So excited, a real opening not an April fools day! I guess this makes me to have high standards. We ordered harumaki and spicy beef ramen and kumquat lemon. Coming in there are quite a few people already, I guess words travel fast. It's obvious they still try to get hang of it. Took a while before they came to take the drink order. When they finally came around we are ready with the food. Harumaki is ok, standard spring rolls. The kumquat lemon a letdown. All I can test is jasmine flavored. It's not bad but not what I expected. The ramen... a really big letdown.... The noodles good, I really like it but the broth, the beef... sigh... it's not rich and too much cilantro. I like cilantro on pho not ramen just changed it plus the broth not rich enough it just meh. You only get a thin one piece puny beef flavorless. The big rib? It just a boiled piece of meat! It is soft enough again no flavor. I added ear mushrooms as toping, mushrooms good and lastly... is NOT spicy at all! None, not a hint! I saw chili on top of noodles but yeah it just decorations. I won't buy this particular ramen but I'm willing to comeback and trying different one. Maybe they be better. I would say the Hamachi Nigri and Romantic Roll are probably my favorites, but I really enjoy exploring their menu too since everything is so good. My husband loves the Sweet Potato Roll best (: The service is always great. We are a little more on the shy and quiet side but every time we go, the people there are super kind, friendly, attentive and always have a greeting and a goodbye. It really makes you feel valued. On Sunday around seven, the restaurant was practically empty. Sushi boats typically contain sashimi, nigiri, and at least two special rolls selected by the chef. The Titanic at Ichiban comes with a Christmas Roll (spicy crunchy tuna, avocado, red tobiko) and a Honado Roll (tempura fried roll with spicy tuna, avocado, cream cheese). We asked whether it's possible to have a roll without cream cheese. It turned out we couldn't substitute the Honado Roll. So, we asked just to omit the cream cheese. A while later, our server came back with a proposal: for an extra charge, we could choose any other roll we wanted. By that time, we decided to have the original version of the Honado Roll with cream cheese. So, there was a bit of a hitch right at the start. With the Titanic boat, you choose between a miso soup or a salad. The soup was too salty but generally tasty. Now, very briefly about the sushi itself. We enjoyed almost everything. The Christmas Roll was very good. The salmon was superb. The fried Honado Roll came without the cream cheese, and I thought it was the least tasty sushi roll I have ever had. The shrimp nigiri were definitely a disappointment as well. Our server was pleasant and tried to be helpful from the beginning. Later, strangely, she came over to our table right in the middle of our conversation, while we were still enjoying our meal, and asked if we needed a container for leftovers. Leftovers?! I immediately thought the restaurant was about to close and that we had overstayed our welcome, but that wasn't the case. She brought us the bill right after that, even though we hadn't asked for it yet. So, for some reason, she simply tried to speed up our exit. I'm sure Ichiban serves very good food (we saw takeouts being prepared), but I won't be going back soon, definitely not for a Titanic. One more thing, and it's definitely a downer. This may be something I've never said, but they brought the ramen out in less than 5 minutes which makes me think the ingredients aren't fresh. There were no additional sauces or anything at the table to add flavor to the ramen. I also wouldn't describe it as a creamy broth at all. We also ordered the takoyaki which to me seemed like a frozen variety. We also each got a bubble tea which was not anything special. It was surprising they didn't have a taro slush option. The server did bring out the food to us, but the extra "online" fee when ordering was a bit of a turn off in addition to the lackluster ramen.
