It's around $13 per banh mi which is a little higher than some places, but the quality and portion make it worth it 100%. I got the S1 and S8. The S1 was really good and something I would definitely order again. It's my husband's favorite. The S8 was the chicken and it came out warm with steam! A lot of other places make it but it's still cold. I also liked how fresh the ingredients taste. Service takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the order to come out just as a heads up. One Only small critique is the bread. While I like a crispy baguette, this one is a bit too crunchy and can cut the roof of your mouth a little. So don't gobble it down fast like I did. Parking can be a bit tricky given its location near a major road, but there is metered parking right out front. One thing I really appreciated was the thoughtful packaging. Instead of wrapping everything in paper/foil (which traps steam and softens the bread), they use takeaway containers that keep the banh mi bread crispy and intact. The portions are generous! I don't think I've ever had a bahn mi with so much protein! I personally asked for extra cilantro on some of the sandwiches which is why the cilantro looks so obnoxious in the pictures. Everything was solid and satisfying! The lemongrass chicken bahn mi stood out with its aromatic flavor. The Saigon special bahn mi though, could've used a bit more presence from the mayo and pate to enhance the flavors. Sounds weird, but surprisingly, the sardines in tomato sauce bahn mi was better than it sounds. It was savory and definitely worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. The summer rolls were fresh, clean, and a great complement to the sandwiches. My only note: I wish the pickled carrots and radish had a bit more tang. They leaned mild rather than punchy. I had a hard time with this menu because I am pregnant and most of the dishes contained either cold cuts or pate, neither of which I could have. That's not the restaurant's fault, but I wish I could've explored this menu a bit more, and this may have ended up influencing my rating a bit. I ended up ordering the Chay (Lemongrass Chicken Bánh Mì) and a Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was absolutely delicious and worth the visit. The Bánh Mì was decent, and was loaded with vegetables, which I appreciated. However, the chicken tasted more like chicken teriyaki and didn't have that fresh lemongrass taste that I love. The baguette was also a bit hard/flaky, maybe because it was toasted a bit too much. I'd love to return and try one of the more traditional Bánh Mì to give this place a second try. The service behind the counter was excellent, however our table was a bit dirty and we had to wipe it down before we sat. I am delighted with the food at Saigon Subs. The atmosphere is casual but the bahn MI and other vegetarian selections are world class. There are enough tables to handle those like myself who prefer to dine in instead of carryout. A few people told me that this rivals the best street food in Vietnamese city centers. The staff is also friendly and will explain items with which you may not be familiar. It is convenient to the Morristown train station that goes to Hoboken and Manhattan. I saw great reviews for this spot so I checked it out with my boyfriend at 3 pm on a Saturday - only a few other people in the place! Only maybe 3-4 small tables to sit at but like some others have said you can always walk and eat outside if no tables are open. Our sandwiches came out in about 15 minutes. I got the Chay, which had lemongrass tofu & my boyfriend got the Xiu Mai with vietnamese meatballs. The employee who took our order was friendly & was great when my boyfriend mentioned he had a peanut allergy! Our sandwiches were so good. Wow. The bahn mis here are probably one of the best in Central Jersey! We got the tofu banh mis and the pork belly banh mi. We also ordered taro bubble tea. Bubble tea could have been better as it had a powdery aftertaste. Other than that, everything else was delicious. The lemongrass tofu was marinated so well, and was very tasty! I ordered the Ga Nuong Xa sandwich, which featured chicken and an assortment of other fresh ingredients. I asked for no jalapeño, and my request was fulfilled. It was delicious! I'm not sure what the sauce is. I'm the sandwich, but it is phenomenal. One half and a side did the job for me. The side I chose was the shrimp summer rolls. The takeout box had two inside and a peanut dipping sauce that was very rich. The summer rolls are about 6 inches long with four medium sized shrimp inside. My first few bites were loaded with rice and lettuce but the shrimp portion was good. I would definitely come again for this chicken sandwich. The portions are super generous; we, three adults, struggled to finish three Banh Mis and an order of BBQ pork rolls -- we ended up taking an entire sandwich home. Both Banh Mi varieties we tried, the S1 and lemongrass chicken, were packed with flavor, with the S1 being especially tasty. This was my first time having boba that wasn't extremely sweet. Although there is a slight wait, I don't mind as I know my Bánh Mì is being prepared fresh. I ordered four different things to go to share later with my fiance. He absolutely loved all the meals I ordered. He enjoyed the spring rolls. Service was good. For the amount of food I ordered, there were made in reasonable time. The restaurant was clean. Since I was there midday on a weekday, it was empty so plenty of seating. It's not a big space.
