Drove from Moline. It wasn't a pleasant experience. Waitress asked if we wanted water, which we never got. Ordered the Farmer's Breakfast. Bacon was dripping in grease, which ran on the American cube fries & made them greasy. Was charged 25 cents per cup for cream. Sugar container was on table at no additional cost. So I guess we'll have to order our coffee black & use sugar before they put the sugar in packets & charge for that too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Used to have nice art work on the walls. Now nothing on walls, just white paint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was more interested in tending to Grub Hub orders & talking among each other than tending to seated customers. I have been a regular customer of Krumpets for over 13 years and have loved their food and the service was always great. I know they are under new ownership and it shows; not for the good! I met up with family there today (December 26, 2025) and none of us will bother going back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The food was mediocre, menu selection has changed, and the service was poor, and the quaint ambiance is gone (they use to have nice artwork on the walls; now nothing).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had the menus printed on paper placemats (or we thought they were placemats), but they took them back when we ordered. They reuse these???? The menu has changed and not for the good. They had wonderful egg salad sandwiches, and don't even offer it anymore. At least they still had gluten-free bread. None of us enjoyed the food. The service was poor. Our wait staff knew nothing about the menu and couldn't answer any of our questions. We had to ask for items multiple times before she brought things to us (e.g., a glass of water). How sad that what was once a quaint wonderful place to eat, is no longer a place I can recommend. read more

Krumpets is a local restaurant that I have been visiting for a few years. Even after change of ownership, I'm happy that they kept the same menu and recipes. I never have a bad meal at Krumpets. The dessert is always delicious too. In regards to the service, the waitresses are welcoming and kind. Depending on the day and time service may be a bit slower than usual, but that is to be expected. The food is worth the wait if needed, in my opinion. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad as a side. For dessert, homemade apple pie served warm with vanilla ice cream. Yum! read more

We love this restaurant. Went today and had a fantastic Cobb salad on a bed of red leaf lettuce & spinach plus red onion & tomato. It was topped with a generous amount of bleu cheese, hard-boiled egg, avocado, bacon & chicken. All the ingredients were fresh as can be. There's nothing worse than a salad made of bagged, limp lettuce! The waitress was attentive despite the fact there were apparently only 3 on the floor to serve a full-to-capacity crowd - they were really slammed. My one suggestion for the owners is to mark the men's restroom as unisex as the entire clientele were women when we left save one man. Consequently, there was a line for the restroom. Some ladies used the men's room in spite of the male designation. BTW they serve fantastic bakery items & their coconut cream pie is delicious! read more

Back in Fulton and first place I wanted to go to was Krumpets. I had eyed their breakfast menu last time I was here and had been itching to try their grilled french toast. My mom ordered tea and it came in the cutest personal sized tea pot. I ordered an iced coffee with half & half and sugar free caramel. It was so good! Their Caesar salad from the last time I was there was also stuck in my brain, so being the weird person I am, I had to order that as well. it was just as good as I remembered. When my breakfast came out, I was not disappointed. The french toast was so delicious and the warm applesauce complimented it well. I'm definitely ordering this again next time I visit. To add to my weirdness I ordered 1 to go cookie (chocolate crinkle) at the table, then another (molasses) when we got at the register to pay. This was the day I was supposed to fly back so I kept both cookies in my carry on, and didn't eat try either till I actually got back to Austin the next day since my flight had been cancelled. My husband and I are huge fans of this place. What's not to love about a place that serves breakfast all day? We decided to try this place while we were stopping in Clinton. I can't believe I've never tried it before in all my visits to Clinton. It's probably the best eatery I've been to in this area. It was crowded and there was a little bit of a wait when we stopped by for lunch a couple of weekends ago, but that's how we knew we came to the right place. We were both hungry for breakfast so I ordered an omelet and my husband got the Farmer's Breakfast, both of which were delicious. My omelet was one of the best I've had in years. The hash browns that came with it tasted like they were made from freshly grated potatoes. I don't think I've ever eaten better hash browns. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The service was good and I really liked the atmosphere, too. The only reason I knocked off one star was because we waited 45 minutes for our food. I know it was lunch time and they were busy, but still. They have a huge menu and I can't wait to try some other things the next time I come back. The chocolate cake was calling my name but I didn't have room. Maybe next time. read more

Fulton is on its way up! There is a swarm of new, energetic businesses stocking the downtown stores of Fulton, and Krumpets is one of them. Just walking in the door, I decided I really, really liked this place. Warm and cozy, full of nice looking Midwestern people all cozied up on this day- after- thanksgiving afternoon, this eatery was filled to the brim. As luck would have it, they were able to to squeeze us in to a table in the back. SCORE! There was the cutest coffee/smoothie bar in the front that was stocked with homemade bars, cookies and pies. The smoothies are supposedly made from fresh fruit. I HAD to try one. I got the mango- it was just as good as a Jamba. I loved the local artwork on the walls and was able to spend much of my wait time looking at all of them. Pondering which one would look best in my collection of art. The wait for our 2 sandwiches and a wrap is part of the reason I cannot give Krumpets a solid 5 stars. We waited over 45 minutes and our waitress was scarce. The other reason I can't give 5 stars is the inconsistent portion sizes. The half sandwich of pulled pork was a very disappointing portion. It would have been nice to have received a warning from the waitress that the BBQ is dinky. My buffalo chicken wrap was good but not buffalo-y at all. My MIL's Reuben definitely scored best for value and flavor. (Please check out the pics) Will definitely return. I bet a more 'normal' day would make all the difference. :) read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants! Every time I come home to visit my parents, we go here. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. The owner and staff are all very friendly. They have a great breakfast and lunch selection. Some of my favorite items to eat for breakfast include their french toast, and eggs benedict. For lunch you cannot go wrong with their California burger (burger with avocado, onions, aioli, swiss cheese on a homemade bun) or uptown club (over-roasted turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato on wheat toast). My absolute favorite item is the black magic cake (chocolate cake with coffee undertones and a rich cream cheese frosting). I have attempted to make this cake myself and it never turns out as well. We were only in the area for a short time while traveling on the Great River Road but Krumpets is a Happy place, fantastic food and desserts you should not miss (even if you get them to go). Food prepared fresh, desserts baked in house daily! I wish we lived here. Lunch with 1/2 sandwich and salad is great and room for dessert. I love this place. The only thing holding me back from the fifth star is their hours. The food is great and the atmosphere nearly makes you forget you're in such a small town. I've yet to eat anything I don't love. My favorite lunches are the French Dip and any of their wraps. The bakery items are just as delectable as they look.
