Watch out Pearland, Kung Fu Tea has just come to town. Fitting location to be in Pearland, since they serve "tapioca pearl" milk teas a plenty. It's nestled right in the heart of Pearland's town center, just across from H&M. What an awesome location for those who are not near Chinatown or their Yoakam Blvd (Montrose) location. Namely, those of us in SW Houston suburbia. It's exciting to hear that they are expanding into Sugar Land soon...however, this is not a bad drive in the meantime! Really nice interior with a lot of ethnic Chinese decor (gotta love the lions and the sea of red). This location is less sit down, study, and hog up the wifi for five hours, but more of get your drinks on your way to get your shopping on. This isn't a bad thing, especially when you know your wife has a long shopping list. I tried an item off their top ten drinks -the peach black tea, 50% sweet. We also got the taro milk tea. Yet we actually liked each others' drinks, so we switched and we both ended up happy. The taro milk tea just tasted like their regular milk tea, could have used more taro. We also ordered an oreo milk tea and a milk tea extra sweet for our relatives who were visiting in town. Everything was pretty solid. Service was friendly and they were really motivated to serve us well. We are definitely coming back to this location soon. read more

I've had two horrible experiences at this location. First, a coworker of mine and I went to get some drinks and unfortunately, one of the drinks tasted a little strange, so we asked if the drink could be altered or re-made and we were told that it couldn't be done. After asking for a manager, or a manager phone number, the employee wrote the number incorrectly so there was no way to contact the store manager. Another time, my friend was given a drink that was made incorrectly. Mind you that I've worked for Kung Fu Tea before, and I know exactly what goes in every drink. She ordered a HOT TARO MILK TEA. The cashier misheard and told another employee to make a MEDIUM TARO SLUSH. When she was called to pick up her drink, she realized the order was taken incorrectly. Upon asking the cashier, she responded with, "You didn't say hot, but okay, I'll just steam your slush." Excuse me, but what? The recipe for a hot taro milk tea is COMPLETELY different from a medium taro slush; steaming the slush will only melt and make the drink taste like powdered water. REMINDER: I HAVE WORKED FOR A KUNG FU TEA. Every employee who works at Kung Fu Tea knows this; they have to take a test before they are even allowed to begin making drinks. The only thing bad about this place is the parking situation. Parking here is hooooorrriiiiiible, but. Not really the establishments fault. The staff here is always so friendly and chill. There's no where really inside to hang out, all the couches are pretty much waiting couches. There's places to sit outside but- we in Texas so, you know that ain't ever an option. One time my brother stabbed his drink too aggressively and spilled it all over himself on the sidewalk. A staff member saw it and brought him a brand new one for free, along with a few napkins. So sweet, most people woulda just laughed at his dumbass from the inside. And Kung fu teas quality does not diminish just because it moved out to the suburbs! Yummy yummy! I like to stick to the more traditional one- milk teas, black teas, because the fruit punches and lychee punches are a tad too sweet for my tastes. But if you have a sweet tooth, go for it! The drinks are great and the service is fast and exceptional! The only thing I would like to change about this location is its ambience; it looks like the manager bought everything that was on sale in an antique store and just threw it in there. There are old-fashioned monkey tables, an antique chandelier, and awkward lights that are hanging from the cashier desk that completely throws off a "lively" vibe one gets from looking at the paint and seating. Also, there is so much stuff, such as a plant and some out-of-place decorative pieces, placed on the counter it seems cluttered, but I'm only here to review the food and service, not the atmosphere. It's very easy to make drink. What makes them different is the boba. The drinks are okay here but the boba is not chewy. But that is what you get at the midtown area. There are couple place in China town have better ones. I do like their swing chair though. read more

As a boba enthusiast, this Pearland Kung Fu Tea location meets my sky-high boba standards. I'm a frequent visitor to the Dallas locations, so I was very intrigued to try this one out--and I'm very glad I did. As you enter, you're greeted by the sound of a fish tank and a cashier behind the desk. My favorite drink is the winter melon tea (with boba, of course), which came out after about 5-7 minutes. This is a very small Kung Fu Tea location in Pearland Town Center but it comes through in a big way with its cozy ambience and rapidly efficient service. The staff is helpful in making recommendations and informing about new menu additions. I was recommended the Taro-Coconut Milk Tea on my first visit here a while back and I remember it being a rather unique bubble tea flavor back then so it ended up being a pleasant experience as the beverage delivered on the flavor front. I was brought back here this evening by the craving to sip on green tea while relaxing for a bit and ended up trying the Longan Jujube Tea, which is a very cool, breezy beverage with a smooth longan fruit flavor. I got regular tapioca (boba) added to my drink and as a bonus, I was also thrilled to discover actual longan fruit bits in my drink. While I sip on my tea, I feel very refreshed with each sip and highly recommend this drink to all as it is a smooth one that does not have a strong flavor or a high degree of sweetness. They have a brand new offering of this tea in Milk Tea form as well now, which I look forward to trying next time. The boba teas here has been good the two times we stopped here. The boba is soft and chewy and sweet. The menu selection is small, though, and they don't offer mung bean at this location. Also, the prices are higher than other locations: medium is $3.50 without add-ins and the medium is fairly small. $4.50 for a large without add-ins that is the usual size I can get at other places. read more

I love to walk around the mall with a cup of tea in my hand when I am shopping. I went to this place hoping it would be great. My wife both order and we saw the price, a medium cup it over 4 bucks and a large cost even more.and then the employee asked if we want tapioca we said yes and they told us it is 50 cents more for every topping. We were like wth, we just get each a medium drinks. Sorry to say but we are no poor or cheap people but we are not paying for things that are not worth it. Other tea house a medium size cup is barely 3 bucks and it is the same size as the large cup here at this place. And they are not charging for tapioca as an extra topping. Smh. I ordered from this place online through Ubereats, I'm not sure why but when I received my drink everything seemed fine at first. But for some reason I couldn't really get the boba. Turns out half of the boba they put in my drink was stuck together and impossible to drink through the straw. I mean the milk tea was delicious but the boba took off a few points. Try out this place many times and only 2 or three times are good. Comparing to other Kung Fu's locations, the drinks here literally have no taste although they are regular sugar. I saw kung fu tea in the Bellaire location but never tried it, so I was surprised to see it in the town center. Decided to give it a try and have been addicted ever since. They have the best milk teas I have ever had and I've had my share! The tapioca pearls are nice and tender. You don't have to feel like you're chewing rubber. So far, my favorite would have to be taro milk green tea with pudding! Only complaint, is that it can get cramped when they're busy but the service is pretty fast. read more

I like to sip tea but I must admit I did not want to play spectator to this type of tea. I have seen this particular location have lines outside the door so I always just bypassed it. Lucky for me on a Wednesday afternoon the coast was clear and I made it. When it comes to boba tea I usually stick to the milk teas and thai tea is always a staple for me but decided to go with something more fruity. I opted for the mango green tea as it sounded very refreshing and my sister went with the honey green tea. I must say that my choice was hands down the best. It came with jelly chunks and boba balls ( I am sure there are actual terms for these items). It was very refreshing and sweet with subtle mango flavors. My sisters was also very good. I definitely tasted the honey and the strong brew of green tea. Another thing that sets them apart is the excellent customer service. I came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend and although the girls working there were cute and friendly our drinks were superrr watered down. I'll give it 2 stars because the workers were helpful when we called for directions, but the drinks themselves do not compare to the other Kung fu tea locations in Houston. read more

Kung fu was offering BOGO at their grand opening and was a bit sad that I had to get the second drink exactly the same as the first. KF advertises its bubble cake as the famous hong kong street food known as egg waffle. The selling point of the egg waffle is crispy outside and fluffy inside. The presentation was not quite like the photo at all. The bubble cake got separated into individual pieces. The big mistake is they place the cake in the bag while it is still hot. So the cake didnt have chance to cool down and became soggy. I also noticed the inside of the cake was uncook***Hint the batter consists of raw egg***food posioning hazard. I kindly told the staff and he took it into the kitchen. He came out and told me that's how the store makes it. As far as the drink, I specifically ordered a taro milk tea and i was given a regular milk tea since the combo special only comes with regular milk tea. My husband ordered a Mango green tea that was supposed to come with Mango jelly. Guess there was no jelly in it. How can someone actually mess up all three items on one single order? Personally, I take any customer recommendations as a way for improvement, but this is not the case for Kung Fu Tea House Pearland location.
