My daughter who is 6 six years in ballet training has now moved to pointe technique level this year and was amaze with the Swan Lake production. Theater location is in the heart of downtown Stockton. Plenty of street paid parking but I chose to have a little more security/surveillance parking 1 block away from the venue that cost $20. The parking lot is very small, and the attendants were very friendly but limited parking spaces. I suggest getting there early as the good parking fills up. The people working at the theater were very professional and welcoming. The ushers helped walk you to your seats. They sell drinks but I'm not sure if they sell a variety of food. I see people only with popcorn and candy treats. They also have an adult beverage bar. Con: While the show is going on, please do not allow people to come and be seated. Allow for production breaks in between, I know they have them. Everyone is standing up every 5 minutes allowing people to be seated through-out the show. Patrons please be on time it's not the movies or ball game! Lol Awesome venue will be back!

This dog ran across the store after my kids and cornered my screaming, crying, horrified 3 year old in the corner. That was the first and last time I'll be returning back to this place not only for my daughter's love for art but also for any future girls paint night plans I had. This is not how you run a business by keeping your pets inside- specially if they are not behaved. The woman herself couldn't even catch up to the dog because of her own health, so there's no way she was going to stop this crazy dog. The least she could have done was apologize but that never came either. I picked up both my kids and immediately left. Either run a business properly and keep your crazy animals home or give the space to another business - because that's what manteca needs! *Personally I expected a cat given the business name, which I am also allergic too- so I wouldn't come back if that was the case either. *

They had one small vendor hall and a panel hall along with an outdoor stage area. The food options were pretty limited. I'm fact, I hardly saw any. The biggest deal of this event was the Sacramento casting panel for an upcoming marvel movie, which featured prizes and a chance to be in the film. We spent maybe an hour and a half there before leaving. Imo, not really worth the $7 a ticket and the 35 mile drive. The con/festival was only open 10am-4pm....which was kind of a bummer. I think it's worth checking out if you're local with nothing better to do. But not worth the travel.

To make matters worse, they made noticeable mistakes while playing, which was incredibly disheartening during such a special moment. All in all, the experience left us worse than disappointed. They ruined mine - a moment that meant so much to me, one I had envisioned since I was a little girl and one I will never get a do over for. Things will not go exactly as planned at your wedding, but this is a moment that you want right and should be relatively easy to ensure goes as planned. I will never forget standing outside my ceremony venue with my father waiting for our entrance when I heard them play my song (a song that was so deliberately chosen for my entrance with my father). Despite having filled out all their paperwork and clearly outlining who in the wedding party would be entering and in what order, they played my entrance song when my dog came down the aisle. You read that right. They played the song clearly outlined as the entrance for the bride for my dog. After a bit, they realized their mistake, stopped abruptly and went back to the plan that was so clearly outlined and discussed weeks before the event. I could not believe it. Neither could guests. After the wedding, a few of my friends shared that on top of this epic mistake, they had many starts and stops during the seating of the guests. One of my friends felt awful confessing "the strings seemed very confused." After the wedding I reached out to them about this. To make matters worse, I received an unbelievably rude response, refusing to take accountability for their mistake. Their response was that they thought the person walking my dog down the aisle was me because she was wearing a white dress. To be clear, she was wearing a blush dress and had a dog on a leash. I was wearing a giant white ballgown and had my father on my arm. An Elegant Touch of Strings ruined one of the most anticipated and important moments of my wedding - a moment that I can never redo - and refused to take accountability for it. They were an epic mistake I hope no future brides makes.

Stockton-Con Here's…read moremy story: My kids have been coming here for the past few years. So, I finally was able to see what's what. The Con is held at the Stockton Arena. It's a nice size arena, in my opinion. The price was $18 for a two day pass with kids free. (12 and younger) . When you arrive there's ticket checkers. Show them the bizz and be on your way. The set up, was done pretty cool. Inside the arena there were tons of booths. Selling all kinds of items from Pokémon gear to Magic the gathering cards. A little bit of everything for those who are into these types of events. There were special guest but I didn't pay really too much attention. There is an upstairs area and booths were all along that area as well. I really liked this retro booth. Had Classic systems hooked up for you to play . There's also food places to eat upstairs and downstairs. The standard ones that are typically in arenas. There's also restrooms up and downstairs for you too. If you're a little tired from walking around. Part of the arena seating is available. I took the liberty to rest a few times. Walking around for several hours wears a person out, lol. I had lots of fun, walking around taking pictures. Checking out all the cool cosplayers. My youngest and her friend had a blast too. I'll definitely be coming back next year. So I attended StocktonCon Summer both days this year (2022) and it has always been a favorite of…read moremine. This year it was as good as expected with one major exception, the security was horrible. They attempted to make it look like airport security, but they didn't really check anyone thoroughly. But that wasn't the main issue I had. On Saturday (as with every other day I ever attended the con) you could get your hand stamped so you could leave and come back inside (for instance: if you wanted to drop off purchased items off in your car and return). On Sunday, you were told (via flyers on the door, and by the rude security) that once you leave, you aren't allowed back in. I was also told "This has always been the policy of the arena." WHAT? So I am to believe that security just wasn't properly doing their jobs for the last 10 years, but Sunday... look out! I asked why the sudden change, and nobody would give me an answer. I even called the venue, and a robotic manager told me I was the only one who complained, and that it has always been their policy. It was rumored that some homeless people got in and something happened, but I couldn't get the truth out of anyone. If security can't do their jobs correctly, the guests should not have to suffer for it. They could have simply had those who left, re-enter through the security checkpoint. Instead, they decided to treat everyone with disrespect and inconvenience. I have probably been to a hundred conventions, and I have never been told you cannot re-enter. The con itself was wonderful, but not allowing people to re-enter not ANY reason is ridiculous, and completely uncalled for. I hope they do something about the security, or find a new venue. I really like StocktonCon, but this issue really puts a damper on the experience as a whole.

What a culturally rich experiences this was! I had never been to the city of Locke and came here…read morewith my dance group to perform at the Harvest Moon Festival. This town is simply charming and the people are extremely friendly as well. The City of Locke is the only surviving rural Chinatown in the nation, and it was built by the Chinese for the Chinese. This festival was held at the Jean Harvie Community Center, which is right next to the levee. I was amazed at the cultural diversity evident at this festival. The dance, music, and Taiko drum performances were wonderful to watch. The costumes was amazing as they were made with beautifully textured and colorful fabrics. Additionally, when I asked one of the dancers aout her costume she told me they were hand made and often times would take weeks to stitch and embroider. Several of the performers involved in this festival traveled from the bay area as well as Stockton to attend this event. The performances displayed flawless movement and synchronization to beautifully orchestrated cultural music. The Chinese food at this festival was scrumptious. I enjoyed a plate of dim sum, vegetable chow mien, and a delicious cup of freshly brewed oolong tea. Overall I really enjoyed this festival and would love to go back to this delightful town again in the future. After all, its only 23 miles south of sacramento.
