I wanted to like this restaurant, since the service was decent and I like the entertainment value of hibachi. However, I can't recommend eating here because the food itself was a real disappointment. I'm a moderately practiced cook, so I have a decent sense of how long meat & fish needs on the grill. As the chef was going through his schtick of sharing sake all around, I was getting increasingly nervous about my poor little shrimps and my wife's noble steak (ordered medium rare). Needless to say, when I actually got to try the shrimp it was a dry and rubbery disappointment, and the steak was, well, done. Honestly the fried rice and vegetables weren't anything to write home about either. I'll stick to the once a year guilty pleasure of a trip to Beni Hana when I want to watch someone make an onion volcano. Pros: -Decent atmosphere/service. -Entertaining use of onions and fire. -Liked the dressing on the salad. Proceed with caution here. My husband and I both recently got food poisoning at this restaurant. It was determined to be a giardiasis infection likely due to "improper hand washing" by someone on staff. This is not a pleasant experience to go through and up until that afternoon we were completely healthy yet within the same time frame we both fell violently ill. It's a shame because the food had been good at the time and we really wanted to love their hot pot and the tempura. But we will absolutely be avoiding this place and they'll be (hopefully) getting a visit from the board of health soon. :( read more

The hibachi was pretty good. I've gone to quite few hibachi places. This one took a little longer than usual, so by the time the chef finished the whole thing, part of it was cold. The sushi was ok, but I've had better. I was definitely annoyed to not see the server very often. I sat with an empty drink for quite a while. read more

The BEST spot to get sushi in the area. I was hesitant to get sushi in Western Mass at first but this spot blew my expectation out of the water. All of the rolls that I have tried are delicious and the hibachi is very tasty and cooked to perfection. The hibachi chef's always perform amazing. The only thing I dislike is that you have to choose either the miso soup or the salad. Our favorite local sushi spot. The sushi is fresh and high quality. They have all the standards plus some of the slightly more exotic foods. On occasion, they also will bring in some of the more rare finds especially for this area. I generally stick to sushi/sashimi, with a roll or two. It is always good. We've never had a bad meal here. My standards include scallop, uni, yellowtail belly, salmon, unagi and tobiko w qual egg. When they have it, be sure to order the Japanese Oyster and Live Scallop. I have had both prepared by Eric at the sushi bar and they are perfect in every sense. Rolls that top my list include the black pepper tuna roll, spicy scallop roll and salmon avocado/cucumber. We have tried the hibachi side a few times. Though I don't care for it as much as sushi personally, it is very good with fair portion sizes. The experience is fun and includes the standard hibachi tricks; onion volcano, catching pieces of veg or shrimp in your mouth, sake waterfalls etc. This is best in groups of 5 or more and great for kids (not the sake part...). Their hot sake is a nice addition to a sushi plate. If that is not your preference, they have a variety of other nice drinks from the bar to enjoy. The value here is good for what you are getting. You won't find better quality vs price in the area. Believe me, we've been to them all. The staff is as high quality as the sushi. Eddie and Becky run the show and are two of the nicest most attentive folks you'll meet. When things get busy, they don't sit back and watch. They are very involved managers. The servers and other staff are always very friendly. Service is relatively fast depending the number of diners, but is never out of hand no matter how packed the place gets. We eat here at least once every other week and have been steady patrons for over 3 years. If you've never been or haven't been in a while, you need to get here. First time coming here, went with my friend, was seated and taken care of immediately, quick service, waited maybe 5-10 minutes for our food, which was amazing. I got the spicy chicken pad thai. Very spicy but has an amazing flavor as well. Water was refilled without asking. Prices are very cheap for the amount of food that you get. I took home an almost full container after eating about half of it in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Also cost the two of us less than $25, together! This is one of our favorite spots to eat. Our daughters love the hibachi and watching the chef cook the food. If you order hibachi, it is a bit pricy, but I figure part of what you pay is for the entertainment. I have never had a bad experience here. Sometimes it is a little difficult dealing with the waitstaff because of the language barrier, but in my opinion that is to be expected. We love K's! read more

As good as some choices in Northampton, this place offers hibachi, sushi, and just plain good Asian takeout in a town with limited options (pizza, anyone? bad/mediocre Chinese?). Just visited for the first time, for my sister's 13 birthday. We had a group of twelve and the staff was amazing. The kids loved the hibachi and the hibachi chef was awesome! Great service was the first thing I noticed about the restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming even at 10 pm. My fiancé and I were seated at the hibachi and our order was taken quickly. We didn't have to wait long for the chef to come out, an experience I have not often had at other hibachi restaurants! The chef was funny and flawless making no mistakes as he performed his routine! After he finished preparing our food we dug in. The good was very good, not the best hibachi I've had, but definitely a top three! When the check came I was surprised at how low the price was! DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE. I asked to see the soy sauce bottle and googled the brand which stated they are NOT gluten free. The staff barely speaks English and said that their supplier says it's GF, they were ignorant and did not seem to care that they could send someone to the hospital- they would not listen- I even showed them the manufacturers statement online. Went to this hibachi for the first time tonight and it was just OK, to start our wait staff wasn't really good at all and kept screwing up the small stuff, two of our plates at the hibachi were dirty and had to be replaced, you actually have to ask for chopsticks, any hibachi I've been to were already on your plate when you sat down!! The atmosphere was less than welcoming and it was super cold inside, place needs a gallon of paint or two and could use some clean up!!! Our chef was great and kept us entertained, the food was also very good, however every other hibachi I've been too both the soup and salad were included in the hibachi, here you have to choose one or the other? If I were to choose I'd def pick Osaka in Northampton or Oyama in Enfield over this place in a heartbeat!!! read more

I just moved to Westfield and I've had sushi from numerous places in the Boston and the Worcester Area. First we had the cream cheese bites. I thought it was going to be crab rangoons but I guess that's why they named them cream cheese bites lol it was legit cream cheese with a bit of crab. Still delicious tho because I love cream cheese! I then had the heaven roll and it was pretty good! I'm going to try a different specialty roll each time I come since I only live a few minutes away. I did ask for no avocado but she forgot. It's ok tho it still tasted great! The roll was a bit smaller compared to other sushi places I've gone to. Other places seem to really pack the roll and I'm usually stuffed afterwards but theirs left me yearning for more. The waiter was pretty quick and very attentive as she asked my husband how his food was a few times. Maybe, because she thought he was cute ;) lol jk idk but he ordered the chicken hibachi which he devoured. But back to the waitstaff. It was nice to see that they worked together because we had multiple waitstaff/host maybe even the owner stop by our table. Our business felt very appreciated by then. Great atmosphere as well.
