Tried this for the first time yesterday with my fam and loved it. My parents are longtime fans of their seafood selection and I gotta say it's not bad! There is a big selection of cooked seafood, which is my jam! I tried sea whelk for the first time but I feel like they were really overcooked; taste was not bad though. The soup selection was really good and I found that the wontons in beef brisket broth was bomb. I loved their sauce bar where I could add extra scallions and cilantro to anything. They even had a little crepe station for mini crepes with jam. Dessert section could've been better. There were not many choices and no ice cream. No Mongolian BBQ but they did have hotpot available for an upcharge. Plenty of parking in the strip mall area and the servers were friendly.

I have heard friends talk this place up for years, so my expectations going in were admittedly pretty high. I have to admit I was let down. Firstly, the service... we arrived at 11:30 on a Wednesday. There was no one at the host stand. I waited a couple of minutes. I saw employees working on the buffet. I was wondering if we were supposed to seat ourselves. I made my way over to the employee working on setting up the buffet to ask her if we were supposed to seat ourselves when the host appeared from behind us and asked if we wanted a table or booth. He apologized and said he needed to use the restroom. When we were seated, we went to the buffet. Dissappingly, the fried selections, including the tempura vegetables, egg rolls, cheese sticks, and chicken wings, were cold and not good at all. My whole reason for coming. In fact, the reason I didn't leave when there was no host to greet us was the sushi. So many have talked up the vast selection and great quality of the sushi. Sadly, I found the quality to be okay but not what I was expecting. I also found the offerings to be a bit pedestrian. Very limited. I doubt very much I will be returning to Kumo in the near future.

Disgusting Food and service! They do not check the food before serving it , it's not clean food was 2/10 and service was -1/100 if I could give 0 stars I would Do not eat here

If it's a buffet, why are you charging extra then again

Its supposed to be a buffet the people next to us got charged six dollars and something a pound for eating the crab. There's no sign up there to indicate that it's extra. They charge you $1.50 extra if you want ice cream from the back if you want an extra one I thought the idea of a buffet is all you can eat. Stopped Shashi when I asked for the guy back there got really nasty with me. Why would I want to come back? It's very disappointing for $25 a person. We should've had a lot more options on that and I have to pay extra for other stuff other than our drinks.

This place has slowly gone downhill. This once was a family favorite. My extended family would come here to meet on special days. I'm unsure if we will now. The quality and variety have been lacking. The buffet used to be extensive with a crepe station and multiple buffet aisles and even an ice cream bar. Now, it's one sad semi-circle of subpar food. The fried rice is just colored rice. There are no peas and other vegetables that once were mixed in with the rice. It's pretty obvious that that place is cutting costs. This is understandable since the economy isn't so good and many people are struggling. However, I feel inclined to write something since my hot pot was served in a broken bowl. When I inquired about this, the server just told me it was for decoration and doesn't actually hold my soup. Decoration means it's supposed to look good... not ghetto.

Opened back up for dine-in with every other booth and table roped off. Buffet is covered in plastic wrap and you point to what you want which is then portioned on a paper plate for you to eat with plastic utensils. Diet Coke came in a can. Salmon was hot in a sweet sauce but woefully overdone. "New York steak" was basically black pepper beef chunks with bell pepper hunks and celery pieces but was flavorful and not too overcooked. Mango chicken was burning hot and basically orange chicken. There were fried balls with some sort of what I think was a sweet bean filling and some sesame seeds on the outside which were dry and hard to chew. The coconut shrimp (wet breaded) was probably the only somewhat above average dish in flavor and freshness. The fried calamari was all cool in temperature and tough to chew. The tuna and salmon nigiri were respectable. The rest of the sushi items had dry rather hard rice. You can't expect much from a freshly reopened buffet with hardly any customers now in a CoVid-affected era, so don't come thinking anything "buffet" is back to regular (read: average) quality. They tried but still earn 3 stars. This cost $16.99 for a buffet which stunk and $1.99 for Diet Coke with refills for a total of over $20 bucks! Way too much for this low level of quality.

Ask the Community - Kumo Japanese Seafood Buffet

Do they have salmon for lunch or is this only available for dinner?

Last I went, it was served for lunch as well.

Does this place have raw oysters on the buffet?

Yes in fact they do and they are delicious

Curious about the difference in selection between lunch and dinner buffet. Last time I went for lunch the seafood selection was pretty lacking and I don't think the Mongolian grill was open. Is there a better selection during dinner time?

Your observation is pretty spot on about the difference. During lunch they do not have the Mongolian grill and they don't serve as much seafood, they tend to serve mainly sushi and hot buffet food like mango chicken, egg rolls, lo mien, etc. During… Read more

I'll share what I absolutely love about Omizu. I usually order from UberEats, and I normally just order salmon rolls, spicy tuna rolls, etc., because I normally have avocado at home. This one time--I didn't have any. But I also didn't want to pay extra for avocado. I placed a note in my UberEats order "PLEASE ADD AVOCADO". And they did--no extra charge. I was so happy and I devoured my meal. My top picks: * Spicy Tuna * Salmon Lover * Salmon Roll, Tuna Roll, & Spicy Salmon Roll One day, we went inside to celebrate my friends birthday. She was a fan of hibachi, and wanted to try sushi for the first time. I had came earlier and asked them to store a cake for me--they gladly took it and presented it at a timely manner for us to celebrate her first sushi + her cake! Above and BEYOND this restaurant goes--impeccable service and quality.

**This is a 3.5 star review.**…read more I was looking for something a little different in the culinary challenged town of Parma, and this joint fit the bill. The atmosphere here was warm, inviting and clean on our visit. And despite that they had bluegrass music blaring, it still felt like a Japanese restaurant. Service here was also polite, quick and efficient. I started with an order of calamari, which literally came out in two minutes. It was panko-crusted and about as rubbery as the set of Michelins that I had installed on my car a few weeks ago. That's not a deal-breaker, as there have been only two places in my life that have served melty calamari -- both of them Italian joints, As an aside, there are two secrets to cooking calamari. First, they need to soak in milk, as the lactic acid breaks down muscle. Secondly, they need to be dredged in an egg mixture so they brown quickly without overcooking the meat. But I digress. I took a couple sips of the miso soup, which was nicely flavored. I didn't touch the salad, but the person who did said it was good. The udon noodles were nicely presented and had excellent flavor. The coconut shrimp was the total opposite of the calamari in that it was cooked to perfection. I'm not sure what the dipping sauce was, but it was also phenomenal, and I'll be looking for a copycat recipe. As for the sushi, it was good. Not earth-shattering, but beautifully presented with a nice contrast of flavors and temperatures. I'm not sure about the cherry on top, but what the hell. If I lived here, this place would be a regular stop for me ... especially because they have Sam Adams Boston Lager on draft.

Where else can you get all-you-can-eat sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi, and other appetizers for under 30 bucks? I went here for dinner, and for $28.99, I got a whole lot of sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi scallops, shumai, strawberry ice cream, etc. Everything was delicious. The sashimi tasted great, and the sushi rolls were filling, though thankfully, Kintaro doesn't go too heavy on the rice. I thought the hibachi scallops were better than a lot of non-AYCE hibachi restaurants. They were tender and flavorful, and if I wasn't absolutely stuffed from the sashimi and sushi, I would have gotten another order of scallops. Like always, the service was great, and the staff was friendly. Our server frequently checked up on us and refilled our waters. So glad that you can still get a reasonably priced, delicious, and beyond filling meal here, even during these times of economic uncertainty.

Everything tasted fine, so we just assumed it was a communication issue. So we came back, this time it had a quarter of the menu and the quality took a sharp dive. Pretty amazing since it had been less than a week. Most of the menu was missing, our waiter seemed clueless, nice but clueless. I've never been to a hotpot that didn't have quail eggs all day. All the grill meat came out frozen, the cuts were thin and bad. The green peppers tasted like the blade that cut them, dry and metallic. I don't know that was way too wild a swing in quality we won't be back. We can't win with hotpot in Ohio it seems, for how much hotpot is in the US, I expect better than this. Kpot is still the worst but this last time at Kintaro is up there. Guess I'm looking for another hotpot place. It was clean and organized, the floor is in bad shape in the dining area but other than that it didn't feel dirty or unkempt.
