I would give Jamba Juice four stars based on many factors. For one, its location is ideal. It is…read moreright in the center of campus and is in a good spot to stop at between classes. It has a casual, walk-up setting. You can feel free to wear your pajamas or comfortable attire to it. The atmosphere at Jamba Juice is always friendly. The workers are always happy and engage in joyful conversation. One worker, named Derrick, always gives me free smoothies when he is working. It is kind gestures like this that make Jamba Juice an enjoyable experience. Aside from the social aspect of Jamba Juice, the products that they produce are more than satisfying. Their smoothies are made with fresh ingredients and are never too sugary like other smoothie competitors. Jamba juice also has extra ingredients that you can add to any smoothie order like kale or chia seeds. Another great thing about Jamba Juice that many people do not know about is their secret menu. Their secret menu can be found online and includes things that you can order there that are not necessarily displayed on the menu at the location. A major drawback about Jamba Juice is the time that it requires. There is always a long line to get to the register, and once you place your order, you have to wait for your smoothie to be prepared by one of the understaffed workers. If you have the time, Jamba Juice is a great option.

We split two sourdough toast options--the Slavic Smash and the Tuscan Brie. Both were nicely presented and the bread itself was good, but overall the flavors felt a bit muted. They weren't bad by any means, just lacking that extra punch that would make them stand out.

It was not super busy, so I was able to order as soon as I was ready. Their display case was neat and organized and their menu with pricing was prominently displayed behind the counter with pricing as well as a couple laminated copies on the counter by the register. I love to try different things, so I was excited that they have a "sampler" called Le Trio. You get to choose two half tartines (topped sourdough toast), one pastry from the case and it comes with a small arugula salad for $18. I opted for the Slavic smash and Nordic dawn tartines (descriptions in pics) and a pear pastry to-go. While I waited, I perused the coolers, freezer and shelving with European and local specialty foods. There were a lot of interesting things that I would consider purchasing though I didn't get any on this visit. Both tartines had an ample amount of toppings and were absolutely delicious. The flavors were very well balanced and nothing made the sourdough soggy even with it being to-go. The pear pastry wasn't my favorite, but it was still good. I think there was a little toouch crust to pear for my liking. I wouldn't definitely visit again and probably try a drink. They had a pink beet root matcha latte on the specials menu that sounded really good, so I can only imagine I will find something intriguing on upcoming specials menus as well.

Every single time I visit, I'm blown away by how they whip up each drink with such amazing flavors. The bursting boba is always spot-on. I've played around with so many flavor combos, and I can't say I've ever been disappointed--well, maybe just once when my drink had a bit too much lemon for my taste and not enough raspberry, but that's really rare for them as it was a first for me! The pad Thai--it's seriously the only thing I ever order because it's absolutely amazing! It always comes out hot and full of flavor that never lets me down. I can't recommend this place enough! Absolutely a five-star experience! If you haven't been yet, you really need to check it out--you'll be so glad you did!

We ordered the papaya salad, vermicelli combo, and the beef pho combo. The papaya salad was extremely disappointing. It wasn't quite Thai style and it wasn't quite Vietnamese style. It was a blend of the two and turned out sweet and nutty. It was misssing a lot of the elements that made papaya salad normally so satisfying and refreshing. There was no sour, no savory, and no kick at all. The vermicelli salad was not good at either. All of the meats were overcooked and lacked any flavor. The shrimp in particular was rubbery and barely paletable. The egg roll tasted like cheap Chinese restaurant eggroll. They also left the eggroll whole so I had to rip it to pieces by hand. The dressing was very mild and did not bring out any other flavors in the dish. Instead, it watered down any flavors that may have been there. A dash of strong fish sauce could have made the dish do-able, but when I asked for some, they brought out more of the weak dressing that the dish came with. The only saving grace was the pho. It wasn't top notch but the broth was a good mix of herbal and beefy and hit the spot. If you come here, just get the pho and save yourself the heartache and disappointment. My wife was so disappointed that after we left, I ordered papaya salad from Mandalay Restaurant down the road so she can get her papaya fix. To the restaurant, you guys have such a nice spot. Fall in love with your food again and bring forth some bold and authentic flavors. It's easy to get complacent when you are one of a few spots that have this type of food. You are unique enough to stand out in Buffalo, New York, but these dishes and flavors won't fly anywhere else. I know you are better than this.
