Came here with some folks who went to Kutztown for undergrad. It was their favorite local pub when they were in school and after coming here I totally understand why. FOOD: Surprisingly good for a pub. They make their own Kim Chi, which feels unheard of for a pub in the middle of PA to me. My friend and I shared the: 1) Mac & Cheese with blue cheese - the mac was too soft and the blue cheese too strong comparatively to the rest of the cheese 2) Side of Kim Chi - delicious and MADE IN HOUSE!!! 3) Pineapple taco - this was the favorite thing we ordered 4) Brisket Cheesesteak - okay, nothing too special. brisket was tender but definitely need to add sauce to get flavor 5) Duck nachos - pretty okay but probably wouldn't order again, took a long time for the kitchen to get out. Duck was tender and it came with that tasty kim chi, but the nacho cheese was weird compared to the rest of what was on it SERVICE: Our waitress was really sweet. She talked through beer options with me to help me choose a sour beer and I ordered something she recommended. She soon came back when she realized my beer was out of stock and brought two cans for me to choose from. Love coming here, especially because they're open on Sundays and Mondays when I'm off. Theres a long bar with plenty of seating with an open view of their kitchen. Theres a pool table and I believe darts. The service is always excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful when trying to decide on what to get. The food is ridiculously good. L.E.G.I.T. smoked wings and brisket. They had a limited menu the day they were at Yergey Brewing due to a food truck malfunction, but that didn't stop them from dishing out some kick a** food! If this is what they serve when they have limited facilities, I can't imagine what they can do at the taphouse and with a fully functioning truck! If I lived in the area, I would be stalking their Food Truck schedule religiously! Seriously though, it was so great to work with this team for the event I held at the Brewery this past weekend. This place is incredible. Friendly servers, lively atmosphere, not one but two weekend happy hours a night, and absolutely delicious food. The food had tons of flavor and really hit the spot. The mango margarita was average, a bit sweet, and not a ton of flavor, but everything else was amazing. The burger slider, pulled chicken sandwich, pulled pork tacos, and smoked wings were soooo good. We actually got dinner there two nights in a row- in person Friday and then a pickup order Saturday. Went here after work for dinner while working in Kutztown. My boss recommended that I go and he was spot on! Great craft beer selection. Was watching the cook make the tacos and I had to try them. Had the pork and chicken. Both combos were awesome as all the ingredients meshed well together. My favorite was the chicken with the Fritos crumbled in the taco to give it that extra crunch. After driving since 6am, we arrived in Kutztown around 1pm for an overnight stay and we were hungry! So, I reached for my phone and quickly brought up restaurants in the area on my Yelp app. The reviews for K'Town Pub caught my eye reading about the apple butter bbq sauce. It was official...we were going here for lunch! I ordered the nachos with brisket and apple butter bbq sauce. I also ordered the smoked wings with apple butter bbq sauce. Others in my party ordered the trio of tacos, the Mac & cheese burger and a quesadilla. I ordered my nachos without cheese and sour cream, as I have a dairy allergy. Happily, when I received my food, those items were on the side. The nachos were really good. I enjoyed the bbq sauce with the smoked brisket and the candied jalapeños. The wings were good...but not hot. They had a very smoky flavor and the bbq sauce is served on the side. However, the bbq sauce was ice cold, so that turned me off a bit. My son devoured his burger and my fiancé enjoyed his taco trio. He said all the tacos were distinct in flavor (duck, brisket and pork tacos). Stopped in here after dinner with my son and some friends. He goes there often as he lives in the town. I was impressed with the selection of drinks and the size of the place. They also serve food, which I didn't try, but my son says is pretty decent! The atmosphere was nice, the bartenders were very friendly and the drinks were good. Beef brisket Mac and cheese was priced right and was exactly what it said it was. Mac and cheese add the perfectly smoked beef brisket. I ordered the taco trio as well. Brisket taco, done in a classic style was very good. Smoked duck taco with poblano cream (house made) and pickled onion was very rich and also very good. Pulled pork banh mi was really good to wrap up the trio. All the fixings on the tacos are house made and fresh. I sampled one of the smoked wings and they were huge, meaty, and well smoked. The BBQ sauces here are all house made, even a white BBQ sauce! My favorite was the apple butter BBQ sauce. Selection of craft beer is vast and they take pride in the selection of tap beers. Pit Master Zack Kisslinger has done a fine job here, I'll be back. Addition cost notes: Burnt End Cheesesteak. Not in menu, special request. This is a college town and this was certainly a college bar so I'm glad we were there early. Owners and staff were super nice and friendly. The food was good. I was looking for a BBQ platter with brisket, ribs, etc. The owner said they are not a typical BBQ place, just more a college bar then restaurant. It showed as the food was good but not on par with a typical BBQ joint. However, wings were meaty and fell off the bone, sauces were good, quesadilla was good and my wife enjoyed her brisket cheesesteak. Definitely give this place a try. Had a GREAT meal and experience here tonight! Never having been here, we asked the server/bartender what he liked. After learning it was our first time there, he suggested the Taco Trio to try a little of each of their smoky specialties. Wings were full of flavor and my husband and I both had the Taco Trio ... chicken (which my husband substituted for Duck), beef and pork! Each had it's own distinctive toppings and we loved them all! We have finally found a fantastic place in town and will definitely be back! Get there early if you want the mac and cheese ... because it is home made by the tray, they could easily sell out. We had such an excellent experience here Saturday evening. We tried the brisket nachos, the taco trio (with duck), pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, wings (omg...amazing) and the brisket torta.
