    Egg roll

Had a great experience here yesterday for an early dinner. There were three of us - I got the lobster roll, my brother an egg roll and chicken with garlic sauce and hubby got shrimp pad Thai. I can't say enough about how everything was fresh and delicious. The server was super friendly and accommodating and the ambiance is peaceful and fun. Oh and the chairs are super comfortable! This will be my go to for sushi, and all things Asian fusion. They offer takeout as well.

Kumo Asian Cuisine's second location is the place to be right now. It was a very busy Friday evening. We reserved a table, and got one by the men's restroom and the side entrance. Surprisingly, it didn't bother me too much. Next time, I'll ask for a seat in the main dining room or even at the sushi bar if it's just the two of us. I'd like to experience the place from different angles. Our very kind and polite server gave us plenty of time and space from the beginning. We had an opportunity to chat while perusing the menu and felt very welcome. It's a lovely restaurant, very new and clean. We ordered drinks, Riesling, Sapporo and Soju. The actual printed menu is simply beautiful and... heavy :). I truly had a problem making choices. Finally, painfully, because I wanted to eat everything that they offer, I decided on Sashimi Deluxe. I wasn't sure I could eat 18 pieces of raw fish, but that was exactly what I was craving for. Note: The difference between Sashimi Regular and Sashimi Deluxe is that Sashimi Regular contains 15 pieces of sashimi (not 18 as in the menu, it's a typo), while Sashimi Deluxe contains 18 pieces of sashimi. My order was screwed up. Besides Sashimi Deluxe I got Tricolor Sashimi. The worst part was having to explain why it wasn't my order. It should have been obvious. Yes, I only ordered raw fish. After a brief discussion between our server and the sushi chef, he finally admitted he'd made a mistake by offering to exchange what was already in front of me for what I actually wanted. He was very apologetic. There were three of us and it wasn't worth delaying our meal, especially since the Tricolor Sashimi looked absolutely delicious. I had to strongly express myself that I'm fine with what I got. My companions also ordered Rock Shrimp Tempura, Tamago Sushi, Spiderman Roll, and Sushi Deluxe (... or maybe Sushi Deluxe was a "mistake" and I ate my friend's Tricolor Sashimi? ... what a mess :). The Sushi Bar Main Entrees come with miso soup or salad. The miso soup was good, but we weren't excited about the shrimp appetizer. After trying the Superman Roll, which was generally very tasty, I remembered that I am not a huge fan of Kumo's spicy tuna. Anyway, we had a very nice time, but no one asked us throughout our stay if we wanted more drinks or dessert. At some point, the host simply brought the bill. The two of us paid by card, and I gave him cash. After returning from the ladies' room, I noticed I was overcharged. He must have simply mixed up who, what, etc. It wasn't a big deal, but it still shouldn't have happened. His priority should have been to take care of everything properly, that's all.

Amazing food, cool atmosphere, so excited to have them in Kenmore! They offer both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, though mostly Japanese. Indoor and outdoor seating though not a ton of parking (you'll need to go down a side street). Great service and definitely worth it though.

Filet Mignon Hibachi with Fried Rice. Very flavorful, but small portions for dinner.

Very clean restaurant, love the decor. Tasty food, however, small portions for dinner.

This was great. Very fresh and amazing. We shall definitely return. Small place but still very good. And clean.

This is such a cute sushi spot, especially for the Kenmore area! I feel like it has amazing Chinese and Japanese options since I had to try the Rangoons and they were 10/10. Service was great at lunch and the lunch specials made everything more affordable! We can't wait to come back to try more dishes

Great new place in Kenmore! They have a huge sushi menu, and several non-sushi options too. I tried three appetizers: gyoza, crab and cream cheese "ravioli" (not sure why they don't call them rangoons?), and chicken katsu. All were good, pretty solid four stars. I can't say it compares to food in Japan, but it's good. Staff was all super friendly and attentive, and even brought me a cold glass of water while I waited for my takeout order. There is a sushi bar you can sit at, a large room with regular tables, and a small outdoor patio with seating. You can call to order ahead too for a quick pickup if you aren't doing sit-down dining.

Relaxing and a total Gem in the Town of Tonawanda. Came for lunch - and totally a place to relax for an afternoon or evening. Stopped in and would highly recommend the location and the ambiance. Servers were attentive and welcoming. The food was great and seriously this is the best Japanese option in the area! Will say the best place to eat in the area! Dessert is worth staying for!!! The tempura Bananas was a must get 2!!!

I've always enjoyed dining at Kumo in Depew and was expecting that the food would be similar at the 2nd location. I was mistaken in my belief. The service here is just as professional as in Depew, but the food is superior, and that is saying a lot since I would give the original Kumo 4.5 stars! This location is stunningly beautiful, the service was exemplary, and the food was deserving of 6 stars!

When walking in, you order on a large screen and seat yourself. Unfortunately to order on the screen it charged us a $3 "NYC online ordering fee" which was very odd (in addition to sales tax) - in addition the screen also asks you for a tip before you even sit down! But we weren't given any other way to order besides the screen which was a turn off with an extra fee involved My date and I ordered the creamy tonkatsu and creamy broth with pork. Overall, the ramen wasn't terrible, but it really lacked a home style ramen flavor and was not hot. This may be something I've never said, but they brought the ramen out in less than 5 minutes which makes me think the ingredients aren't fresh. There were no additional sauces or anything at the table to add flavor to the ramen. I also wouldn't describe it as a creamy broth at all. We also ordered the takoyaki which to me seemed like a frozen variety. We also each got a bubble tea which was not anything special. It was surprising they didn't have a taro slush option. The server did bring out the food to us, but the extra "online" fee when ordering was a bit of a turn off in addition to the lackluster ramen. Overall I probably don't see a compelling reason to come back.

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon around 2pm after seeing all the hype Stepout Buffalo gave this place on IG. We were greeted by someone quickly where she tried explaining how it works - order on a giant touch screen which was simple enough. Didn't love the fact that they ask you for the tip before you even sit down but that's the way this country works these days (spoiler alert: the service was not worth the 20% aka $20 we tipped) The seaweed salad was a bit slimy but generally not bad. The gyoza were excellent, would def order again. So was the pork bao. The meat was perfectly breaded and seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the sauces that went with it were delicious. This is kind of where the greatness ended. Onto the ramen (the main reason we were there), the noodles were honestly not bad but that's pretty much the best part. The soup was non existent and cold by the time you get to it - I think it has to do with the fact that all the vegetable toppings are mostly cold. The broth was also super salty (with no real flavor), I think to make up for the fact that the toppings not being well seasoned (my bean sprouts were completely flavorless). The breaded pork again was good, but I didn't like how it sat in the soup and got soggy, perhaps it should have been served separately on a plate? The grilled sliced pork belly was good and flavorful. I've had ramen all over Japan so believe me when I tell you the broth is not authentic nor is it good, which kinda ruined the entire dish. Our drinks were overpriced and very average tasting. The boba was too mushy but I am from Taiwan, so I guess I have high standards when it comes to boba. All in all, a VERY expensive lunch where neither of us enjoyed our entree (ramen), and given that we live in the southtowns, it's unlikely that we will ever return, even if the gyoza and pork bao were very tasty. As a final note, the atmosphere sucked. The workers talked and giggled very loudly the entire time as if no one understood what they were saying (unfortunately for them, I understood every word). FYI - This place is NOT Japanese despite its Japanese name.

I'm on a quest for something to make me feel the burn. This wasn't it either. If I had to guess the ingredients, I'd say a cup of fried ground pork over a quart of mushy noodles, water for broth, and a sprinkling of chopped cilantro floating in a quarter teaspoon chili oil. At the very bottom of the bowl there was a slight taste of mala chili peppers. At $14 it was filling, nourishing, but I'd probably try the soup dumplings next time.

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.
