I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because because our situation hasn't turned out fully awful (yet) and Rene did help us out in a unique situation. I originally contacted Rene to purchase 4 baby chicks. Immediately the communication was tough. Only through text, the responses were very slow and short and wouldn't answer all of the questions, the tone was very dry. I get it, she's busy on the farm. But we discussed which breeds and I paid. She met me in a random motel parking lot and handed over the 4 babies, it felt like a chickie drug deal. She said customers cannot come to the farm because of bio hazards, I'm sure that's a legitimate reason but it also feels like a convenient excuse to keep people away from seeing what I assume is just a mess. I asked if she could send me any photos and her response was "if I sent customers photos I'd be doing it all day". That should give you an idea of the vibe of her texts and again seems weird we can't see the living situation before adopting live animals. Rene it sounds like you have a need for photos, maybe get someone else to do it??? One of the babies was NOT what we had agreed upon and she didn't even tell me ahead of time, just handed me that baby along with the others. Whatever. One of those babies ended up dying on night number two, who knows why, it's probably not Rene's fault. The other 3 grew up to be healthy and thrive. Unfortunately that one she gave us that was different from what we ordered grew up to be incredibly loud and obnoxious. It was an issue with our neighbors. So I reached out to Rene and asked if there was any way I could trade her for the type we originally wanted. She agreed to it and I also said I'd like to buy an additional one since we originally wanted 4 anyway. I wanted adults this time to make it easier to introduce them faster to our other two and she told me she only had young babies. Fine. Again the communication was so slow but we finally got her to do it. She brought me two full on adult chickens. This is after we prepped for babies and bought baby chick food, etc. I thought she said she didn't have adults?? So here's the bigger issue now. The 2 new ones she brought arrived sick. Their eyes are bubbly and watery, they're sneezing. She claims she examined them before selling them but I'm calling BS. Within one minute of getting them home I could tell they were sick and I'm no expert. They were also all grimy which she claims is because she sprayed them with something to kill mites. She offered to swap them out again but now I actually feel bad about sending these girls back to this disaster and feel terrible we sent the baby we raised back there. So we took these two new girls to the vet and spent $300 on antibiotics that didn't work and the vet said she's heard of this place and people having health issues with their chickens so this is common. In summary, Rene is not doing this because she loves Chickies. It's clear they're just livestock to her and she seems completely unorganized and unaware of what breeds she has, what ages of chickens she has, and the place is covered in mites and obviously mareks too and good luck getting responses out of her. Please go join the group on Facebook called Backyard Chickens (similar name but not associated with this farm) and you will find resources and people there to help you start your flock if you're looking to do it.

They are also closed on many holidays, check the hours of operation before visiting. -They participate in Bank of America Museums on Us. Thanks to the friendly person at the front desk who mentioned this. -This museum is near La Jolla Cove which if you like birds, is not to be missed! The museum has three floors and nice outdoor areas including a restaurant. The museum overlooks an absolutely stunning coastline. They go a little overboard with recordings and staff asking patrons to stay away from the art (I get it, but geez!). Be ready for that, especially if you have kids. The Nick Cave fringy art is just too tempting for kids. I went to look out a window and was told to stay back, I mean really. They have a "calm room", and you might need to use that to calm down from being told to stay away from the art so much! Haha. I saw the Giants Alicia Keys exhibit which was great. The movie I could barely hear. They have tons of merch in the store for the exhibit, however I really wanted a t-shirt that was for the museum and not the specific exhibit, but they didn't have any.

It's located on the inside of a mall, but there's not even a sign that specifies that AMC is there. Just know that once you've passed by Trader Joe's and start walking to Ralph's, you've gone too far. As for parking, I think on the lower level, which is also hard to pinpoint from the main road (depending on where you're driving from, I've been told there's a parking garage). For me, I just ended up parking near the Trader Joes's/PetSmart side, which offered plentiful and more manageable parking. Aside from that, I totally understand what everyone means by the odd parking situation now lol. Once I found the theatre, it wasn't a bad experience. Staff was friendly, bathrooms, for the most part were clean. The inside felt a little outdated, but the reclining seats were comfortable! Keep in mind that they WILL make some loud squeaky noises if you're trying to adjust the positions mid-movie. I'm not sure if I'll be back to this AMC specifically, but I can't say I had a completely terrible experience either.

Unfortunately, due to public transportation, I was unable to make it to the theater as early as I wanted. My movie started @ 1:30, but I didn't make it inside until about 1:40 or so. The trailers were still playing, but the lights were off inside and the other guests seemed to already have their food/drinks. So, I attribute some of the mishap to that. However, there were less than ten people in the theater. So, keep that in mind as well. I ordered poke nachos, a popcorn, and a soda. Pretty simple order, right? My "host" brought out the popcorn + drink pretty swiftly. The popcorn tasted stale, just like another time I'd visited. Even though I'm pretty sure their 1:30 movies are their first showing. About halfway through the movie, I pressed the call button because I still hadn't received my nachos. The host said, "They might be ready now. Let me check." Translation: "I forgot them." That was pretty annoying. Especially as this is the third time something like this has occurred at The Lot. And I've only been three times in total. Luckily, the popcorn was free because it was my birthday, which I had to remind the host twice before he tried charging me. Do not order it unless you enjoy stale popcorn. The Icee was a little more slushy than icy, but that was my only minor complaint. The theater was extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable. The reclining seats were great, and there was plenty of room between guests so you never felt crowded. One tip: bring a sweater or wear pants because it gets chilly inside, and the leather seats can feel a little cold and uncomfy against bare skin. it's a solid hotel in a challenging but convenient location…read more the good? it's right off la jolla village road and the 5. get off the freeway, go west one light and then turn left and then immediately left into a small cul de sac, and there is the hotel. there is a large shopping center you can access through the back of the parking lot with your hotel key. there is a handel's ice cream stand that is right there for late-night sweets, as well as a rubio's tacos, a cava, a whole foods and CVS. across the street you have a ralph's shopping center and a chick fil a with a whole bunch of other things. so location is great. it's not too noisy being right next to the freeway, so that's also good. the downside? well, the outside of the buildings are more holiday inn than they are sheraton/hilton/marriott level to me. the rooms are fine and the beds and shower are definitely reflective of sheraton reputation, but the separate buildings that are all two stories tall have a more holiday inn vibe. didn't try the pool or the amenities, but the restaurant has decent food and seems to be always empty (sucks that the hotel has to lose money on this). the prices are hotel pricing, but the food is solid--no qualms there. the dining room is colder than a witch's tit, though--what is up with 60-63 degrees being the ambient temperature? rooms are noisy because of this design i mentioned. if you had a tall high rise then it would be a lot quieter without people constantly getting into and out of the building. parking is also a crappy lot that isn't well maintained in the back. imagine a typical LA street as far as condition and that's what you have. and they stick you for $30 per night for that. but honestly it's not a bad location and the service is good and polite. i just wish it were a tall high rise with a better parking lot--covered parking would be great. it's an open lot. would i come back? sure. would it be my first choice? no. i would head more into la jolla to find a high rise hotel with covered parking next time. but the location is great.
