Was in town to check out Virginia Tech university and stopped by this little gem and it was absolutely fantastic! Since I don't eat meat, I got the potato wrapped shrimp and the vegetarian ramen and it was really good. My family got the other ramen and sausages appetizer and they said it was yummy too. I was stunned to find ramen this good in little town in rural Virginia. The potato wrapped shrimp were perfectly cooked. The dipping sauce was Thai inspired. One person in my party got the veggie ramen, which, while tasty, had way too much salt in it. That's the only reason I'm giving a 4 and not a 5. What a great addition to Blacksburg! With this and Hefun, we now have a healthy selection for Japanese food. I have only had the strawberry smoothie and gyoza, but friends are raving about the rest of the food as well. The gyoza are crispy and have plenty of filling. The sweet sauce that comes on the side is also AMAZING. Strawberry smoothie is what you'd expect, but it's nice to have another bubble tea option off Price's Fork besides Sushi Factory. Honestly this was the ramen place that Blacksburg so desperately needed. Its located in a nice mall strip as well with a variety of options. Food: Mayu Tonkotsu really steals the show with its black garlic tonkotsu broth. The extra black garlic adds in the flavor that enhances the regular tonkotsu. The Hakata Tonkotsu is a regular pork broth is there to be your classic tonkotsu ramen. The pork melts nicely in your mouth and the broth is rich regardless of what you order. egg was a bit too runny. Kaarage was small and reminded me of chick fil a nuggets. Moon Milk tea is ok - just an average tasting milk tea, nothing to write home about. Takoyaki seemed reminiscent of store bought takoyaki. Service: Food came out quick and the servers were polite. I think that the ramen is reasonably priced, and the staff was attentive and checked on us often. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well which we appreciated. We had a coffee milk tea with 0% sugar with no tapioca pearls, and it was still perfectly sweetened without the added sugar. Service was friendly and prompt, we were able to get a table pretty quickly on a Tuesday evening just before the dinner rush of students from around Virginia Tech. When the dinner rush came it was definitely busy and a little louder but they seemed to be keep up with both dine-in and takeout. We ordered the Shrimp Tempura and Steamed Vegetable Gyoza. Food came out fresh and hot. the tempura batter was nice and crunchy, the gyoza had a lot of flavor even before dipping into the sauce. I think next time I'd like to try the fried version of gyoza rather than steamed. All together we ordered 2 "Hakata" Tonkotsu ramen and a Chicken Katsu plate. Everything was cooked well and all joined the clean plate club. The broth for the tonkotsu is very creamy and rich, the chashu is well cooked although the cut itself was pretty fatty. We were too full to order dessert. I did order a Pork Katsu to-go for my husband who didn't join us and that was also finished fairly quickly. We had to try to put the sugar chunks on top or in the doughnut, which was more trouble than it was worth. The fried dumplings were just ok. At first glance the ambiance looked nice, but as we ate we noticed some problems. We had to search a wall of the restaurant for a relatively clean table, even the one we found wasn't wiped properly. We also noticed the ceiling tiles were painted black. Because it looks so out of place, we think the paint might hide dirt and the such. Personally, I won't be back. read more

Wagyu ramen was naturally a bit pricey and probably not worth the price tag, but if you want an experience the beef is indeed very tender. Waited to leave this review until my 5th time coming. I've had several of the appetizers, several different milk tea, ramen, and chicken katsu. The ramen never disappoints flavor wise, it's a bit expensive but given its one of the only ones in the area it's fair. All the flavors are good and if you want some spice they give it to you. The chicken katsu was crispy and the rice has a great texture. At first I was upset because I felt like I didn't get enough curry but it was no problem for them to bring me more which I was really happy with! The boba tea here is the best in the Blacksburg and Christiansburg area. Besides the super cute cup designs (the bear lids!!), most of the drinks are made with care and look just like the picture. During usual times I'd say it takes around 5-8 minutes to receive your tea and about 12-13 for ramen. The service is great and while I was waiting for an open kiosk, two workers came up to me and asked if I was looked for a table to be sat down at. The ramen on the other hand is not that great. The eggs don't taste like they've been marinated at all, the meat I had in my ramen was overly salty, and the broth is just missing a "kick" that could make it so much better (reminds me a little of instant ramen soup bases). Sadly won't be ordering the ramen again but will be coming back for the awesome tea! read more

Only real cons were appetizers being delivered 5 minutes after the meal, and the spoon I had was a bit of flimsy plastic so better quality utensils would be appreciated.
