Loved this small ramen and bubble tea shop in town! Staff were friendly and seemed to welcome regulars warmly as well as newcomers. Their ramen is tasty overall and filled with lots of yummy ingredients. Their bubble was good, bubbles were the right consistency, not too chewy, not too hard. Wait time was about 20 minutes for 2 ramen bowls and 2 bubble teas. Portions are a little small but the price point wasn't bad, matched their portions. read more

So this restaurant has been in South Orange for several years and I ate there today and I must say that it has really fallen off. I ordered the chicken and shrimp and the chicken was overcooked really hard. The sauces barely filled half the containers. This takeout-only spot has a couple of sidelines in cheese steaks and burger-esque "mini buns" but the main focus is tea and poke bowls. I got the Typhoon sushi burrito, maybe too small to count as a meal but big in flavor. It stars tuna and salmon, and there's also WASABI AIOLI. I'm in my 50s and just now coming to terms with the fact that maybe I like fusion. I liked the coconut milk tea. I didn't get boba which in retrospect is a serious mistake for photo reasons. Perusing the poke menu, I see there are nine different sauces, with sour cream thyme sounding the most unusual. If you order the chicken poke I might unfriend you but I may try the scallops someday. read more

It used to be one of my favorite places to go. Now it is overpriced for the quality and quantity of the food that you recieve. The tuna used to be much higher quality and now its kind of dry and grainy. The service is always fair, that hasn't change. Been here a few times since they opened..it's an okay place if you want to get a quick boba fix. Their bubble milk tea is average. The customer service and food is lacking. I had their hot "chicken" sushi burrito. At first glance it looked really good but the taste was really bland. No flavor at all and there were only a couple cube pieces of "chicken" in there. Let me start by saying chipoba was one of my go to spots for a really long time. Unfortunately not sure when it happened or what happened but they've fallen off. For those who may have not been there to experience the downfall here's the gist. Store was renovated, all was great, soon after the prices jumped up. Like any establishment I can understand raising prices especially the after the Covid pandemic; What I don't understand is why the prices went up and the quality and portion sizes went down. We used to be able to get a filling, well sized and delicious sushi burrito for a decent price...not anymore. You pay more money for a smaller burrito with less ingredients and to top it off they even cut down the amount of spicy mayo they give you (Used to be two sauce cups, now it is 1 that is barely filled). The bubble tea has been consistent which is the only reason I ever stop by anymore. I won't even speak much on the ramen because it's not being done justice; Prepackaged noodles in a mediocre broth with veggies doesn't equal ramen :/ Like I said I get raising prices as an establishment especially after renovating the place but this is not the way to go about things. I'm sure many customers were lost for this sole reason. I really hope they read these reviews and make a much needed change to bring the true chipoba back and the day one customers like myself coming back weekly! read more

Food is amazing the workers are super friendly, only think I would change about the ramen broth is super salty. Perfect amount of noodles and broth. The buns and poke bowls are super delicious. I love how you get too choose what you want in your poke bowl. The boba teas are amazing. My favorite is the milk taro bubble tea. I think they need more chairs and tables inside. I know they can't fit allot in such a small space. I'm so happy there's a bubble/poke bowl place in town so now I don't have too go too nyc all the time too get it. Sad there closed on Sundays because allot of restaurants in south orange are closed. But if your in town defiantly stop by! read more

This is a a pretty cute spot. Currently, it's takeout only and the staff is very welcoming and efficient. My family and I went later in the evening so it wasn't fairly crowded. I gave it 3 stars because the passion fruit lemon tea was so delicious; however, the popcorn chicken was underwhelming. There's more breading than chicken and the flavor was non-existent. We didn't enjoy the dipping sauce that came with the meal. It was more tart/acidic than expected. Please note: The serving size is larger than what's pictured. I've been here a few times and the food has always been about 3 stars. This time I ordered what I always order, a sushi burrito and I had a very bad experience. The seaweed was completely untearable so it stayed in my mouth and I had to spit it out. When I told the owner she tried to say it was because it's damp from rice (of course!) - not that I would've taken it but she didn't even ask if she can replace it with something else. Updating to say they yet again LEFT OUT AN ENTIRE MEAL. They have never once gotten our order correct. When I called to have it corrected l, they said they would not be able deliver it to me!! They use a delivery service but she refused to have them bring the missing food. Being that I just had major surgery, there was no way for me to even get it. They also refused to make it up by giving us something extra to make it worth our while to have a friend som go and pick it up. They were not accommodating at all. I would not order from here again. They literally couldn't get an order right that was simply three meals. They also left out the sauces. The way they handled it was just completely unacceptable. She completely refused to have someone come delivery it to us. Spend your money elsewhere. Also poke bowls are 70% rice. read more

My friend brought me the food from this place. I got fried chicken, it still tasted good next day because I had too much food can't finish all. The chicken breast poke bowl is delicious also, you will be fully full if you finish the whole bowl. The squid salad is also amazing, it won't disappoint you if you try it. It's better than others I've tried at Japanese restaurant. I also order the passion fruit lemon with boba. It's not too sweet, and has some diced aloe in there. My boyfriend and I got takeout from here for the first time! We walked up to the window that is set up inside the restaurant and built our own sushi burrito and poke bowl. Ingredients were pretty good quality and overall super tasty! This was my first time having a sushi burrito and it was a little smaller than I expected, more along the lines of a thick sushi roll than a burrito, but it was very tasty nonetheless. The spicy mayo was recommended to us and it was definitely one of the spiciest spicy mayos I've ever had (and spicy mayo is number go-to sauce whenever I get sushi, poke, etc.). It was good, but not for the faint of heart. This is the closest poke spot to me, so I expect to come here the next time I have a craving! read more

Their food isn't great but the bubble tea was ok until a recent experience trying a different flavor. I ordered a lemon passion fruit and got about 15 or so lemon seeds in it. After a few attempts at enjoying the boba and chewing on bitter lemon seeds I tried to go back and ask for it to be fixed but I was yelled at a bit instead and told I should have specified that I didn't want lemon seeds.
