When I came in, Dr. Rosenthal profusely apologized for the incompetence of his front staff, and told me that he knows they can be "disorderly" and told me to call his personal cell phone in the future. On the way out, I asked to pay, and I was told that I would be billed "later." Some time later, I received a "final notice" for a bill for $30. When I called in to ask what the hell was going on, the front office told me that they had made the decision to "terminate me as a client" for non-payment. She was also extraordinarily rude and combative. I view this as not only unethical, but illegal. I will be filing a formal complaint to the Medical Board of California.

However, I have moved and was forced to make that change. I was very thorough in my research before choosing Dr. Schultz' office. I reviewed licenses with the State Medical Board, I called and talked to specialists in the area to see who they recommended, I spoke with friends and neighbors, and I called and talked to the office staff in the practices I was considering. I am so happy with my choice. I have dealt with more than my share of medical offices and this one is great. The staff has been kind and patient, and they have taken care of all my referrals, billing, and prescriptions with great care. I also have been very impressed with the sweet way they care for the older patients I see in the office. Dr. Schultz spent more time with me than I expected. He is thorough and easy to talk to. I also appreciate that I felt more like he was a partner in my health instead of a preachy or didactic taskmaster, like many doctors can seem. I would appreciate it if they learn to value their patient's time! And if this is a recurring incidence, it would be helpful if they learn to schedule longer appointments and not schedule patients back-to-back in 15 minutes intervals. I was taking my son in for a follow-up post ER visit after having several focal seizures and was going to request a referral for a new neurologist. Long story short, Dr. Cheng became UNHINGED when she looked at her computer schedule. The appointment was noted on a different day, but when I told her the scheduler gave me this date and time she began yelling at us that she needed to see the new patient first and we would have to wait (mind you, we're already seated IN her office). When I told her that we had another appointment and that we couldn't wait, oh, she really got confrontational! I told her it was very unprofessional of her to react that way in front of my son who wasn't feeling the best. I had to calm him down in order to avoid causing another seizure.
