I had the standard KT bubble milk tea with 50% sugar, and I was disappointed... the tea had a bitter, overdone taste with burned sugar flavor.. not sure if something wasn't cleaned well, but I've definitely had better. Bubbles were chewy and they weren't sweet at all, unlike some other shops, making them unbalanced when it came to the tea being not sweet, either... guess 50% sweet was a problem for them. The Oreo wow was enjoyed by the kids, though, simple Oreos in Lactaid, so not complicated but also not as good as just simple milk with Oreos. Great service, quick and easy online ordering. Parking is plenty on the street. My order was ready right away when I ordered on the app but if I ordered in person I'm sure it would be super quick too. They weren't all that busy. Wanted to preface by saying I love KFT, but I ordered the Wow Red Bean milk tea yesterday, and noticed the tea part was really white. I thought it I just had to mix it but when I tasted it, the guy who made it used ALL milk - no tea! They may have run out of tea just after the lunch rush/$8 for 2 deal on Wednesday, but I was super surprised to be drinking straight milk. We waited only a short time after that for our order to be made. I ordered the Winter Melon Green Tea Milk Tea with bubbles. I asked for 50% sugar, but was told 70% was the minimum sugar for my order. It was fine for me and while a little sweeter than I preferred, it tasted good, but keep it in mind if ordering certain sweet teas if it is important to you. The bubbles were sweet and chewy, just as I like them. There are lots of descriptions of the add ins but not a lot about the actual drinks. It may help to read up a little about the different drinks to help understand what you are ordering. The variety can feel overwhelming if you are not familiar with it all! Only thing I would say is bad about this location is their parking situation, it's very cramped and there are only a handful of spots. Their store is in a pretty good location however parking could get difficult. I like that there's a free 15 minute parking outside, perfect for to go orders. The store here has a good size, pretty well maintained and clean (with a gender neutral bathroom too!) Staff are nice and bubble teas taste very good! I like that kung fu tea in general comes with a plastic seal rather than removable lids. I prefer this as i like to order extra teas to bring home and drink for later. I like the tea at Kung Fu Tea better than most bubble tea chains but the closest one near me is in Edison and that branch has a strange smell. Like most bubble tea places these days, you can customize the sugar and ice level and you can add a variety of toppings for a cost. The menu is similar to most bubble tea places with milk tea, slushies, etc. Unlike other places, I noticed they offer wow milk, their lactose intolerant version. Their loyalty program is more complicated than other chains such as Gong Cha. You have to download their app and use the app to pay. I don't need another app on my phone taking up space! Kung Fu Tea is always a classic, reliable spot. This time I got the black sesame oolong milk tea with boba, half sweet, which might be limited time only. The sesame flavor was nice and strong (almost a little too rich for me). It also made the drink creamier which is good. Oolong flavor was not as strong but it was still there. Sweetness level was ok too, but since it was so rich, maybe I would go with even less next time. Like almost all KFT places I've been, the boba was slightly too mushy for my liking. Not terrible and better than having boba that's too hard, but it also isn't the best. The flavor of the boba is great though - has that sweet brown sugar flavor. Somehow when mixed with the oolong or black sesame it even tastes a little floral. The staff was super friendly. This was probably the least crowded and hectic KFT that I've been to, so everything was quick and of course, covid safe. Store was clean and pretty large compared to others I've been to. I can imagine parking being tough if you go during busy hours for the area, but I didn't have an issue at all. I haven't been to the gong cha in the area yet, but I'd like to compare. So i've been coming here with my sister ever since we found out it's only 10 minutes away from our house. We crave bubble tea every now and again so it's super convenient that it's close by. There's only street parking so it might be a little hard trying to find ones near the store. Inside the store are plenty of seating areas as well as a bathroom, so it's nice if you want to meet up and catch up with a friend or hang out. The tea itself are all brewed not powder so it's all natural; however this doesn't mean it' tastes good (LOL). Located right in the middle of downtown, its a quick stop to grab a Kung Fu Tea whether cold or hot; slushie or milk tea. I can't imagine the place being as busy as places in Flushings or other areas of New York as the population here isn't really reflective of the typical guest of Kung Fu Tea. But all in all, anyone who comes in with be able to enjoy some milk teas crafted to their sugar and ice levels. I would go with 75% or 50% sugar as they can get intense. Those that have never have Kung Fu Tea I would suggest trying it here. Quick in and out and you'll be able to enjoy your teas outside on the blocks or walking around window shopping or checking the local stores in all directions. Probably a bit generous in the rating, 3.5 is more fitting. There aren't many bubble tea shops in the area, probably why I gave a higher rating. I have come here every week for the past half year or year. The owners and employees are always friendly and they were cautious during COVID, all pluses. I have had the Taro Milk tea, various Yakult Yogurt teas, and other assorted milk teas or specials. All of them are decent and true to the Kung Fu brand. Now the negatives of this franchise: - More than 3 or 4 occasions in the past year they ran out of bubbles or had delays/troubles with machines. This is really unacceptable as this is one of their primary ingredients!! - Bubbles are never consistent in quality. If you have had Edison Kung Fu tea, you'll know why these are poor. They didn't sit long enough before being served. - Not enough bubbles. Less than other Kung Fu (I've been to Montclair and Edison ones) - Menu is slow to change. They've had Yakult for ordering in store for a long time, but it wasn't available on the app while other stores had it. - No DoorDash/UberEats. Thankfully the Montclair one does. What gives? Like the brand still, will continue to come until the Gong Cha opens in Millburn downtown. Then I'll need to re-evaluate. I will go out of my way to head to GSP or edison to get my fill of boba if I'm craving it, so when I started driving by my hood and saw that this one was opening I was THE most ecstatic! Millburn KFT has your typical KFT menu, with pictures around the room showcasing some of their teas. My go to: Green Tea no milk with regular sugar less ice + bubbles + nata jelly. Yummmmms. It's a very clean inside with some outdoor patio seating! There are bar stools for bar like seating and against the wall with small table seating. Parking in millburn is street side parking but usually you'll be able to find something closeby for a short walk! As of 8/19/2017: CASH ONLY but I'm assuming they'll rectify that shortly. Came here for my BOGO for national bubble tea day and I was very pleased about the promotion! I got 2 honey green teas and it was such a great decision! It was light and sweet, perfect for the spring weather! The only reason why I took stars off is because I came here with my roommate to this location. The BOGO didn't work for some reason on her phone when she scanned it, but the employees there didn't even make any effort to accommodate for the situation. They could've easily just made a drink and not charged her for it. I thought it was terrible customer service, as everyone was able to receive the promotion and she couldn't. The bubbles taste better, they always give you a bag for the order, get the order right and are never missing ingredients. If I get 3-4 teas, please give me a bag without me asking. I DO NOT recommend going to this branch and would drive the extra half hour to go to Edison. I understand that there is a pandemic, but the customer service and quality was not up to the standards of other branches. Disappointed and unsatisfied with this branch to say the least. We placed an online order 30 minutes prior to the indicated pick up time. We arrived 5 minutes before the pick up and our order was not ready. We understood that the order was not completed and waited. The line to order got longer and as it started to shorten, we noticed that got there before us already received their orders while we are still waiting. We were waiting outside and inside for 20 mins and the baristas did not even ask if there was anything they can help us with. When I brought up the situation, the manager quickly got order out and apologized. I appreciate the promptness to fix the problem, but the drink that I ordered was absolutely terrible. It tasted like someone threw up in my green tea strawberry lemonade. The branch in Edison made my drink A LOT better and felt as if the order I got was rushed and manipulated. The manager mentioned the reason why there was a delay was because they ran out of green tea. At least 5 people walked away a with an order of green tea and one of the other orders wasn't even green tea based. I hope they change for and train the employees better. read more

So happy that Kung Fu Tea has opened in Millburn. My first time in the store and I'm happy to report that this place is awesome. The proprietor greeted us warmly and made sure that we understood how the bubble tea flavors and sizes were set up. The store is still really new. Credit cards are up as of today. The app will be functional there by tomorrow. They were out of coconut as we arrived 29 minutes prior to closing. I got green tea with boba and no sugar. Next time I will get Sugar. Despite that the tea was nice and the boba provided sweetness. I will be coming back here again as I'm a bubble tea junkie. Super clean and friendly. I encourage you to check it out. I went to the Kung Fu Tea in Philly all the time and I'm SO glad this location opened up! This was my favorite place to go because they consistently had chewy, sweet boba. As others have mentioned, it's cash only for now and be prepared to possibly wait a bit in line. They were slightly understaffed when I stopped by with one girl running around making all the drinks but she did an awesome job :) It's not the best place to come with a huge group, but the seating is comfortable for a couple people.
