Is this location actually open? I know the answer is yes, because there have been cars there and a drive around the restaurant shows that there are employees inside. So why then, when I pull up to order, and wait 10-15 minutes for someone to take my order, does it never happen? Are employees intentionally ignoring customers trying to order? This has happened twice in the past 5 days. There's no sign in the drive-thru that the speaker is broken, or that you need to order at the window. Just no one taking orders. And yesterday the door was locked so you couldn't even go inside. This was between 930 and 1030am. Worst experience I think I've ever endured, every employee was equally at fault for the entire meal. To start, as soon as we opened the door to the restaurant we were greeted by 3 kids running around with no shoes on, screaming and tackling each other. At first I thought maybe a patron had run to the bathroom and left their kids unattended, but soon found out they were actually an employees as they screamed at the top of their lungs for more sprite. The person behind the counter was almost slurring with their words as they tried to repeat back my order with lots of confusion. I ordered my meal at 5:38 pm and continued to watch and listen to these wild children terrorize the other patrons with shrieks loud enough to crack glass. After 20 or so minutes the only person that even remotely looked like a manger, came out to check on the kids in the dining room then proceeded to give them the thumbs up as my self and other patrons just stood and watched with confusion and anger. Another 15 minutes went by (still with no food) when the employee at the drive through widow stated that they were so far behind that they were losing orders on the screen. Several drive through customers came inside to complain about waiting and how they're drinks weren't even full. Finally after things seemed to continue to degrade my food arrived across the counter and was not only wrong but cold. This is the worst experience I've ever had, and I understand this isn't a fancy steakhouse, but the service and quality here are putrid. We were served quickly and with courtesy here. We got what we came for and more - Krystal w/ Cheese!? Nashville HOT chicken!?! We appreciated the 5 for $5.99 deal - for almost any combo of drinks, sides, and sandwiches - and got the best bang for our bucks with all Krystal and Chik sandwiches. I don't live in Tuscaloosa, but I have been to the Krystal on Macfarland a number of times to grab a sack of burgers after a night on the town. Krystal is what it is. You get your sack of cheap and reasonably tasty burgers, and you hope for the best. The surly service can be a bit frightening, and lord help you if you brave the dining room during a Saturday night rush.
