The grounds are kept clean and there is plenty to see and do. Food options are slim during the week compared to the weekend, however, this is expected since more people are likely to visit on a Saturday or Sunday. They have promo codes if you purchases tkts online vs when you get there. Pricing is fair compared to other farms with the same concept. Depending on the season - Kuipers also has apple picking, pumpkin picking and a sunflower fest. This is a great family friendly place with activities for everyone to enjoy. read more

There are two locations to do activities at Kuipers. We paid $25 to go apple picking on one area of the farm. The apple picking parking lot was the 2nd one on the right. Before you start picking, they let you know what apples are in season. You can also buy apples already bagged, apple sweets like donuts, ciders and even flights. They had some live music going on too. If you cross the street, you can visit the other side of the farm. It was also $25 to get in. You can feed farm animals for 25 cents, watch goats, pigs, and ducks race, enjoy field games, live music, food trucks, and walk around with drinks. You can also get a stamp to return if you need to leave that area. read more

My boyfriend and I have been going to Kuipers as a tradition for many years, and it's always worth the hour-long drive! We usually come for apple picking (their website is great about telling you which varieties are ready each week), but there's so much more to do. From live music, pumpkin patches, and flower picking to a big gift shop, wine and beer tasting, and tons of kids' activities -- the farm really has something for everyone. The place is huge, beautifully maintained, and never feels boring no matter how many times we go. The staff are always so friendly and knowledgeable, which makes the experience even better. Amazing! Thanks to insta, I was served ads about a Dino Farm in Maple Park, IL. Where? Exactly. So my 3 year old went up on a Monday in early June to be amazed!! This was everything and more when it came to the Dinosaurs all over the farm! They also had various play areas to keep the kids busy and active. You can easily spend the day here. The drive for us was more than an hour so if I'm committing to that drive, we are staying a few hours. They also had dinosaur shows for the kids as well. I will say the food wasn't that great (we did Pizza and Nachos) so maybe eat ahead of time or have lunch in their lot. We'd love to check out the scene come fall time! read more

I went on a weekday with a friend for both the pumpkin fun farm and the apple orchard. We had a lot of fun! The price isn't too bad, however since it was a weekday, there were less things available for us to do which was a bummer. They try to alleviate that by having lower prices on weekdays, so that's a little bit of a positive. The games were fun and pretty classic, like rubber duck racing, throwing balls into holes, some kids playgrounds, and more. They also had a big slide which was fun for people of all ages, I went on it twice! There were also animals in pens, which I felt the conditions weren't the best and it made me feel sad for them. The rabbits barely had any hay which is integral to their survival. The chickens/goose/peacock/other birds had very little space and they kind of just stood inside looking out at you. I wish they'd improve the conditions. The apple orchard was fun, we got a 1/4 peck bag from the entrance and filled it up. Since we came late in the season, many varieties were unavailable and those that were available had a lot of... Inhabitants within the apples. Nevertheless, we kept looking and found enough perfect apples to take home. The shops were fun too as they have a lot of local products. I made sure to get the Kuiper's hard ciders, apple cider donuts, and wines. read more

Had a great first visit to Kuipers! I would recommend buying your tickets online, I think you save a dollar or two, which can help when you're planning to buy drinks/food here. The grounds are pretty large. One side has apple picking, one side has pumpkins (and I believe tulips when it's that season). We came in specifically for the pumpkin area. There are lots of activities for honestly all ages. There are some mostly child centric areas, but things like the slide and the corn maze can definitely be fun for adults. The parking was SO easy. It might have helped that we went before a super busy time, but overall it was easy to navigate. I also like that you can go in/out - so if you want to pack a lunch in a cooler instead of buy food there, that's definitely an option. On your way out, you go through the store which honestly...was a little bit lacking compared to other pumpkin patches/fall gardens we've gone to. Apples were very expensive, but they did look great. I would have liked to see a bit more homemade or local ready to buy foods. The pumpkins were great. So many different colors, shapes, sizes. I didn't buy one because we went way too early and the savage animals around my house would have already eaten them. But if you go, definitely pick some up. read more

This was part tulip fest and part amusement park, and frankly it was mostly amusement park. This means there was a lot of fun playground type stuff, even more than I expected beyond the jumping pillow and the giant slide. But it also means that they have leaned in to the amusement-park pricing scheme -- meaning that they charge a decent chunk of change, then charge additional fees for the rides on top of that, and then charge even larger amounts of money for mediocre food dispensed only at the end of long lines. The result is to turn the outing into quite an expensive one and also to prevent you from forgetting for a few hours how much you are spending, as you are constantly being nickel-and-dimed. As I mentioned, we were hearing during the tulip fest. I gather that it would be apple picking or pumpkin picking at some other point. The tulips themselves were lovely, in many brilliant colors and combos. But we were disappointed when we asked them for some way to help preserve the tulips we had just picked -- a bag with water or something. They didn't seem to care about that and told us that our tulips would last for three hours so it would be fine. But it took us more than three hours to stand in the long lines, eat some food, and then drive home. Overall, it seems like a place more optimized to get your money than to make you a happy customer. Which is a shame because they do have nice flowers and nice stuff to play on! read more

Visited the tulip festival yesterday and the weather was perfect. Had a great time walking around and loved the new baby cow. Staff were super friendly too. On the bad side was the cost for a weekday $19. $23 on a weekend. There was no entertainment on the stage, the slides weren't open, a lot of the food opportunities were closed. In general the tulips were beautiful but you really had to try to get good pictures because they were sparse. They allow cutting of tulips (for a fee) which due to the limited amount already, I think is going to be detrimental to the experience. read more

I was really disappointed with this place. I brought my 4 year-old and 1 year-old expecting to actually pick pumpkins from a patch, but it turned out to be nothing more than an overpriced playground. I don't know how this place can have an average of 3 stars. 10/10 would recommend this place for kids. I was here for the first time while they had the dinosaurs on exhibit. They had so much to do: A big obstacle course, huge slides to go down, tires to climb. My 4 year old son had a blast! The jumping pillow was a couple dollars extra, but definitely worth it! There are a ton of animals, and you can feed most of them through tubes that go into their cages. Even without the dinosaurs, we would have had a blast. But the dinosaur aspect was very well done! A walkway with a dozen different kinds of dinosaurs, people in big dinosaur costumes posing for pictures, fossil dig, baby dinosaurs to pet. It was awesome for my dino- loving kid. We had lunch at the Smoke House Grill. I had the Cherry bomb brisket sandwich, which was really tasty. The only downside was this place is in the middle of nowhere. We thought about dropping in for lunch nearby, but there's not much around. They had food trucks, concessions, and the grill though, so it wasn't an issue. Recently came for the Tulip Fest with my bff and our kids. It wasn't too crowded and there were tons to do! They had a huge checkers game, big playground, tether ball and so much more! Really nice games for younger kids. Tulips were so beautiful!! They had a lot of nice fields and a good variety of colors. Unfortunately, it started raining within about 30 mins after we got there It started to get chilly too so we had to leave but we did have fun while we were there! Visit Date: Oct. 12, 2024 I'm surprised to see a lower average rating of Kuiper's Farm since my experience with friends was nothing like those that left 1 star reviews. Perhaps I may be a kid at heart and find joy in a place that has plenty of family friendly activities and great eats thats paired with perfect weather. As we entered the farm, there were plenty of traffic coming in and out but this was to be expected. Things went by smoothly and there was an ample amount of parking for my friends and I. No issues there. We then started off our trip by eating at their "Farmhouse Kitchen". I got myself their Pit Master sandwich, their country potato salad, and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. The wait was long but was worthwhile because they were all delicious! The sandwich was well seasoned with good sauces, the potato salad was tangy, rich, and creamy, while the Mac and cheese just slaps! Love it! After feeding ourselves, we continued to explore the farm, plenty of opportunities to pet their lovely animals, watch some piggies race, and do more activities. We enjoyed both of their Horror Walk (inside and out) and we particularly had a blast with their apple cannons! (There is an extra fee for the apple launchers by the way). We ended our trip by trying out some sample apple slices and their cider, which had the perfect blend of freshness, tanginess, and sweetness by the way. And yes, I bought a bottle of it! I also bought myself a bag of kettle corn popcorn, which did not disappoint! It wasn't overly sweetened unlike other family farms around the state as well. Overall, my time with friends was spectacular and concluded that Kuiper's Farm is worth the drive. If you'd like to save some money however, I'd visit during the week as tickets are cheaper! This place is amazing with many varieties of tulips of many colors. Best time to visit is weekdays early in am to avoid the crowds and get your pictures in without interference. April 23 was first day, so tulips not peak yet. I would suggest bring extra shoes that you don't mind getting muddy. Put newspapers in your car. If fields are wet, your pants will get dirty. Some people dress up with colorful clothes to get a more professional photo memory look. Lots of props in the fields like tractors, bicycle, chairs, photo frame. read more

It was my first time visiting Kuipers Farm after Halloween, and I didn't feel overwhelmed by the crowds. I came here for only two things: handmade cheddar bacon flavor popcorn and donuts. It's become something of a tradition for me. From handcrafted sweets to snacks and alcoholic beverages, this farm has it all. Seasonal home decor is also available. The staff members are pleasant and made me feel welcome when I visited the facility, which is properly maintained and clean. I came to visit their sunflower patch and walked away with so many cute pictures! I was lucky enough to visit on a weekday afternoon so the place was basically empty. It was perfect since I didn't feel rushed or have to worry about strangers in the background of my pictures. The sunflower field is pretty large and included a smaller field of zinnias. There are plenty of photo ops (fences, bikes, tractors, etc.). Admission also included one flower to cut and take home! Our first time here in 6-7 years? When we went the first time it was cute, I discovered my love of pumpkin patches but the Kuipers I went to yesterday was an ADVENTURE FARM. They have added so much, giant slides, tractors you can sit on, an obstacle course and jumping balloon thing. The dinosaur show was awesome, kudos to that lady for tights under her shorts it was very very hot yesterday. My daughter loved the photo opp egg. I wish you could buy dinosaurs but it's okay. For roughly around $20 for the pumpkin part of the farm, it felt like one big playground. You can pick one pumpkin from their "field" which was just a big grass patch with small pumpkins as they had people forklift boxes full of pumpkins to pick out of. Just remember to hang on to that pumpkin ticket that allows you to take your pumpkin on your way out! They had a few food trucks but the lines were so incredibly long to get food. They do have very good homemade cider and did bring a few cans home, the berry hard cider was my favorite. They had pig racing which was actually quite entertaining. The corn maze was something fun to pass the time, and had corny jokes all throughout. Felt like a standard farm for a fall day. read more

There's no way this is a 3 star place. Ok, the reality is that the apple/pumpkin picking is just ok, but the actual activity area is every child's (and inner child's dream). I took my grandkids to the dinosaur exhibit. It was very well done. The dinosaurs moved and made noises. The size of some of them was unbelievable. The activities such as the bouncing pad, obstacle course and slide were all fun for them. The grounds were clean and everything was well maintained.
