Amazing service and food! They serve breakfast Friday thru Sunday! During the week they open at 10:30 and serve lunch at 11 am! Amazing fish fry on Friday nights. Awesome bloody Marys on Sundays! All you can eat crab legs and shrimp on Saturdays!

This was unexpected. Why? I was on my way back from a clinic, and wanted to find a non-chain restaurant for lunch. My Garmin noted this place was close by, and I went in without checking reviews. This is your typical bar, and it was Sunday, so I got to watch "Duh Bears" fight the Detroit Lions, with a bar full of fans. There were all sorts of events going on when I got there. I finally got the bartenders attention and got a menu. Tip one - Look at BOTH SIDES - the back side of the menu has SO much more. I went with a Balsamic Burger. It sounded really good, 1/3 lb of ground beef, with cheese and balsamic sauce, along with fries (or chips if you want). I went for the fries. I grabbed a Sprite since I had to drive 2 hours to get home and didn't want to drive under the influence. The burger came out, and it was: 1. HUGE. 2. Well-plated 3. Darn Good. The burger was cooked as requested, and tasted great. I did add salt to the fries, but they were hot and fresh. The Sprite was properly carbonated. I used the mens room, and didn't smell anything bad - it's being kept clean. Interior wise, there are a few pool tables, and a number of large flat screen TVs. The bar has several draft beers (I think 5) and more available. Would I take my kids here? Maybe not. Would I take a girlfriend or buddies? Oh yeah! Try it out.

    C19 bars with plastic cups.

I was heading to a 4th of July get together with family and friends so I was not going to support a lot of local businesses so as I drove past this place and I did a U turn and decided to get one beer. The bathroom was my first stop after driving for an hour and it was gross smelling and looking by the way. The place was mostly empty with C19 and being the 4th of July with 4 people in the place. The place must serve food because I saw a person leave with a styrofoam container and I could see a kitchen in the back. The place had a few taps with a green fist that said anti hero so I ordered that one which came in a plastic cup, WTF am I at a college party or a bar because restaurant have real plates and cups. The place has a pool table, music machine gambling machines etc. The bartender was bashing Trump while I was there and I thought that I can't go anywhere with out seeing or hearing about Trump. This was a one time stop I think and next time I will look for another place.

Dive bar, rude owner, expensive drinks. So many better places to go. I was not impressed.

Whiskey Diablo - Chilaquiles with birria

Even the 'spicy' sauce for the tacos was bland. We had to request salt just to be able to eat what we ordered. However, the tableside guacamole and chips were good.

Date of visit: December 13, 2025…read more I love a good Mexican place, and as much as I enjoy Carlos's, it is good to have other options for when I go to visit my friend in the McHenry/Spring Grove area. The restaurant is very large with a variety of seating options including some interesting swings. I say interesting because it's really more of a novelty than anything; honestly, do you really want to have a seat that moves while you're eating chips with salsa? The menu is interesting, with a heavy focus on birria (think brisket, if you're unfamiliar) including in a dipped/fried taco as well as a grilled cheese sandwich, which is what I went with. While the meat in the sandwich was good, there was very little cheese to speak of, and that should be an important component of a grilled...cheese. However the chips and salsa were excellent, with some of the best chips I've had in quite some time, they really taste like more. In terms of the salsa, they are not lying with the "Diablo" in their name. If you are not a fan of spicy, stay away from the salsas as even the mild is fairly potent after a few chips. Also note that sour cream is available but doesn't tend to come WITH things by default, so be prepared to ask for that if it's a key part of your Mexican meals. Also disappointing, the tacos come with raw onions on top. This isn't mentioned on the menu, and was a very unwelcome addition to the dish. Service was a bit of a mixed bag; Jasmine was nice and attentive but struggled on some aspects, including telling us what the three salsas were when she brought them to the table, and saying that birria was a "biscuit," which thoroughly confused us. She asked if we wanted more chips and we declined, but then she brought more anyways.
