Went to Lansdale for a First Fridays (highly recommend if you're in the area) and decided to find a place to eat in the area. There was mot a lot to choose from but found this treasure. The wait staff were so nice and welcoming. The restaurant itself is quite lovely. The seating along the side wall is pretty cozy so the diner next to you isn't too far away. There were people who didn't know each other talking to each other about the food and so many other things. It was quite endearing. Now, on to the food. We started with the Tom Yum Soup and Peking Duck Roti Wraps. I never had Tom Yum Soup but I will for sure get it again (hopefully it's this good elsewhere). The tang and spice of the soup is so good and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I absolutely loved it! The Duck Roti wraps also very tasty. What a creative blending of cuisine. For our entrees we had the Basil Fried Rice and the Panang Curry. The rice was nice and moist, rice cooked perfectly and so flavorful. The Panang Curry was spectacular! The creaminess, sweetness and depth of flavors is just so good. I wish this place wasn't so far because I definitely would be back a lot. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

First time getting Thai in PA, coming from great NY Thai and loved this place! The Khao soi was amazing, if you sub the protein it can be veg or pescatarian, the drunken noodles were another excellent choice! The spring/summer rolls do not have vermicelli noodles (menu states this) but FYI if u don't read the menu. Calling in to clarify what can be made vegetarian and the staff was super friendly and helpful. 10/10 will order again! read more

Didn't expect such a good restaurant to be in Lansdale! Made reservations for a Friday night with a friend and the place was bustling. We ordered the chicken satay, pineapple fried rice, and khao soi. The chicken satay was tender and we both loved the peanut sauce. I think this was a bit pricey since it's 4 small pieces. The presentation for both entrees were great, and they tasted even better. The food came out pretty fast and service was attentive. I will be back! read more

I came to Kub Kai for a lunch with some coworkers on a weekday. The restaurant wasn't large, so our group of 12 felt pretty large. The ambiance was pretty relaxing and the interior design was nice. The food seemed pretty delicious based on my coworkers reactions. I had the Massaman curry and it was done very well. The prices were pretty reasonable. Loved Kub Kao! Street parking only (but is free between 12p-1p lunch hour and after 8pm I believe on weekdays). Was very surprised to find this gem in Lansdale! The interior is very aesthetic!! With light wooden tables, twinkling string lights and cute greenery. And the khao soi is top notch! Beautiful plating and with great flavor, nice chewy noodles. You can choose your choice of protein (I got chicken which was great). I also got the tom kha (coconut lemongrass soup) here which was also very delicious! Perfect without being too salty. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Prices were very reasonable, especially compared to other Thai restaurants in the area. Would highly recommend this spot if looking for Thai in the Philly suburbs! Ordered the Kha Soi on their special menu. It's basically noodles in a curry soup. Not too spicy but enough spice. They provided more spicy oil on the side of you want to add more spice to the dish. Noodles were al dente. Lots of crunchy bits. You can add your choice of protein for a certain price. I had chicken. A squeeze of lime goes well on it. Overall loved the dish. My partner had the Massaman Curry which he also enjoyed. Sweet roti for dessert. I believe they took roti and placed it in a waffle maker. Crispy layers of roti in one bite with condensed milk and chocolate. Very yummy. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was lovely with plants, a mural painted with plants on it, elephant statues, and bunny figurines. Not too loud. A great place to eat and have a conversation with your partner. I used to come here all the time. Their drunken noodles are spicy and delicious. At some point, they reduced the size of the entree significantly, which made it less viable for a hearty dinner. Other items are pretty good, as well. Nice ambiance, small restaurant; service is friendly. I just wish you got a decent amount of food for the price. read more

While their space on Main Street, Lansdale, is nicely decorated Asian casual, and my interaction with the manager while waiting for my takeout was pleasant, I can't say that their kitchen is anything more than average for suburban Thai cuisine. I ordered Spring Rolls, Tom Kha Soup and Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) w Chicken, "Thai Spicy." Here's what I got - Two small Spring Rolls w tiny container of sweet dipping sauce; consumed in three bites; pretty good coconut milk based soup with plenty of chunky veggies; and large flat noodles with reasonable standard vegetables and ground chicken(!), lacking the requested heat quotient. The Pad Kee Mao completely missed the mark. The noodles were over soft, and lacking chewiness. They just gave up the ghost without a fight. I had never seen ground chicken in this dish, and it was obviously not the way to go. It lacked taste and texture so apparent when slices of chicken are used to hold flavor and add to the textural profile. I couldn't tell if it was bird or tofu, it was so nondescript. No Thai heat either. Where were the lemongrass and red chillies? Lost somewhere in translation between me, the manager and the kitchen. A total fail. Clearly many love Kub Kao, Unfortunately, it didn't do it for us. My wife (Asian) wouldn't eat the noodles after first bite, and sniffed at the spring rolls. She gave the Tom Kha a pass. Our only suggestion is for them to reevaluate the ground chicken thing and try fresh sliced poultry. Too, when people ask for heat, give it to them. Don't get caught in the "Americans don't like spicy food," game. Some of us do, and we should get what we want. Second guessing seldom is appreciated. read more

The only thing I might suggest different is the vegetable fried rice was mostly onions and as vegetables and only a few others I would suggest more different and larger quantity of vegetables other than onions otherwise it was a wonderful meal. read more

Super cute place inside, clean and friendly. The Tom Yum soup was on point. Pad Thai was good but make sure you specify that you want flat noodles. It also didn't have any spice, so ask for that if you like it spicy! There wasn't much beef in the Pad Thai, definitely could have given more for $15. The food here is AMAZING! Lansdale is blessed with 2 excellent Thai places!!! We ordered for takeout.... Drunken Noodle - this is now my favorite drunken noodle of all the Thai restaurants. It's a little smoky, noodles were slightly Al dente, and the overall flavor was excellent. A lot of other renditions of drunken noodles have a little too much fish sauce, maybe to cover up a lack of flavor, but this is not the case here!! Can't even smell any fishiness! Crispy chicken - their spin on general tso chicken. ordered this for the kids, but we ended up eating most of it lol. They used breast meat, which is a plus, and was lightly battered! Even though we did take out, it managed to stay a little crispy and had really deep flavor. The sauce is pretty sweet though! Green curry - excellent flavor, perfect spiciness. Not overwhelmingly coconut-y. No pictures because we devoured the food so fast. read more

Wonderful Service. Delicious everything. We had a small family get tougher here - but it was a very rainy day. The staff was very helpful in getting my kids situated and offered to help in every way we need. They were able to tailor to every generation level of spiciness. The kids truly enjoyed the dumplings and kept ordering more and more. My older parents had a great mild / not too spicy Pad Krapow. The poke bowl was very tasty and the salmon tasted very fresh. I had Pad Sa-ew and was planning to save some for the next day but ended up eating the whole thing. Crispy tofu was also a hit ! We'd highly recommend KubKao to anyone in the area.
