We met Stormy at my best friend's wedding last year and were impressed with her work and decided to give her a shot. We did a shoot on Mt Rainier in the snow and had a wonderful experience and received beautiful pictures. Simultaneously, I was interested in doing a boudoir shoot with her as well so I paid the deposit. The month I was set to shoot, my company downsized and I lost my job creating a significant financial hardship on my family. I reached out immediately to let her know and see if she was willing to refund me. She said she was not as she was not obligated to fill the time slot but would be willing to apply it to another family shoot with our pets which sounded like an acceptable alternative. I recently started sharing photos from an earlier boudoir shoot and upon contacting her to schedule a family session, she replied with a passive aggressive message on social media saying I "misled her" by shooting with another photographer and she was not willing to make a contract exception now. It's clear in reading similar negative reviews that she is in it for the money versus taking care of or working with clients and then unjustly accusing them. Very disappointed. We will be going back to our regularly family photographer who is phenomenal and willing to work with her clients and make sure they feel truly taken care of. Enjoy your extra money. I can't say enough wonderful things about Stormy and her husband Michael! My husband and I eloped and then had a shotgun wedding and hired Stormy for our wedding photography. When you hire Stormy, you're getting more than just a photographer and more than just an artist. Her entire business philosophy is based on serving her clients to the fullest, and you can tell right away that she means it. Once you become her client she integrates you into her Stormy Bride Community (a closed Facebook group) where you can share info with other brides. All I can say is, our experience with Stormy started wonderfully and ended in a pretty horrible way. We signed with Stormy to photograph our wedding celebration, which got postponed, and then ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and state restrictions on large gatherings. With what was a decision that we felt we had no control over, Stormy--in the end--showed absolutely no understanding and forgiveness in our need to cancel our event. There is so much more to it that I could write out--ways in which she ignored our pleas to please keep the deposit money (as we knew it was and should be non-refundable) but forgive the rest for no event, calling me a liar and stating my emails pleading my case were "aggressive," making us pay the full contract amount, offering to fully refund and then reneging on that offer.... SO many details that left me so shocked and hurt. She was the ONLY vendor we worked with that didn't show compassion and let us out of the remainder of the contract. The ONLY one. That says a lot. In the beginning I thought she was the kindest, most organized, and most generous photographer I could've found... one I hoped to have a longtime friendship with. Boy, was I wrong. Talented photographer but such bad business choices and practices--ESPECIALLY during a pandemic. So buyer beware: If everything goes perfectly, you'll probably have a great time with Stormy and be happy with your photos... but she holds to the contract with no exceptions and quickly turns into a cold, black & white business woman if things go wrong. read more

Stormy is such a pleasure. Not only are her photos outstanding but she really takes the time to listen to your ideas and goes out of her way to make the process enjoyable. Stormy gives perfect instructions to make the most out of the time she has with you and so she can guarantee beautiful pictures. We selected Stormy because we loved her light and airy style. Little did we know we were also getting such a lovely and joyous women to work with!! She is so sweet and made what could be an awkward couple hours of posing feel like a fun adventure date night with my fiancé. He is always someone who has a hard time smiling on cue but with her presence and joking with us we got his real smile throughout all the shoot. She overdelivered in every aspect of this process, and we are only just getting started. We LOVE our engagement photos. We were also a bit in a rush to get a photo out for our save the dates. Normal wait time can be close to two weeks after shooting, but she turned around a handful of top edits to us just days later. She also committed to 40 edits, but ended up sharing out 135, because she took so many good ones! We are SO happy we chose her and cannot wait for her to capture our special day ahead. I highly recommend Stormy Peterson Photography. Stormy Peterson took my daughter Kendra's senior photos. Stormy and her husband worked well together to make Kendra feel comfortable during her photo shoot. They were both friendly, had a great sense of humor, and were just easy to work with. She really takes pride in her work and we got our proofs very quickly. We got so many good pictures that it was hard to choose the perfect ones. Where do I even begin with this girl!? Well for starters, and the complete obvious, she is so gifted and talented! She makes you feel so comfortable not only in front of the lens (which let me tell you, I am NOT and neither is my fiance), but also in making sure you are getting what you want out of the pictures and bringing your vision to life. She guides you through every motion, every glance, every smile. Stormy was SO incredibly helpful with helping me pick outfit colors and ideas and scoring the perfect location (If only you could see the back and forth of our text thread and my indecisiveness!). From our first meeting in a coffee shop to the engagement session and everything in between, I'm so glad I found Stormy and CANNOT wait for her to capture our wedding day in the exact same beauty and grace as our engagement pictures. BUYER BEWARE: The extreme disappointment you feel when you realize that the true character of someone is not what you thought it was: When the Covid Pandemic forced the cancellation of my daughter's dream wedding, and financially devastated her, we put together a very small, outdoor, family only wedding and paid a separate contract for photos by Stormy. The contract for the original wedding was changed to a 2021 reception, but when state mandates limited receptions to 50, still required masks, and no dancing, we decided we couldn't financially justify an expensive reception. All vendors we had booked with were so kind, understanding, and graciously refunded deposits already paid - except Stormy. Even though we had already paid 50% of the contract, we didn't expect any of the deposit money to be returned - feeling that the $1500 more than covered the "complimentary engagement session" and "gifts". Because my daughter and her husband suffered financial devastation having to relocate due to Covid and job loss, we respectfully asked that Stormy and her husband graciously forgive the rest of the contract - since we couldn't afford an expensive reception that wouldn't be what we hoped it would. Stormy was ruthless with multiple terse email exchanges, insisting we had to pay the remaining 50% of the contract even though no services would be rendered, making up charges that were for her "email and correspondence" time, and even threatening to add late charges, which was illegal. Given the pandemic and it's aftermath, we didn't feel we were asking for anything that wasn't fair and reasonable,... and I found legal advice to photographers on the internet that supported our reasoning. After much negative correspondence, I finally paid the rest of the contract for my daughter. Then, Stormy responded she would consider giving it back, if my daughter met with her. When she tried to set up an appointment, Stormy ignored her, and then sent back a small portion she considered a "refund." When hired, Stormy will act as though she is your best friend, but as we sadly found, Stormy and her husband, are the types that will "kick you when you're down".
