Kung Fu Tea hit the spot after a morning of roaming around town. I don't believe there was a private parking lot and street parking was scarce so one of my girls stayed in the car while my other girlfriend and I went inside to do the drink run. I can't remember the exact name of the drink I ordered but it was something along the lines of Ginger Milk Tea with boba -- it was fantastic. Not too sweet or creamy with just the right hints of ginger. My girlfriends enjoyed their drinks also. Be sure to adjust the sweetness and ice levels to your preference. I noticed the menu shared that the milk used is powder which I'm not a huge fan of so if you aren't either -- perhaps, order it with less milk. Other than that, stop in to support a local small business and treat yourself to a sweet and refreshing drink. As of October 2020, it is takeout only.

I was super excited when I found out that there was a Kung Fu Tea in Boulder. The boba that I've had at other locations have always been of perfect quality, and this location was no different. However, I was surprised when I ordered the Winter Melon milk tea and found that it tasted different than the ones I've had at other locations. That being said, I wasn't too bothered as the drink still tasted really good. My friend got Taro milk tea, which is my normal go-to. I was shocked by how different that one tasted as well. I suppose not all Kung Fu Tea's are not the same. We still enjoyed our drinks and will forever keep Kung Fu Tea high up on our list of boba shops.

Place is clean inside but seems you have to pay for parking in a lot. Located near University of Boulder. I think it took a unusual amount of time to prepare our beverages. I got a Tara Bubble Tea and there were ample amount of "bubbles "however I thought the drink itself was rather sweet.

    Looks very intriguing.

Update May-27th-2018: I tried out their new Thai milk tea this weekend. It was a meh compared to other specialized Thai restaurants I have been to. Would not recommend. Stopped by this store after a hike near boulder as a treat to myself. The store was clean and the interior was cute. This branch did not seem to be as busy as the one in Denver. I was there on a Sunday at around 2pm. Only 1 table was taken. There were 2 staffs at the cashier with no waiting line. Music at this store was not as loud as the Denver store, which I prefer. As shown on their flyers, this Kung Fu tea branch serves lunch meal. I am highly curious to come back to try the lunch combo since the pictures looked pretty good. I ordered my routine kung fu milk tea with herbal jelly add-on. Taste of the tea was good as usual with perfect amount of milk and cream. Will come back more often in the summer after all the rough hikes!

I've been to these in other states/cities, but this location is a solid as well. Always delicious. Decided to try something new and got their yogurt drink with boba. The yakult and green tea really go together amazingly! I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Went to the counter to ask for a reimbursement (drank only a few sips). They said no. They were willing to make me another smoothie but here's the thing: the smoothie is majority water/ice. I wouldn't want to pay 11$ for a flavorless slushee (but I already had). I asked if I could have some chips instead, again they said no. Oh, and their POS is set on default 15% tip but there is no FOH service. Tipping is for a job well done, not paid in advance. Did they mess up my smoothie because I didn't tip in advance??.

We tried a lot of things on the menu and liked each dish. But our absolute favorites were the kimchi sweet potato fries (this was a crowd favorite dish and we're still dreaming about it), ginger chili potstickers (so good!), and the hot fudge cake with ice cream for dessert (melt in your mouth warm chocolate cake with ice cream, it was 10 out of 10). We also enjoyed the butternut penne, everything crunch salad, and butternut squash arancini which were all delicious. Also, the bread deserves its own shout out - very soft and warm, and still rich in flavor. Easily the best bread I've had in a long time. Service was great with a friendly and attentive staff. Ambiance was warm, inviting, cozy and sophisticated. Would definitely recommend stopping here to anyone!!

I've been here many times in a variety of ways--sat at the bar, at tables with friends and by myself, both inside and outside, and even experienced the large farm table prix fixe menu, which was fantastic. My experiences have consistently been great--the food, service, and atmosphere have always been top-notch. Tonight, however, was my first disappointing visit. I ordered the root vegetable bruschetta, which was very good. I also ordered the butternut squash penne pasta, a dish I've had before and really enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time it was extremely spicy. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or if it was just a heavy hand in the kitchen, but it was not something I could eat. I mentioned it to the waiter, who didn't have an answer, so I simply asked for a to-go container. Since I couldn't eat it, I later gave the container to a homeless woman sitting nearby with her grocery cart. On my way out, I spoke with someone at the door who brought over the manager. The manager asked if he could see the dish, so I opened the container for him. He then asked if he could taste it and reached in, picked up a noodle, and tried it, saying he didn't notice anything unusual. He also wasn't aware of any changes to the recipe. I suggested that if the dish is now spicy, it might be helpful to note that on the menu so guests know what to expect. What left me disappointed wasn't just the dish itself, but how the situation was handled. There wasn't an offer to replace the meal or provide an alternative, which would have gone a long way. As someone who is only about six months into living in Colorado and a new business owner in the area, I often refer places I believe in. Tonight left me questioning whether I will continue to recommend Leaf based on how this was handled, though I'm hopeful that by tomorrow morning I may feel differently. That said, based on my many past positive experiences, I still believe Leaf is a great restaurant. I just hope this was an off night and that a little more attention is given to both consistency in the kitchen and how concerns are handled moving forward.

Some items are now where they should as have been, like peanut butter is now next to jam and jelly jars rather than applesauce and baby disposable diapers! Who ever thought up that choice? But now all the chicken is in sealed packages rather than the fresh case. The staff has offered to open a package to sell only a smaller amount but I wonder how likely they will have time for this? A loss for me as I only buy for two people most of the time. Another change is that the olive bar is stand alone and no longer dished out into containers to grab and go. Much more chance of contamination from a different item from another bin. I still prefer this store for many things though both of the smaller Whole Foods location have a usefulness too. The previous in store location of Birdcall is now gone the the free standing location at Twenty Ninth Street Mall is still open and has seating a parking better than when it served here. It's nice to see staff members still working here for 20 years but also nice that some turnover happens for new energy too. I came especially for Playa Bowls as I had sampled the açaí option at a recent Yelp event in town. My friend wanted a more traditional lunch so she used the adjacent Chinese food from a long standing north Boulder favorite that relocated here last January I was so excited to see them that I will go back next week for my favorite dish they used to make, only on Tuesday. The Playa bowl was made quickly and efficiently by the staff. I had it customized to be less sweet by leaving off the honey on top. The whole bowl was packed with açaí with protein added, deep chilled but not as hard as ice cream. A lot of banana on top too and a tasty whole grain granola. I'm not usually a granola fan but put cold fresh açaí under it and it's a whole new dish. I had to bring half of it home and was told to keep fresh in my freezer for a second serving. I have walked by this food court on the Hill for decades but had not been inside to eat in many years. If that is you too, know that it is now nice and clean and light, no pets, no out of control hangers on, just a good collection of kitchens and students and random adult workers sharing space and not too loud either. There is a central refuse area now so no overflowing open barrels by the kitchens. If you are looking g for quick decent food on the Hill it's a good option again. Both Bento Ria and Flower Pepper have relocated here when their original spaces in out dated structures were torn down for redevelopment. There were others there too, none of which I knew about. It was just a little noisy at noon though seating was ample today, probably not on a game day so like everything on the Hill, check the football schedule before heading up. No parking close by, so walk from "somewhere."
