Omgosh this is so awesome. The highlight of Buffalo is Walmart (what is that??) and then came Kung Fu Tea. Whoever thought about franchising a Kung Fu Tea up here is a genius! Its not even your typical small cramped bubble tea shop but the decor is awesome. It's really pretty. Also I freakin LOVE avacado and avacado fries the concept of it is already making me drool. When I was a student at UB I loved Kung Fu Tea. Recently, I decided to pop in for a visit to reconnect. It wasn't busy, but the employees were pretty rude to me and ignored me while I waited at the register. With how much effort it takes to order, you'd think the tea is free, but I'll assure you it isn't. I went for the classic Taro milk tea with bubbles; the classic. "Nobody can mess it up" I thought, but I was proven wrong. When the drink came out, it was brown colored (not even a tinge of the bright purple I expected) and had no sweetness or taro taste. The employees assured me it was Taro, so I suppose I must just be crazy or something. Ultimately, the name of the game has changed. More restaurants are serving bubble tea, new places have opened. When I wrote my initial review, Kung Fu has a unique menu and drinks not found elsewhere. Nowadays, I wouldn't even consider them next time. read more

Kung Fu Tea - Yummy!!! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Amherst, New York

I stop by here before classes on a pretty regular basis. The inside looks like a club...sort of... with white couches and tables and dark walls. They have a karaoke room that is rented out by the half hour but I've never tried it. I typically get an order of popcorn chicken and a jasmine milk tea with boba, less sugar, less ice. So lemme break that down a bit... KFT allows you to fully customize your order. They have 5 different sugar levels and a few different ice levels. Full Sugar, Less Sugar (70%), Half Sugar (50%), Little Sugar (25%) and no Sugar. Ice... is similar but not as granular as sugar. Then you have an option of including different chewables in your beverage: Boba (tapioca balls), red bean, lychee and so on. I would say that the milk tea is good. It seems like it's brewed vs mixed with powder. I haven't tried a lot of other drinks but I'm willing to vouch for the jasmine milk tea. The popcorn chicken is fairly good as well. Nothing super special but a tasty snack before class. If you check in on yelp you get 10% off your food order. If you want to use their wifi, it's free... just use the following password: ilovekft The prices are a bit high, in my opinion. Service seems a bit slow but the food and drinks seem to be made on order and not pre-made and heated. Since this place is staffed by younger students... service quality varies quite a bit. Some folks are nice while others seem to be preoccupied with whatever else they have going on in their lives. Like I said before... I like coming to get a quick snack and for that purpose... I'd say I'm a fan. Management could benefit from training their employees to be consistent in providing better service. read more

I love their bubble tea but it tends to be a bit too sweet so I usually get 1/2 sugar with less ice. I enjoy their taro, oolong, matcha, green bubble teas. I've their fries (which weren't very good.. I'm going to assume it was because I went at 7pm) and their pork belly buns which I enjoyed. I'm gonna give the fries another chance, not quite sure how you even mess up fries but I'll be back. Just went in today to grab some drinks for myself and a friend. Ordered something that wasn't available, and the cashier recommended a few other drinks. When he gave us our drinks he also told us to let him know if we didn't like them so he could maybe change them for us. STELLAR customer service. Went above and beyond. Finally found this place during a necessary trip to UB north campus. I usually don't come to campus for food, but I had other business to take care of. I had read all the positives about this place and finally found it in an outdoor courtyard of restaurants near the student union. The atmosphere is pretty neat. Perfect spot to take a date or just for opening up the books. They have a wide variety of different bubble teas (my fav is the taro). They have this neat machine whose sole purpose is to shake/mix the tea - it kept me fairly entertained while I was waiting for my drink! They also serve food but we'll have to try next time. We were very surprised to find this hidden gem. We missed a movie tonight, and went for food in place of the movie. The food is pretty cheap we were able to get 2 bubble teas, pancakes, dumplings and pork rice, all for under $20. The decor was very clean and ultra modern. Felt a little old, not realizing when we are headed there at this is on a college campus. I am truly glad that we stopped , we will absolutely stop by again at some point. read more

The students on UB's campus talk this place up a lot for what it's actually worth. The atmosphere is incredibly upscale (4 star restaurant worthy) in comparison to the rest of the schools restaurants, however the value that you receive is far less than what is to be expected from the decor. The menu is quite a bit perplexing unless you're a regular at this restaurant, so I suggest going with someone who's been before. You might want to consider prepping yourself for this endeavor because the cashiers also had attitudes to be expected from high schoolers. Also, make sure you bring quite a large sum of cash, since the place is quite pricy- I spent ~$20 on two large bubble teas. The service was relatively quick, however the quality was less than I would have liked. The taro bubble tea was lacking flavor; I suspect they cut corners by skipping out on the powder that's put in the milk. The fries, however, we're very nice. Small, but nice. They have a seasoning on them that is sweet and salty, with assorted Asian seasonings that I cannot quite identify. They were doused in this mixture though and I would have preferred a little less of it. My suggestion is to visit Kung Food off south campus. It has much higher quality for almost half the cost. read more

The atmosphere/decor of this place is amazing. Its not only awesome for a cafe on Campus grounds but also cool enough to look like a cafe in NYC! The bubbles in the bubble teas are good too. I haven't tried a great variety but their Classic Kung Fu Tea and their Green Tea bubble tea are pretty good. I think the price is a bit too high compared to how much you get, but I still find myself going back there every so often. Also, their Avocado Fries are delicious. KFT's milk teas are reminiscent of those at Tapioca Express back home, which is both good and bad. Both places have perfectly cooked tapioca most of the time, but the milk teas tend to be over-sweet and milky, overpowering the tea base. I would recommend adjusting the sugar level, but in my experience, ordering 25% less sugar (not even half!) has made the drink taste bitter. This being the case, I prefer the fruit teas as they are usually well-proportioned between sweetness+tea and have not yet disappointed. Slightly overpriced, but decent- satisfying when you're craving boba. read more

This place is awesome for their bubble teas. They also provide an wide array of foods though I haven't tried them. The bubbles of the bubble tea is different from all the other bubble teas I have had. They smell like rose and taste sweet. My favorite is the coconut milk bubble tea. read more

I was excited to hear Kung Fu Tea was opening on campus since I had been to the locations in Flushing and also spent some time living in Taiwan, I always have a craving for a taste of Taiwanese food and bubble tea. I have been a handful of times and had food here once. I've only eaten the tea eggs and dumplings and and both were tasty. One of my favorite things is you can ask for 30% sugar and less ice, which I always get to avoid a sugar overload. Definitely recommend Kung Fu Tea for bubble tea and food as well. Kung Fu Tea has amazing bubble tea. I would highly recommend the taro milk tea or the almond milk tea, with bubbles of course. The environment is really chill and they always have good music playing. The employees are very nice and get orders done quickly. I go there every Friday after class to treat myself, and it's a great place to just relax and enjoy delicious bubble tea. The only complaint I would have is the price. I always get a large milk tea and it used to be $5.17 but they recently raised the price to $5.44, and almost every nearby restaurant/cafe that sells bubble tea is cheaper. Convenient location, great bubble tea, great customer service, and chill ambiance. The price doesn't keep me from going there every Friday so I guess it must be pretty good! read more

There is usually a line out the door depending on when you come here. The service is average. They also serve a variety of asian sweets like egg tarts. I can't comment on the quality of those but they're pretty pricey. They have a lot of seating and a couple of comfy booths if you want to sit and chill here for a while, but it tends to get crowded and it can be noisy. Not what I expected. I felt the quantity of food was less. The prices look cheaper than elsewhere on UB campus but you'll end up paying a lot more if you want to eat a decent amount of food so you don't end up having a food break two hours later. Also, I specifically asked for a lactose free bubble tea, maybe one with yogurt, but I was given a milk based one and had to endure two days of agony. So, if you're lactose intolerant, please make sure it is a lactose free one before taking a sip. The bubble tea was alright. Not as good as it's hyped up to be. The ambience is very nice though. I love this place! I work on UB's North Campus so fortunately it's a short walk over to it. The tea's they have are delicious and the food is good as well. My typical go to beverages are Winter Melon Green Tea, Winter Melon Milk Green Tea, and their Macha Red Been Slush and all with bubbles. Always nom nom. The customer service is always great. The environment is a good chill spot. Music is sometimes on blast so not the best place for a serious meeting or serious work/studying but great to loosen up a little and hang out with friends. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The braised pork buns are not made with pork but fat only. The popcorn chicken is dry tasteless fried chicken chunks covered with sugar! The bubble tea here is really good, probably best in Buffalo. The bubbles are really good, a bit sweet and the texture is just right. Some of the drinks are a bit weird though, like the honey tomato twister, not really a fan of that one. I've tried a number of the snacks. Pork rice is good. The popcorn chicken is a bit salty but good to share. I like tea eggs, theirs were really good the first time I got it but second time, I don't think they were quite ready yet. I like curry skewers too - fish balls and fish tofu. I tried the vietnamese egg rolls too, pretty good. They have nice booths that sort of enclose so you can have a lot of privacy. read more

It gets very busy and crowded in here, sometimes they run out of certain things on the menu here as well due to its popularity among the students, but the variety of drink options here are great, and they have tons of flavors for bubble tea. I love that this location also has a hot food menu, (on which I definitely recommend the cutlet curry with rice). There are several Kung Fu Tea's scattered around Maryland and Virginia, and none of them offer a hot food menu. In short, everything here is delicious. read more

Finally found a place with macaroons in Buffalo!! I recommend the rose and vanilla :). A bit expensive, but I guess that's to be expected. I'm more familiar with Tea Leaf (right down the road) and I prefer its menu layout because I was confused ordering and it turns out the pineapple tea wasn't bubble tea.. but the set up of Kung Fu Tea is pretty impressive. I would go there again, just hope they start taking campus cash soon! read more
