Ordered quite a few apps and two entrees. Unfortunetly a very forgettable meal. Still looking for "great" Chinese food in Pueblo.

My son and I stopped in at Kuan's Kitchen on a Monday afternoon for lunch. I ordered the chicken pad Thai, and my son had the curry, and we each got a soda. The service was great, and our food came out hot, fresh, and in huge portions. I enjoyed the pad Thai -- it wasn't quite as authentic as I personally prefer, but it still tasted good. My son really liked his curry, and we both had plenty of leftovers to take home. Overall, a great lunch spot and we'd come back again. read more

I used to love this place. Everything I tried or got from them was excellent, particularly the Banh Huy noodles, Singapore noodles and fried rice. They had a somewhat spartan but clean, pleasant dining area and really friendly staff who always made me feel welcome. Then, the wuhan flu struck. I believe they just shut down. Since they re-opened they have been doing only drive-up. I didn't know this when calling in an order a couple months ago. I arrived, expecting to walk in and pick up my order. I found the dining area dark and the door locked. It seemed the only option to get my order was to drive around and get in the line of several cars and wait for the drive up window. I called them and they were kind enough to bring my order out. That time, the food was good. More recently my wife braved the drive up line and brought home food. Hers was good. I tried their version of General Tso's Chicken. Most disappointing. Instead of nice crispy crunchy nuggets of dark meat in a tangy sauce, it was ball-like lumps of what seemed like started out as pancake batter. Sauce was bland and whatever was inside the lumps may or may not have been actual chicken. The disappointment was compounded by the fact that they still haven't opened for indoor dining. Now, it may be that they have not been able to get the help sufficient to open the dining room. But, I have the feeling that they decided that they could make a bit more money by not paying to maintain and serve the dining room. So, sad to say, Kuan's is off my list of Asian places in Pueblo, which is unfortunate because we have so few already. read more

Horrid. Drive through only. 1. Ordered Happy Family. Was given a bag with a styrofoam container that leaked all over my car. Was supposed to serve four people, Got less than a cup of rice. INVEST IN BETTER CONTAINERS if you are going to charge $25. 2. Golden Egg roll was mush. I tasted nothing but mush. 3. Got Sweet and Sour chicken. No peppers, no pineapple. It was over-cooked dark meat dry pieces of over-breaded chicken (I hope) and a 1/4 cup of rice. 4. Also got a rice dish - can't remember the name (Mongolian, arabic, maybe?) It was dry rice with few tiny vegetables, mushy shrimp tossed with turmeric. Bland and boring. 5. Hot and Sour soup. I've been here before, ordered this and got it with NO pork. Ordered EXTRA pork this time and there were 7 tiny pieces of pork in it. Go elsewhere. There are MANY other MUCH better places in Pueblo. read more

My only complaint is really not a complaint. I just want my vegetarian rice paper spring rolls were rolled a bit tighter. I try and I rip it ..more mess. I realize where I am at and where I'm from. Possibly the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. I told myself after the first time that I'd never eat there again. I forgot and tried it again a second time. My daughter reminded me that I said never again the last time. The food was extreme salty, the teriyaki chicken special tasted like it was from last week, and even the pot stickers were under cooked. Go to Wonderful Bistro instead. Kuan's is horrible. read more

I've never seen a drive through with fresh Chinese food. We placed our order over the phone so that it was made fresh and had no issues. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night in or living room picnic. Wife & I split orange chicken and sesame chicken with shrimp fried rice. Orange chicken was beyond great, sesame chicken lacked taste and was a little dry. I would suggest extra sauce on the side. Toddle had veggie tofu- a great selection of nice sized veggies for a vegetarian. read more

This restaurant wasn't my first choice...but perhaps it should have been. Initially I was turned off by the"drive thru"...thinking that I really wanted a sit down dinner and not something"fast-food"... Well, I was wrong. Yes there is a drive thru, and yes they sell donuts...but after entering, the most favorable smells of Vietnamese food engulfed me...ahh, wonderful. There are about 10 tables and tonight better than half were filled with patrons...young and older...enjoying those wonderful food creations that I smelled earlier. Quite the menu, but with some help from the young lady at the counter, I settled upon the pepper shrimp, Vietnamese egg roll, and a smaller bowl of beef pho. They do have many complete meals, but I went "a la carte"...maybe a little more expensive but this way I can have what I want and nothing extra mixed in. First to arrive was the pepper shrimp...steaming hot and very tasty. Up next came the Vietnamese egg roll...equally as tasty. Last up came the beef pho...not bad, but different...the beef had an odd look and was grizzly, and I do believe that it's the broth that decides success or failure, and while good it wasn't fantastic...I left most of the pho uneaten. All said and done...not bad, I would come back for sure...maybe try a few different entrees. read more

So Kuans is pretty unique I would say, its an all in one Asian quick food and drive thru, they serve pretty much anything you can think of, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, on this occasion I had the Thai curry soup with veggies, the curry with coconut m8lk was not horribly bad, but the lack of veggies was, it was loaded with onions though, and I mean LOADED! I wish I could have had carrots and peas, the only other vegetable I could detect were shredded potatoes, and those were few. The steamed rice was ok, and also had the steamed dumpling they were decent All in all not a bad place, but not sure if you can find any other in Pueblo, lol read more

I couldn't be more thankful for this place. Living in San Diego, we are spoiled with all different cultures of food. My sister moved to Colorado and is very pregnant right now. She had a huge craving for Vietnamese spring rolls but couldn't find one that would deliver as it was already 7pm. Mind you, I'm in San Diego so I can't just drive and bring her spring rolls so I called Kuan's Kitchen and they were able to whip up a couple orders of spring rolls along with chicken fried rice, veggie pad Thai and a cheeseburger (picky toddler) and deliver it to Mrs. Preggo and her family. They raved about how delicious it was and how full they were. Thank you Kuan's Kitchen for helping to fill my sister's belly with her craving and now being her go to place for Vietnamese food. read more

I don't know how to feel about this place. I love the food and the service. I don't think anyone has the ability to quickly whip up 100 items so the microwave gets a lot of use here. I think there is a reason other than Covid that the dining room is closed. Drove up one day to a closed place and a guy in a HazMat suit taking a Cigg break trying to fight back whatever monster was living inside. Best Pad Thai in Pueblo! The prices are fair and portions hearty. I also had their Thai Fried Rice and it was really good. Good seasoning and lots of meat. My daughter rates their Peach Boba Tea as a must have. I'm not a Boba tea fan, but this was good. I've always done their drive through and called ahead. read more

I originally declared this place to offer the greatest Asian cuisine in Pueblo, CO and gave it five stars. While, on that occasion, the food, the experience, etc... was amazing, subsequent visits have been hit or miss. The nice yellow Chinese curry I had on the first occasion has never been as good since and, on two occasions, I was served Thai yellow curry instead of Chinese (they offer both). I like the Thai curry well enough but what I was looking for when I went in was something else entirely. When I discover a dish I like at a given restaurant, I tend to eat it almost exclusively and rarely deviate. As such, getting switched up is unsettling! The place has remained clean and the service is still cheery and prompt. Check your order before you go! read more

I was told by some locals that this was not a good place to eat.However after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try since it's close to where I work, and boy was I glad I did!!!! The shrimp noodles we got along with the spring rolls were satisfyingly good!! The portions were huge and I was able to share. They even have fresh donuts in the morning of all varities. So please go and spread the word, this little place was awesome! I'll be back again and again. read more

i love kuan's so much. they have a variety of dishes and everything is good. tofu is always on point and veggies are cooked perfectly. everyone is super friendly and polite. highly recommend king pao tofu and spring rolls with tofu + hoisin/peanut sauce. only downside is no more indoor dining but drive thru is super fast. read more

Up near University Park, it's in the shopping center with the Big Lots. So hard to see from the road. But they have delivery. Friendly and fast service. And good, real meat. Not little dried up bits. Sometimes the fried rice is a little bland. But it's always moist and tasty. The portions are large and will last you at least two meals. If you eat in the restaurant (I don't know who does that with Chinese food, but just in case someone does), there are always seats. The bathroom was clean and so was the rest of the place. My only real complaint is that they close at 9. I get off work at 9 and I'm usually hungry. And the university is right next door. Keep the drive thru open until 11. I bet that would be a big hit at the college. And I would stop by. read more

I love Kuan's Kitchen. The food is great, reasonably priced and the staff are always super nice. So, it really makes me sad and angry to post this review. It has been 17 months since the covid insanity shut this restaurant down. I don't know when they opened for take-out. Yesterday I was looking forward to returning to dining at the Kitchen with a friend for lunch. It was not to be. My friend arrived to find that the dining room was STILL closed. Take out only. It's been close to two months since the emergency order was FINALLY rescinded by CO governor. There doesn't seem to be an excuse for the staff to still not have the dining room open. Now, it may be that they are dealing with a lack of staff. However, they did not indicate this in the sign on the door. That just told us that they are concerned about covid "safety". Sad to say, I may not bother trying to visit Kuan's in the future, since I have no way of knowing when they'll get over their fear. read more

Food is very good as are the portions. We always order to go because the dining room already seems dirty, hence the 1 star subtraction. Dirty wads of napkins under the table legs and sticky floors don't exactly make me want to stick around. Donuts are good too if you're there in the morning. Just take them with you :) read more

Was DYING to get some Asian takeout after a long days work. It took a lot to convince my girlfriend to do so. She wanted to go out for sushi... I finally convinced her that cozying up on the couch with some take out was far better than going home, getting dressed and going back out again. That was my mistake. We ordered the pot stickers and an Indonesian curry with carrots and peanuts to go. The pot stickers were moderately tasty and the sauce was adequate. Kind of worried what was in the mystery filling though. The Indonesian curry with carrots and peanuts contained not one peanut or piece of carrot. As well it was SO salty it was barely edible. In fact it wasn't edible but we forced ourselves to eat it as we needed some sort of nourishment but REALLY didn't want to go out again as we were already in our pajamas. Upon reflection we should've just tossed the curry and ordered a pizza. Needless to say I was in the doghouse for the rest of the night! Thanks Kuan's! That being said... I WILL give them ONE more chance as there aren't very many choices for decent Asian cuisine in this town. As well I overheard the server say that the cook was out doing deliveries that evening as their regular driver called in sick. Wondering if it was the good cook who was out delivering food while the salt loving, carrot and peanut hating understudy was in the kitchen. read more

Thai restaurant that is a donut shop in the morning. They have a limited donut selection, but it was still fresh at 0845 on a saturday. They are very limited on breakfast drinks. Regular coffee and plain milk are about it. The counter guy had very limited english and I had significant difficulty communicating. It was a cold, snowy evening. I was pretty beat from work and a poor night's sleep and frankly didn't even want to think about cooking. I had yet to try any restaurants here in Pueblo, where my current job has me most weekdays, so figured could satisfy my laziness, curiosity and cravings all in one. Turned to Yelp, searched for Thai food and this place popped up. I'm always a little leery of the one-stop-shop Asian cuisine venus, but it had good reviews and was close to my location, so figured would give it a shot. I called around 4:30 to place an order for pickup. The lady who answered was very friendly, promptly took my order and kindly ensured I had the correct location prior to hanging up the phone. I drove on over after finishing another errand. There was a drive-thru window, but since I had never been inside I wanted to check it out. It looks and feels like an Asian fast food joint. A family was at the counter and was rather indecisive, therefore my wait was probably longer than it normally would have been. After they finished and took their seats, the guy in front of me stepped up to place his order. I recognized the voice of the woman who answered the phone as the woman who was also manning the register and acting as a server to the dine-in folks. She was certainly busy, but did a very good job managing her various roles. Finally it was my turn, and no sooner did I say "I'm here for a pickup.." did she answer with my name and "it's ready" and swiftly went to gather my box, chopsticks and fortune cookie (can't forget that). I was out the door shortly thereafter. 4 stars for service. Maybe it was the weather and the drive home and my general feeling of blah, but once I got to my apartment and sat down to dig in, the aroma of the food was not what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, it didn't smell bad, but it wasn't the savory fish and sweeter peanut sauce combo I've come to expect from American Pad Thai. It was actually more spicy and curry-like, as if they mixed up the sauces while finishing the stir fry. That said, the menu description does say "spicy homemade sauce," so perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised. The taste mirrored the scent, and I found myself slightly disappointed. Again, it wasn't bad by any means, just took me by surprise. Pad Thai is such a basic meal that I find it a good way to judge a new restaurant, and based upon this one experience, I'm not sure I would rush back. Though I'm certainly not opposed to trying the Pho or another dish in the future. Or those donuts. Good lord they were hard to resist. read more

Garlic Shrimp is my fave! Always fresh and the veggies are done just right. Last weekend ordered three items and I guess the chick on the phone didn't hear one of them because only two got delivered. I was pretty bummed about it, but no big woop, right? The delivery guy went back to the store and delivered me the third item for no charge because he saw I was upset and told me I was "a good customer and order all the time." WHO DOES THIS? VERY good Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, definitely one of the best places in town. The Singapore noodles are my favorite but everything I've had here is really good. The service is always fast and friendly too. CSU Pueblo students get 10% off which keeps us coming back often. read more

As someone who looks for meatless options, Kuan's offers great variety with tofu and veggie options. Inside was clean and it is in close proximity to my wife's work. The food was fantastic and the workers were incredibly helpful. I'm not into donuts, but word has it they make some good ones!
