted. If you are like me, who do not enjoy grocery shopping, you can do most of your shopping around the fresh produce and Deli areas. I LOVE it! To me the biggest surprise today, was the amount and variety of Organic, Non GMO, gluten free, foods. Is everywhere, fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats and even the pre packaged cereals, sauces, BEANS! I am on a "diet-boicot", I've been on so many diets, I don't remember when I was not following one. I am trying to eat REAL FOODS as much as possible. The cost was not much different than normal. Mind you, I don't buy bulk, I buy what I know I'll eat. There are few things I hate more than throwing away food. I have a Kroger closer to my home, but I'll drive the extra time to get here. read more

Holy. Guacamole. This is THE BEST KROGER HANDS DOWN I have ever gone into. For starters, they have everything. Clothes? Check. Jewelry? Check. Sushi Bar? Check. Do you need to go to a grocery store for these things? Absolutely not. I won't lie though - I found myself ensnared by all of the great displays and deals. I left with multiple new pairs of workout tights... As far as food goes, they have everything. Tons of organic, gluten free and "health" aisles. Tons of seafood. Tons of produce that all looked amazing. Tons of beer. There are TWO separate beer areas - one for most beers, and one for local and regional brews. Apparently in TN, you can't buy wine and beer in the same grocery store, but I hear that is coming to an end soon - it was a big shock to me since in Charleston, you can buy whatever, whenever (almost). They did stock cooking sherry, though. The prices seem fair to me (an out of towner) - no more than my Harris Teeter trips would have cost me. Friendly staff, clean store, clean parking lot, great products - what isn't to love!? read more

This is my favorite place to shop. The prices are great and the shelves,counters,and freezers are always full . The store is clean and the employees are very friendly. The last two times I have gone to self check out I have had not such good luck. I had the same employee Nelda treat me like I didn't know how to scan items, didn't answered any of my questions or just ignored me,she also acted liked she didn't want to be bothered or want anyone using her self check out area. Still we shop at this store but will not use the self check out will go thru the lines were the friendly employees work. read more

This is the best Kroger in the area and probably the best overall grocery store in the area as well. The Kroger Marketplace is huge--but they have adequate parking and clear and adequate entrance and exit routes to match that size which their counterpart Krogers in the county do not. The produce section is the best produce section in the area with plenty of variety at fair prices. The meat counter and fresh seafood options are also the best in the county. Add a quality cheese and deli department, every aisle staple you might need, a friendly and helpful US Bank in-store location (with extended hours), a good pharmacy, a clothing and general merchandise section with decent offerings, a starbucks that offers good service, and (so far in my experience) friendly service as well then it's going to be hard for any other grocer in Sumner County to compete. That said, the location isn't the best for me so I rarely make this my primary grocery stop any more as it's not close to my residence at all. read more

This is my second review of this Kroger location. I thought it would be better but no. Employees at self checkout talking among themselves instead of helping customers with coupons. We should be able to scan our own coupons anyway!!! Lottery machine not stocked! Does Alfred do anything but stand around and talk to the other guy always working the self check out?? Great newer store that has many other items besides the common groceries you find at all grocery stores. I especially like the fresh meat and seafood counters. The only way this store could be better is of they started selling hard alcohol in grocery stores in TN read more

I really dislike the Kroger stores in Hendersonville, so it's worth it to me to drive to the Kroger Marketplace in Gallatin. I really like their produce and deli sections, and the checkout lines are quicker than in Hendersonville. I'm not much of a fan of grocery stores that sell clothing, but I guess enough people like it to make it worthwhile. I am really looking forward to that glorious day (July 1st, 2016) when they will be able to sell wine in their store. read more

This review is just for the Kroger pharmacy! I have never felt such a strong need to review a place before, but oh my goodness. The pharmacists here are honestly so unlike any place else; it's truly unbelievable. I have never seen pharmacists who are so happy to constantly go above and beyond. My parents told me how amazing they were, and so I took my prescriptions here and was just absolutely blown away too. First of all, Will did what previous pharmacists elsewhere were unable/unwilling to do and figured out how to get a coupon to work that saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars. He made so many calls to figure it out, and did so with a smile on his face. He truly cares about the people and helping others, and didn't even mind staying a bit late. You will not find that kind of customer care anywhere else! He is so knowledgeable too, in a world where there's so much incompetence. I cannot sing this man's praises enough. Tanner has also been super helpful and has really gone the extra mile (without even being asked), and my mom told me to acknowledge that Seena has been so wonderful and accommodating as well! Seena is extremely thorough and patient, and my mom is so appreciative of her care! She loves having a pharmacist that she can really trust. I don't know how Kroger finds such excellent pharmacists!!! I remember my dad called in a prescription right as they were about to close, and they were like, "Oh no problem, we'll fill it and stay open for you -- take your time getting here!" We just love these people! Every time my parents or I interact with the Kroger pharmacists, we are in awe all over again. It seems weird, but they really are of a different breed here! So competent and kind and caring. Thank you SEENA, WILL, TANNER and everyone else!!!! You all have turned what can be a stressful experience to such a consistently positive one. read more

I'm giving this rating a 2 because I shop mainly at this kroger and have loved it for years. HOWEVER, every time I go to the deli, the service is absolutely horrible. So this rating is for the Deli dept. The 2 folks working tonight acted as if it was an inconvenience for me to be coming to their window to get meat. Tonight, I walked up at 8:44 and asked if they were open. The man, under his breath and sarcastically laughing with the woman he works with stated while looking at his watch "for like 16 minutes." So I asked again, "are you open?" And the woman said coldly they close at 9. I told her what meat I wanted and how much I wanted (1.5 pounds) to which she shook her head without directly responding to me and under her breath, but loudly enough for me to hear told her coworker that "Customers don't care! They just come up and want what they want and don't care. This is unbelievable." I said, "You guys are open another 15 minutes though?" I was considerate enough not to come up at 9 asking... she argues temporarily about how they had already cleaned everything and proceeded to hand me the meat asked "do you need anything else like cheeses or... just kidding because if you come back to this window we won't be here so don't expect anything else." Whoa. I initially responded kind of like "No thank you I'm okay" until I realized the sarcasm and blatant attitude. Im like, I did not make you work here and you must not know what customer service looks like? I am just doing what I thought I was supposed to do at the deli. Right? You go up and ask them for meat and they give it to you then boom see ya thank you bye. I didn't expect to get into a debate about knowing when they close. Guys, y'all were just standing at the back not doing anything when I walked up! It didn't inconvenience you that much did I really? I did take it to the manager who was very helpful and kind and did address the man and woman working, however this was not the first time I've seen hostility from the male working. Will I continue to shop here? I want to say after that experience I won't, but it is a very convenient spot and other than the deli I do love it. I'll just send my husband the next time read more

If you go in before 8am, good LUCK finding a lane open. You are forced to use the self-checkout lane, no matter how much you have, and the male attendants that "work" these lanes are always RUDE. So tired of their sour faces and gruff responses when I would like to see a happy face and pleasant demeanor every now and then! Even the dudes stocking the freezer aisles just always look miserable! I Love Kroger Marketplace but today I was let down in a big way! I use their online pickup service and it hasn't always been perfect but most of the time they do a great job. I placed my online order around 10:00am for a 4-5pm pickup, nothing out of the ordinary. I received a call at 1:00pm explaining that they wouldn't be able to fill my order from 4-5 today. I asked if I could pick up my order at a later time and they said they wouldn't even be able to fill my order tomorrow. They said they were calling to cancel my order. I was really irritated and asked that a manager call me back. The manager, Jimmy, called me back with an explanation that they were having system issues and they didn't have enough people to fill all the orders coming in so they had to cancel. I said that I was really disappointed in the level of customer service. I said that nobody even offered to fill it for a later date. They didn't care to offer any solutions, which I find very strange. I understand that system issues can be out of your control but not offering a discount to come shop tonight or a gift card for the inconvenience is poor customer service. I still do need groceries and could have done it myself but why choose to spend my money where they clearly don't want it? I would expect more from such a local favorite - Beware of online ordering and don't expect customer service - Boo!!! read more

I sure wish I could give 0 stars. Never any carts available. Customers have to go to the parking lot to get their own. I have been here 5 times since moving and there were carts inside once. The store always seems to be out of stock of everything. A manager told me it was because I was shopping on the weekend. I apologize Kroger that my work schedule does not meet your needs. I will never go back to this location. Love Kroger...just not this one! read more

Just picked up groceries yesterday...did not bother to double check my bagged salad as I was purchasing it, as I assumed Kroger would've already removed the bags Dole recalled days ago. However, all the bags I bought were the ones recalled. Unfortunately, we already ate one bag before I double checked the bags. Really disappointed that the management staff didn't ensure all recalled bags were removed from the shelves. read more

Kroger Markeplace is HUGE with just about any good you could imagine. The new store is very nice and well laid out. The prices aren't bad either. The only thing I don't like about it, (and this is just me being picky) is the staff. I swear, millions of people work in this one store and they all either walk around doing nothing, or they stare at you. read more
