I have been there dozens of times over the past 10 years and the sushi has always been excellent.

Located in a small strip mall and has a very hectic feel. The service was disappointing. The woman at the counter did not greet me, but she greeted other customers and wasn't helpful when I asked about popular rolls. So I had to look over the menu. She made ordering awkward. I ordered the Crazy Roll and a yellowtail scallion hand roll. The food was just okay. The hand roll was unraveling and the wrap was tough. I've had better sushi from here before that my son brought home, so the quality seems inconsistent. They offer specials, party trays, Thai options, and have a small dine in area that appears clean. Overall, between the uneven service and average food, I wasn't impressed and I'm not sure I'd return. read more

We just tried Vic Sushi for the first time. It is larger than I expected. Just a few tables near the sushi bar and then a larger room to the side. It was clean and neat and the table was set with a small plate and chopsticks. The menu included a broad variety of sushi and Thai dishes. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. It's BYOB so feel free to bring something with you. We ordered appetizers of the tuna sundae and the spicy seafood salad. What I noticed in both dishes was they the fish was not able to be the hero of the dish. This theme continues throughout the meal. Both dishes were tasty but the sundae was covered in so many cashews that you couldn't even see any tuna. The spicy seafood salad did not have as much sushi as expected and was on the smaller side. Our main dishes were the Marla roll and the Lisa roll The Marla roll was pretty good but again didn't have as much sushi as expected. The Lisa roll was probably 60% avocado which was a disappointment for an $18 signature roll. The fish was fresh and the flavors were good but I left not feeling any desire to return. It was a disappointment because I was excited to find another sushi location. I will probably give it another try but I may try something else. read more

Vic Sushi is a consistently good, and fresh sushi restaurant with many return customers turned into brand advocates. The staff is cordial, and professional, as well as the sushi chefs. There's multiple locations around the Philadelphia suburban area. Most are highly accessible, located on or just off of main roadways in small strip malls with sufficient, and convenient parking. The dining room is casual, with a mixture of tables, and booths. They provide options for those with dietary needs, such as those who are gluten-free, offering tamari sauce vs soy sauce (which contains gluten). The restaurant is clean, and the prices are reasonable. In addition to dining service from lunch through dinner hours, take-out is also available. Their Ambler location's menu can be found online at amblervicsushi.com. We ordered the edamame to start, which was cooked perfectly. For our entrees, we each chose the 3 roll combination, affording the option to choose among over a dozen types of roles at a reasonable price point. One combination consisted of a shrimp tempura roll, Philadelphia roll, and sweet potato roll. The other- yellowtail scallion, spicy tuna, and salmon avocado. All the rolls were delicious. If they added more rice to the rolls they'd look much bigger, and hit that sweet spot of rice proportionate to sushi. Prompt service, and reliability make Vic Sushi a winner. read more

Solid choice for sushi, but I recently found out it's a pretty solid choice for Thai food as well. I've lost count of how many times I've gotten Massaman Curry for takeout. For about $16 I get a huge bowl that is two meals for me. It is LOADED with vegetables (green beans, potato, carrot, onion, broccoli, red pepper, and green pepper, which I normally ask to be left out) and chicken, which is my protein of choice. I also like to add some spice and some pineapple. It comes with white rice on the side, but you can get brown if you prefer. I recently ate in house with a friend. It's very casual and simple. The booth was clean and comfortable and the room was quiet with the exception of people talking at the other tables (there may have been some music). The service was very friendly (as they always are when I get take out) and helpful with all the questions my friend had. They were accommodating to her allergies, having no issues with additions and substitutions. She got Thai rice with Shrimp and I can confirm it was very good. Lots of flavor in the rice and the shrimp was grilled to perfection. Before we left she got green curry to go for her girlfriend and the report back was that it was delicious. read more

Been here a few times for a group lunches with coworkers. We usually come here for the lunch specials of sushi or sashimi, which comes with miso soup. This is a pretty good deal since it usually comes down to $15 per person. The sashimi is fresh, but it can feel like a small portion since it only comes with 6 pieces of sashimi. The service is fast and attentive for the most part. They also serve Thai food alternatively if you don't feel like Japanese food. We either eat in or take out all the time from Vic. The food is always very good and the price point is great. Jessica, the tireless server, is endlessly cheerful. It's always comfortable at Vic. The first Vic sushi I've been to was in willow grove and it was something special. Then they opened in bryn mawr by work, so that became my sushi spot. Recently I've found this location while frequenting another establishment in this shopping center. In an effort to try and support the good places to eat that make up our community through all of this, we decided to go to Vic sushi. We decided that two weeks ago? The menu is so amazing, my wife needed so much more time to ensure we were doing it "right". When yelp announced big night in 2.0, I said let's do sushi. For one, we don't have to worry about the food getting cold, so this was we can get it and eat it when we want to, while still enjoying all of the events that were virtually taking place. We went with a feast. The three roll combo, which is a great deal. Shrimp tempura roll, Boston roll, and futomaki (Crab stick, egg avocado, cucumber and masago). Then the ambler roll (Spicy lump crabmeat, tempura flakes, avocado, topped with assorted fish) , holiday roll (Scallop, mango, avocado, cucumber and masago, wrapped in soy paper with spicy mayo), orange dragon (Eel, avocado and cucumber topped with Salmon), and shrimp tempura coconut mango roll (Shrimp Tempura and coconut jam roll, topped with mango). The entire meal was so good. Everything looks beautifully and tastes just as good and was delicious for lunch the next day too! Even with covid-19 restrictions, was easy to get the order and be on my way, even though I couldn't pay online... still, didn't really interact that much and they had sanitizer on a table where the pens were to sign. I occasionally eat in at this Vic Sushi location. It is frequently very sparsely filled with eat-in customers these days, but they appear to do more of a takeout business. The dining area is extremely clean and the service is efficient and friendly. I have never tried the Thai dishes offered, as I only have ordered sushi or sushi related items. In this last visit I ordered the avocado salad which was mostly cut romaine lettuce, some shredded carrots, one cherry tomato and slices of avocado with ginger based dressing on the side. The salad was very fresh as the romaine was very crisp and no telltale signs of aging and the avocado was spotless with no blemishes. As for sushi, I had an order of salmon sushi, and a roll made with a combination of spicy tuna, spicy salmon, yellowtail and avocado topped with some tobiko. I also had a pot of green tea. There is a wide variety of specialty rolls if you are so inclined to try. They are also one of the few sushi places that I have see that have a three roll special offered outside of the lunch menu, offering it at dinner as well. Nice place overall. read more

Haven't had a bad meal here yet. Service is always top notch...friendly and attentive. They seat you right away and the food comes out pretty fast. The place is on the small side so there's not a ton of seating (outside seating in the warmer months). My only complaint is when it's cold outside, it's hard to enjoy your food as every time the door opens it feels like you're eating in an ice box. Their lunch specials are priced really well and I like a few of their special rolls. I want to try one of their Thai meals, I've seen other people get them and they look yummy. Worst dining experience ever. Dine in at your own risk. And make sure you have at least 2 hours to spare and don't come hungry! Waited 45 minutes just for an appetizer to come out and that was after we asked several times when we could expect our food. No clear answer given the three separate times we asked, and kept stating they're working on it. There were exactly 5 tables occupied at the time our our dining experience. Another couple left after waiting 45 minutes. At exactly the 1 hour and 30 minute mark our sushi came out. However, they never brought us one of our appetizers or our entree of fried rice. And then it was on our bill. They do not prioritize those who are dining in and are ridiculously busy with to go orders. We debated leaving several times but couldn't get ourselves to do it. Their processes need to be ironed out. Need to tell their customers what time frame. "Sorry" doesn't work as an excuse. But hey, looking at this takeout orders, they have no reason to fix this problem nor do they seem to care. Unfortunately they've lost a customer although the quality of their sushi is good. Best local sushi place around. Been eating at the Ambler and Rosemont location for years - usually always takeout. The rolls are fresh. The also have good specialty combinations I haven't seen at other sushi places. Can't beat their 2 and 3 roll combo special for the value and quality. Let me preface this by stating that I am not a one time customer. Me and my family have made dozens of orders here. I enjoy supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, due to the chain of events, I would hesitate being a customer again. I would come to this place pretty often. While the wait times weren't accurate, with many times the order being ready far after the estimate, this was not a concern for me as I understand COVID keeps businesses busy. What was unacceptable was that this place messed up my order and refused to make it right. I specifically asked for spicy mayo on my order. The restaurant didn't put it on. And of course, they wrap the bags so tight that you can't even check the order. I confronted them for messing up my custom rolls. Without the Mayo, the roll was a waste for me. Their first method of resolution was for me to drive 20 minutes round trip to get spicy Mayo. Ridiculous! Why would I waste my gas, money, and time? Their second option was a free roll next time I order. Great, that works. Except when I got to the place, they insisted it was a misunderstanding and had me pay for their mistake. So now, I've wasted my time and money twice. I should've just refused the order, but I am not that type of person. read more

I frequent Vic's sushi to go in Rosemont and was expecting a similar atmosphere when I came to Vic Sushi. They are definitely different and this restaurant has a more sit down feel to it, so keep that in mind. The service I experienced was excellent. I was seated promptly and our food arrived in a timely manner. As far as the food goes, I was a little disappointed as compared to what I have experienced at its sister restaurant. The gyoza were far from what I would expect from gyoza and we're doughy and heavy, more akin to dumplings one would receive from Chinese takeout. They were alright, but definitely not what I expected or as good as the gyoza at the other location. The sushi I got was still excellent and I was happy about that, but there were a few inconsistencies between this restaurant and the other one which I couldn't overcome. Finally, the door being right next to the seating area makes for a very chilly meal this time of the year. They did try and remedy this with some plastic flaps, but it might be good to look into adding one of those constructible doorway/antechamber things you see in cities to give a little more protection from chilly gusts. There are a lot of sushi options, but the best deal at the restaurant is actually the three (3) rolls for $11.50. While this does seem like a good deal, this deal only applies to their standard roles and not any of their special roles. Even still, 24 pieces of sushi for $11.50 is not a bad deal. When my friend and I went, we ordered six different rolls and ended up sharing them all, so we got a full experience. The service at Vic Sushi was pretty fast. The wait staff was attentive, and our sushi rolls came out much quicker than I expected. At a minimum do not order sushi from here on a Sunday since it must be leftover from Friday delivery. Three of us got upset stomachs with one of us having meal go straight thru digestive track in 20 minutes. We all ate same sushi but I had salad and mayo, so entire order was contaminated to some degree. Understanding they are working under difficult situation during pandemic - but completely inexcusable to not return email/phone call to discuss concern. I would still choose Umai or Bluefin over Vic anytime. I really like the diverse menu and vast selection of special rolls. I think this sushi place is perfect for sushi lovers that don't want to spend a ton of money. I say this because there generic rolls are cheap. The reason they are cheap is because the generic rolls are minuscule. It would take 2 or maybe 3 pieces of a Vic spicy tuna roll to get 1 of Umai's spicy tuna monsters. We placed our take out order at around 7:20 pm. The website said 50 minutes till pickup. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:20 to pick it up and it still was not ready and there were a dozen other people waiting in similar situations. Our order took 2 hours to make. We thought about leaving multiple times but they assured us our order would be right up. After we finally got our food when we got home the spring rolls we ordered were cold. The sushi we ordered was good but the wait time ruined the overall experience. We have both worked in the restaurant business so we completely understand a Friday rush. However, the website should have never let us place the order if the restaurant was that behind in orders. A two hour wait for any take out order is unacceptable, especially when the website indicated it would only be 50 minutes. This wait time ruins a good portion of your night while you are hungry and waiting with 10 other people who are in the exact same situation. read more

All shuffling in and out of restaurant while trying to maintain social distancing, in and out of cars coming back and forth for an time update. Customers were mostly all trying their best, but staff didn't seem to care about the situation. Shout out to the cooks doing the best they can to keep up!
