Excellent grocery store that is well stocked and clean. I generally find everything I want although I often use their Clicklist and find that many products are "in store only" which is a little frustrating. Overall, though no complaints, the staff is very helpful, the quality of fresh items is very good. my only suggestion/wish is that they would carry more "ethnic products" by expanding their Hispanic, Asian, etc. sections with with actual high-quality products from these regions read more

With the coronovirus advisories to avoid crowds, this week I tried two Kroger offerings that were new to me: (1) pick up ordering and (2) home delivery. They both worked great. For the pickup, my only problem was finding the pickup spot (it's behind the pharmacy pickup window....on the south wall of the building); the clerk delivered the bags to my car and gave me a receipt clearly denoting what was there and what was out of stock. Good service! Only added cost would have been approx $5 but waived for first few orders. For the delivery, the system sent me status when the picking began, updated on every item not in stock and offered substitutes for my response. Actual delivery was within 15 minutes of my request and very pleasant delivery person. Only added cost was approx $9 for pick and deliver. These are two excellent services and others should try....especially if you're ill, homebound, or if you're trapped in a pandemic! read more

Love me some Kroger! It's my grocery store of choice. When I stay at my parents' house in Winchester, I find myself here every time. I always check the weekly sale and make my list based on what's on sale. The deli cheese is usually something that I buy here, regardless if it's on sale or not though. Maybe it has something to do with the setup of this location, since the deli options are near the entrance, I gravitate to it. The deli bacon is also a favorite of mine. No packaged bacon compares to the thick sliced of the maple or pepper covered deli bacon that they sell at Kroger. Try it... thank me later. Make sure that you sign up for a Kroger Plus card. You have to have it in order to get the sale prices. If you're like me though, you might hate keeping up with a rewards card. No worries though, you can register on the app and access it each time there after, via the app. All of the staff that I've encountered here have been friendly. I've come to expect that in Winchester though. True southern hospitality all around Winchester. read more

I do like our remodeled Kroger Store. What I do not like is the self checkout! Give me a discount if you expect me to check AND bag my own groceries. I realize its a trend everywhere but in my opinion its bad for cashiers. Just another way to eliminate jobs! I only randomly go to Kroger. That random time is when once again...Walmart is packed. LOL. I get lost in this store and don't know where the things I need are located. I do believe they are a bit more pricey than Walmart as well. I do like the fact that they have a Starbucks located at the check out area and a Kroger liquor store beside them. The staff are usually friendly and helpful. The store itself is usually clean and less crowded. They do put their produce on sale/clearance really early and they also carry a few meats that the Walmart does not, but that isn't enough to make me shop here. read more

I really hate this particular Kroger location. It's tiny, so even a small amount of people make it seem packed. It seems like it's only 1/4 the size of other Kroger's I've been in. It also seems to only have 1/4 of the products available at most Kroger's also. I'm not in Winchester often but stopped by cause Kroger usually has these frozen burritos i like. Nope, not this one! Kroger is the best grocery store for health conscious people. It's also a lot less crowded. I've never had to wait behind more than one person in line because they make sure to open new lanes when it's busy. Friendly, knowledgeable staff that always offers to help you with your groceries after check-out. The only reason for four stars is that sometimes I take produce home and it wasn't fresh and goes bad really quick. read more

I am writing this letter following my pick up a few days ago. I did a click list. My expectations were accurate items placed in my bags, fresh quality, and items not damaged. I also expected for longer wait time and out of stock items due to pandemic. I had these expectations because these items are personal needs for my family and I experienced good service in the past. I understand due to the time we are in that all items will not be available so I did receive most items correctly but my items were damaged due to carelessness. My bread was bagged with my juice and my chips were bagged with canned goods. Also, I received bologna with mold on the inside of the package and I ordered a large can of green beans and it was substituted for one small can. I received substitution for out of stock items as well. There was a standard gap between Kroger understanding my expectations and the service design. The click list service design has flaws and employees seem uninterested in doing that service to the best of their ability. My recommendation to the click list service is to better train your employees to be more aware and care about the work they are putting in. Train employees on how to properly bag grocery items and stay on them until they get into a habit of properly bagging items. Have your employees to take pride in making the customer happy! I am not upset but I just know the potential that your employees have and I want Kroger expound on that potential. read more

Probably one of the best krogers I've shopped at! It is a smaller/older location and that is perfect for me! I go to krogers to get groceries and not to shop for my next bedroom set or new throw blankets lol!! But like I said, it is on the smaller side so it might not have everything you dream of but I have never once had to go to a different store to get something I couldn't find there... All of the employees are always very friendly and went out of there way to get my son a cookie (actually opened a box of cookies to give him one like they do at the bigger stores lol) from a box that hadn't even been opened yet! I don't shop any other drug stores in Winchester anymore because the service here is so good. I've been here several times that I had not given them enough time to fill the prescription although, they filled the prescription while I waited extremely quickly. They also never fail to tell me when I have selected an expensive item. They truly seem to be looking out for my health and my financial well-being rather than just selling me something for the sake of profit. read more

It's weird when you go into a grocery store and people working there know your name. The grocery store itself is just a regular grocery store. Nothing remarkable about it. But the people who work there are really fun. The only complaint I have is that they're consistently out of chicken thighs and Sierra Nevada Torpedo. read more

Worst Kroger I've visited. Parking is ok. The products they carry are ok. However, they are usually out of stock of things, so more than one trip required per week. The meat department is great and employees are helpful. The other employees are often unhelpful and some are rude. read more
