Visiting from out of state and happened across this place on a sunny Monday morning right at 11am. Strange concept of a South Korean chicken and jazz bar. Full bar with a decent number of beers on top. Cocktails no more expensive than $9. I did not encounter bad food as the 1 star below experienced for a new restaurant. Tonkatsu soup was tasty enough and not too salty. The cubes of tofu were firm enough to not break up. The edamame could have been salted a bit more. The soy garlic crispy chicken wings (6 for $10) were crispy enough and had the right amount of sweetness soy and a hint of garlic. Since I haven't gone inside and have only ordered delivery from here, my review is based solely on its Korean fried chicken. The Korean fried chicken is decent but is lacking in a lot of ways. It's not as flavorful as I feel it could be and although it tastes good, it's missing the "garlic" part of the soy garlic flavor. I ordered medium but it tastes like a mild, to be honest. If you really enjoy spice you may want to order a higher spice level. It's honestly not bad considering it's just about the only spot in Blacksburg that offers Korean food and is not a bad spot to try if you're desperate to get your hands on some Korean food. read more

Stopped by after visiting the Farmers Market and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Korean beef tacos with the spicy soy garlic sauce. They tacos were great and full of flavor. Also tried the chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and beef gyoza dumplings. Everything was good but the tacos were the highlight for me. The restaurant wasn't very crowded but they seemed to be going a lot of to go orders. Would definitely try again in the future. read more

Ridiculously RAW chicken. Ordered the 6pc bone-in spicy soy garlic fried chicken, which was bloody when we bit into it. The vein was red and oozing blood. Some meat adjacent to the bone was pink. Nobody in their right mind who knows the dangers of eating raw chicken would put that in their mouth. On top of that, when we called the waiter over to tell him that our chicken was undercooked, he told us that it was 'normal' he said (not verbatim) that the 'meat was white, and it's okay if the bone was red'. Take a look at the photo for yourself. The bone was not hot when we bit into it. NO absolute way that thing was cooked. I expressed my disbelief again, but the server did not change his mind. Other than that, I agree with other reviewers that ramen here was not good, overpriced, and lacked care in preparation. Broth is store-bought, noodles overcooked, egg not runny, toppings overpriced ($4 for pork topping and it wasn't even Japanese Char Siu pork belly?). Our total for the bill was just under $43 bucks for 2 bowls of ramen (the chicken was taken off reluctantly by the server). Can you believe that? Go somewhere else instead. read more

Ate here last week. Was excited for ramen. What I received was a bowl of mostly tasteless soup with what seemed like instant noodles and a few lousy shreds of beef (a $5.00 extra on top of $11.99). Guy had asked me what type of soup base it was and I told him and then learned when the bill came that the soup base is a dollar extra. What are you paying $11.99 for then? I'm not sure if the quality was low because the restaurant just opened, but everything we ordered was bad. I'm pretty sure the boneless wings were frozen nuggets you could get from the freezer section of your local grocery store. When you hear "Korean Fried Chicken", you think super crispy and double-fried. If that is your definition, then this place does not serve Korean fried chicken. It was more like "Frozen Nuggets with Pseudo-Korean Sauce". In fact, I don't think the chicken was even fried in the restaurant. Everything else we ordered was of similar quality. The ramen wasn't real ramen, it tasted like instant ramen (i.e., the broth was not genuine, it tasted like it was made with ramen powder). The takoyaki was cold in the middle, and I'm fairly certain that the gyoza and egg rolls were just bought frozen from Oasis and heated up. If you want re-heated frozen food, then this is the restaurant for you. Otherwise, I would recommend avoiding this place. read more

The Korean chicken is not the best compared to Korea, but gets the job done. The rice cakes were lacking I. That they were very off from authentic Korean rice cakes. The drinks are cheap with soju being only 12 dollars. The atmosphere is nice and I would go again for drinking as opposed to for dinner. read more

I ordered from this Restaurant on GrubHub so I can only speak to the quality of food and not the service. The food was overall REALLY GOOD!! I had the boneless wings, kimchi, and tonkotsu soup. The boneless wings seemed really fresh and were quite tasty, but I'd wish they'd put more sauce on them, I was glad to have ordered extra on the side. The kimchi was also quite good and seemed quite fresh and was very flavorful. My only complaint on the two of these was that they both could have been a lot spicier. The soup was really good as well, but I'm not sure tonkatsu is quite the right name. Think more like a really good miso soup rather than a super rich ramen broth. Overall I'd give it a 4.5/5, and really just wish there was more heat! read more

Terrible service. I was there for over two hours and it took over an hour to get my food and 30 minutes for us to be seen by a waiter and that was only after I asked multiple times.
