The meal was flavorful and the portions generous. We are vegan and our server assured us they would not add egg to our dishes! Props to them. The only reason they aren't getting a higher rating is because I ordered my dish at a medium spice level. My dish came out at a hot spice level. When questioned, the server had some bizarre reason why my dish was spicier than I'd requested. We've eaten here before and not had issues with the food. I suspect the server submitted the ticket to cook wrong. Finally, this is a nice comfortable little restaurant, conducive to relaxing with friends while enjoying a good meal. read more

Something to note is their spice level 3 = hot which it is. It will make your nose run but it's not so hot that you miss out on the taste of the food. We were on the road traveling back to OKC and I had a craving for Asian food so we decided to try this little gem out. It's easy to get to and right off US 50. It's a cute little restaurant with Thai decorations, not huge but enough seating for about 30 people. We were seated immediately and service was quick. Our drinks and appetizer came out w/i 7 min and our main order followed approx 10 min later. We ordered the Bronco wraps which was good ( similar to PF Changs lettuce wraps). We also shared the Coconut milk soup (tom kha) and the Red curry pineapple pork which was served with Jasmine rice. The food is solid for being in the city of Pueblo. Prices were reasonable, but I loved how quick we were able to get in and out and back on the road. It satisfied my Asian craving coming down from skiing. read more

First, let me preface this review with the fact that I'm from the Seattle area and have eaten a lot of Thai food. Since this was my first visit, I ordered standard fare: Tofu Pad Thai. Decent portion size but skimped on egg, had to ask for peanuts, small tofu portion, and only two slivers of green onion. There was literally only 1/4 teaspoon of egg crumble. That being said, the sauce was tasty and I did clean my plate. My husband ordered yellow curry. The sauce was oddly sweet and very thin. It came with stewed potatoes and tomatoes. My husband ran out of rice (one small cup dome) and was charged $2.75 for extra. The ambience is nice, decorated with Thai flourish but nothing fancy. The cloth napkins were a nice touch. The service was friendly and prompt. Nutshell: Overpriced and the nickel and diming for rice $2.75 and beef &1.00 in the curry seemed miserly. read more

I really wanted to give this place a great rating but I couldn't! I'll start off by saying that the staff are incredible. They are so kind and accommodating. The atmosphere is great and it does have that fun Thai restaurant vibe. However the drunken noodles had pad thai noodles which I thought was the weirdest thing. We had several orders of different dishes and a lot of them had the same noodle. Drunken noodle and pad see ew should have the wife thick chew noodles. These dishes did not. I will say that the flavor was pretty good though, it had that Smokey undertone and was quite nice, but it was hard to enjoy it with the wrong noodle and they didn't really even feel cooked all the way. So I took a star off for that. In addition the Thai iced tea was WAYYYYY too sweet! It was the sweetest I have ever had. I could barely taste the tea almost straight sugar. Generally when you get Thai tea you are the person that mixes it. The cream at the bottom and the tea on top, but this came premixed. I had a feeling it was going to be too sweet because the orange was a darker color than usual. So another star. I would try the place again though, I know sometimes you just have an off day or the staff is different or whatever. I love giving people a second chance. The street noodles were better than the mushy noodle but not by much. The Panang curry was watery and did not have enough rice. The portions were small for the price of the food. I recently spent the weekend in Pueblo for a girls trip to the Chile & Frijoles festival. One of the ladies who came with us is Vegan, and as you can imagine, there are not a lot of Vegan options around. Not only was Puukaow a great option for her, but it was some of the best Thai food I've tried! I split the special - blue crab fried rice - with another lady in our group and we were super impression. The portion was huge, the crab was super fresh, and the spice level was perfect. I love Puukauo Thai. Plan to stay awhile- this is not a fast food joint. They serve ambience with their delicious food. I've tried many dishes and have never been disappointed. My favorite is the lemongrass soup with shrimp. I get the biggest serving available to ensure I have some to take home. I order it for take out on a chilly day, but especially if I'm sick. My family and I were in town visiting my brother for the weekend. We wanted to try something different than we normally get back home, we are from ohio, so upon pulling up the map I found this place. We were promptly greeted when we walked in, seated and drinks ordered. We got fried calamari and fresh spring rolls. Both were great! My wife ordered pad Thai, level two spicy, I ordered the stir fry Thai basil beef level 3. Meals came out as soon as appetizers were gone, for was absolutely amazing. Only regret I had was that I didn't get a level 4 spicy at least. Probably the best Thai food I've had in a long time. Service was exceptional. Pricing was average and worth every penny. I was in the mood for some curry and this place satisfied that craving. However it was kind of expensive. I settled for green curry with combination meat and mild spiciness. The flavor was really good! With a hint of coconut, it brought sweetness with a kick of the actual spice. However, the only downside was the amount. I felt like there just wasn't enough. The size and price just didn't match. I also got fried spring rolls which tasted good as well...kept it traditional with no new surprise flavors or anything. Puukaow is the the best Thai food you're going to find in Pueblo. My family has eaten here a lot over the last year. They are vegetarian and vegan friendly, which is a rare find in Pueblo. True, there are a few other places that offer vegetarian options around here. But most of the restaurants are mediocre quality in our opinion. I gave Puukaow 4 stars but it's probably more like 3 1/2 stars. Delicious, but the not best Thai we have ever had. Either way, we are very grateful that this restaurant is here. It has been a blessing in an almost literal vegetarian food desert. They are kind of expensive though. If you just get one entrée, it's not too bad. But once you start adding appetizers and any sides, it adds up quick. It's disappointing they don't offer a spice tray. Ask for a side of chilie flakes... pay a $1. Ask for peanuts on your Pad Thai, pay $1. Kind of lame, but I still do it because it's just not the same without it. My biggest gripe is that over the last year. I have found a strand of hair in my food on two separate occasions! Both times they didn't offer any compensation, but they did remake the food. The fact that it happened more than once kind of grosses me out. Obviously, they need to be wearing a hairnet in the kitchen. For that reason alone, I should only give them 3 stars. But the food is good and everyone that works there is very nice. As someone with a background in food service, I know it's not an easy business to be in. read more

It exceeded our expectations + was truly a delight! My sisters + I decided to share the bronco wraps (literally still drooling over them. So freaking good!) as well as our entrees -- yellow curry bowl w/ chicken, pad thai, + pad see-ew. Each one was FANTASTIC! We literally ate everything on our plates. Amazing Thai food in Pueblo! 10/10 recommend going here if you're in the mood for curries or pad Thai! So yummy! Because of covid they're only currently doing takeout and sadly are closed on sundays but the food is amazing! I usually get one of the curries w chicken but have also gotten the pad Thai. Both are super tasty and very fresh! The spring rolls are also super flavorful. Depending on the day and time it can be as quick as 15 min for the food to be ready or up to an hr if it's a Friday or Saturday night. Just plan accordingly so you're not waiting around for the food.
