I shop at this Kroger because it's close to my house. Whenever I am done shopping, I like to check the Pokémon vending machine for my son. For the last month every single time I have gone in there there is an employee that is constantly checking the machine and then sitting at the Starbucks off the clock for hours at a time getting all of the product out of it. Last night I just needed Miracle Whip & Honey Mustard for a recipe & I do NOT frequent this Kroger any longer but thought it's on the way to Pizza Zone so why not...Simple in & out? NOPE. It took me several minutes and I could not find any of these items! Should be simple staples? I literally had to walk up to a Cashier wait for him to finish checking out his Customer (more time wasted) to politely ask & say I saw no signs overhead indicating my needed items! He told me to go back down to back of store, make a right, then I'll see a Aisle 1 and my items!! You can't see that from the front of the store!! My goodness this lay-out?? This is absolutely the worst grocery store I have ever shopped at. The prices are super high, the staff is minimum wage at best, and the quality is very poor compared to HEB or even Walmart. Kroger obviously does not invest in stores that are located in lower economic areas. People in this area deserve better! I have always viewed Kroger stores as mediocre but this store is one of the worst. I only stopped as a convenience to get one item but once again, a waste of time. I should know better. Kroger should be ashamed, but then they would have to care about quality, regardless of the economics of the immediate customer. This should be a 0 star review. This is by far the worst grocery store I've ever been to. I was a lifelong Kroger shopper, but this location made me change my shopping habits. I hope you guys check your receipts after shopping here. EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit this store my receipt is incorrect. The prices on the shelves do not match the prices you are charged at the register. This is not an exaggeration - EVERY TIME I shop here!! I just stopped by since it's close to my house and I needed a couple of items on my lunch break. Once again, my receipt was wrong. I went back inside to customer service, which by the way is nonexistent. There is usually teen/20-something behind the counter who is more concerned about what's on their phone. I'm reminded each time why I do not regularly shop here. Kroger is making money off of our laziness - again I hope you check your receipts. DO NOT EAT THEIR ROTISSERIE CHICKENS OR ANY CHICKEN FROM THERE! I purchased this cooked ready to eat chicken and ate halfway through it before I realized that there was a BUG COOKED INTO THE CHICKEN! I called the store and they just told me I needed to bring it in (after being on hold for 27 mins) so I brought it back to the store and I told the customer service desk what happened and she said "yuck that's gross" I was like yes I'm aware that's why I'm here. I asked to speak with a manager and she said there wasn't one there... I said "this entire store and there no manager here?" She said "well he's here but he's working in the back" like okay go get him ? She said the best they could do was give me a $8 refund for my chicken. I absolutely haaaaattttteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this new layout... I don't know who thought it was a good idea to put coffee on the same isle as BLEACH AND HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS!!! That's just one example that just can't get over... today I just wanted some ranch dressing.. I looked on all the isles that would make sense for it to be on... the grilling isle... pasta isle... canned goods.. eventually I literally just looped every single isle from frozen all the way down.. condiments are now in that weird corner, very hidden, where all the vegan stuff used to be. I only found it after giving up and asking an employee. I think someone just got moved to management and decided to make changes that weren't necessary to "look good". I hate it please put it back. This Kroger is a very reliable store. They stay well stocked and are clean. I just dont care for the parking. The employees are friendly and very helpful. I believe that this location will be getting a bit of a remodel in the new year so I'm excited for the reveal! This is a great location for quick shopping trips. And those oops I need milk and eggs trips. But also since this is a Signature Kroger they have the specialty things here that other Kroger locations don't have so it really is just the perfect location. read more

I arrive five minutes before closing just to buy a soda that I was craving. I was at the door at 10:55 when it says they close at 11 yet they refuse to let me in. I showed them my phone and the time and they kept telling me that they had to only let the customers out. I understand these are hard workers and they want to go home, especially at 11 PM. They let me in to buy the soda and on checkout they began talking to me about the situation and I said look if you close at 10:55 you should say that on your website. I worked in many places that we could not stop letting people in until the time we closed the hour of closing was reached that is when we deny people entering. I asked for the gentleman's name because he kept reading me about the situation and he refused to tell me so instead I snapped a picture of him just to have a chat with his manager cause I couldn't get his name. And started talking to other customers about what I done against privacy. When there are cameraa all over the store, and this is very common. I did not want to post the picture of this gentleman to show his boss what had happened and why he continued to argue with me. The customer who got involved a cart at on the way out and the whole thing became very uncomfortable, unnecessary, and dumb. I called the manager the next day, and his tone seemed like he didn't really care and he said he would talk to the employee, but in his tone, I could tell he didn't really want to help me or ask me what he could do but me or none of my family or people that I know will be shopping at this Kroger. Parking lot: Tickets should be sold to the general public, for this is a local demolition derby between cars, grocery carts and pedestrians. Every man/cart/vehicle is open game! The real question is: how close can one entity get to another before a honk of a horn or the screeching of breaks is heard? Bets, please? Place your bets! The store: Bring your wallet. Actually, your Platinum AmEx card is appropriate. Prices are very high. Stock is limited and not very comprehensive. Checkout: Manned checkout lanes were long when I was here; thank goodness I was only buying one item and quickly went to the self-checkout lane. Even that had a line (people with pretty full carts using it and not adequate space between the next lane to really accommodate the cart, the person checking out and someone to pass by). The whole "Kroger Card" mantra drives me crazy, too, but that's throughout the chain. Go here only if you are in dire need of an essential item and you don't want to be financially raped at the corner convenience store. If you want to avail yourself of the Kroger "specials" for the week, drive a little bit to the Champion Forest & Cypresswood location, which is a much more civilized, better-stocked representation of this chain. read more

Walked in today at around 3:10 after a long shift at work, I literally just needed a case of water, and I unfortunately did not have a mask, so I just covered my face and nose with my shirt and got my water and went to the self checkout to pay, the lady at the self checkout came over to help me with my water, was nice and telling me the scanner had a weight limit on it, so that's why It called her over, then she looked at my face and realized I didn't have an actual mask, and refused to let me pay, she insisted that I had to buy a mask, this is just ridiculous to me!? I was legit just about to insert my card, and she refused to let me pay, I was not about to buy a mask just to get my water, I am supposed to be a "valued customer" well today the older lady at the self checkout made me feel the complete opposite. Since Kroger denied my sale I had to go to a Walgreens down the road, they were very very generous enough to offer me a FREE mask. read more

Used to be my only grocery store. However, I have noticed that not all the staff are wearing face masks properly in accordance with CDC guidelines. Some are wearing them below their chin, some below their noses. Over the past few weeks, I have expressed my concern to management, but I see no improvement. Today when I expressed concern to the cashier about his face maks, which was under his chin, he said "But then I can't breathe" I said "What about my health?' Then he said, "Do you know anyone who has gotten sick? I don't." This is horrible customer service.Out of respect to me and my concern, he should have pulled his mask up and not argued with me. SHOPPING WHILE BLACK 8/7/2022 will forever be seared in my mind as microaggression really does exist and RACISM and RACIAL profiling is alive and very ugly. I, a Black woman wearing a hoody sweatshirt [after a workout at a nearby gym, not that it matters] experienced my 1st open, blatant encounter with racism as I shopped for a deli chicken at Krogers store on the corner of louetta and kuykendahl. It's ironic because I frequently shop at this location. Steven, who later identified himself as the store manager, microassaulted me by following me from the front door through the bakery over to the deli. When I realized that his bright yellow shirt moved whenever I moved, I asked "Are you following me?" He looked at the chicken in my hand and said, "Are you going to pay for that?" I was devastated, embarrassed, traumatized and confused since we were standing in the deli area.The store was very crowded and he selected me to harass. I felt insulted and verbally expressed how he marginalized me by following me. After this initial uncomfortable encounter, I followed Steven to his open register which had no waitings and asked him to check me out so I could go feed my family. Steven said, "No I'm not checking you out because you're rude!" I asked several employees for corporate's phone number but no one assisted. I asked employees to help me identify the manager but was told, " I can't give you his name . He has to give you his own name." I asked for the next in the chain of command and the name Jason was given, but "he's not here today." Finally, I called tthe police for assistance as this environment had become very hostile and very volatile as other whitecustomers and staff began yelling at me too.Did Steven want me to just walk out with an unpaid chicken? Reminds me of Safeway, I tried to use my Safeway card and it wouldn't work. The satire has a really nice bakery and also a organic section. Also a place for IPhone chargers. That helps when you forget yours and are out of town. Good produce, organized and fresh. read more

This is usually my favorite Krogers but last night I was appalled by the way one of their new managers spoke to her employees. Her name is Monica or Monique. I was in the store between 7:30 and 8:30 pm. The manager was screaming at the employee because she didn't like what the employee was explaining to her. She rudely told her that if she didn't like it she could clock out and leave. She wasn't even speaking to me and I'm embarrassed for that employee. I stood in line for at least 20 minutes watching the manager conduct personal business with the customer service desk associate. There was 1 check out line open, then she made a bagger open a register. The lines were still long. She never once bothered to open a register. But stood there berating employees. I've witnessed countless times where managers have jumped on a register with a smile. She has no customer service skills and your employees do not deserve to be treated in such a rude vile manner. If you look at the store tapes between 730 to 900 pm you will see that she was conducting personal business and never once bothered to get on a register. Please look into this matter. I live 1.8 miles and I go to this Kroger store sometimes three times a day for the last 7 years. I have never encountered any negative experience with the manger or employees . So today I went to pick up a few things from Kroger's and when I went to check out, I was going to take out a few dollars for lottery. When I put my card in, I found out that now Kroger's (as if they didn't charge enough for everything else) has decided they need to charge an extra $0.50 cents for me to take out cash!! On top of the charge, when I asked the cashier when they started this fee, she stated they had been charging it for a week, but there was no notice posted anywhere. I had also taken out money from this same store yesterday and did not get charged a fee. When I told that to her, she simply said you should check your receipt! Great customer service - NOT! This Kroger has the most unfriendly employees I've ever seen. They don't greet customers, offer assistance, or even attempt to be nice to customers. They're always busy, but they only have carts at one entrance and the cashiers are as slow as molasses. Instock conditions isn't as good as it should be and they always are stocking during their busiest times. Better management definitely needed here! read more

I have been shopping at Kroger for many years but I will not shop there any longer. This particular location in Spring which is close to home has become one of the worst managed stores I have been to. The inventory of goods is hardly ever complete, they don't carry consistent brands so if you like a brand they carry one week you may never see it again after that. The customer service has become non existent and there never seems to be any managers available to customers. The last straw for me was the new credit card scanners they put in storewide, I've had several issues with them scanning my debit card correctly and even causing my bank to freeze my card in one instance because it though there was suspicious activity due to them having me swipe my card repeatedly because the scanner wasn't reading it. With the new Chip reader if you use a debit card you can not use it with out putting in your PIN and it will not operate with out using your PIN. I explained that I did not want to use my card as a debit and preferred to use it as a credit card and I was told that I could not use it as credit card, at that point I told them to keep the groceries and went to my local HEB. I hate going to a new store simply because you have to learn where everything is and it takes longer to get what you want. But after being greeted by several employees in different departments and them guiding me to what I was looking for plus answering questions and explaining about their specials and sales and what to look for I was so impressed by the excellent service and the lower prices I will be a HEB customer from now on! read more

My husband recently got a large flower arrangement for our anniversary. Sadly there was an issue l BUT the general manager was super polite and prompt about getting the issue fixed. I love getting food and flowers from this location & the management going the extra mile to make sure I was happy was very appreciated!!!! We will be back :) read more
