Here in The Woodlands, a place that was once a no-boba zone, a rich suburb with very little international flavour, where the only tapioca drink you'd find for a long time was the atrocious powder stuff sold from a stand inside the Woodlands Mall, you can now get the real thing... from Kung Fu Tea anyway. I stopped pretending to be a turtle when ordering here. Otherwise it'd be Kowabunga Fu Tea. It's a spacious spot, with plenty of seating, typical minimalist KFT decor, games, friendly service, and the drinks that you come to expect from a KFT location. I have to give it 5 stars because in The Woodlands, it's a bit of a godsend, not least because the people around here are often depressingly godfearing. So I recommend giving our fave drink, the LBT, a try, as well as other fruit punches, and their Milk Tea is odd, but not bad. The Oolong Milk Tea also is worth trying. Stopped in for a quick pit stop for some late night Milk Tea and Kung Fu Tea as usual comes through! Sometimes I have issues with the drink being too watery, too sweet, but tonight it came out great. The tapioca was perfectly cooked and sweetened. The service was pretty quick and the store itself was clean and had some games to play if you wanted to sit down and hang out with friends. So...... we found out about Kung Fu Tea while watching a YouTube video which reviewed the best boba drinks around the world and when we looked to see which places were around us this was one of them and boy were we excited to try their brown sugar boba! I downloaded the app and was given a surprise $1 off. And when I pressed the send order button too early on said app I called and they were nice enough to ask when I was coming and remember to make my order then. Such sweet service! We ordered the Earl Grey milk tea WOW and cocoa cream WOW both with a milk cap. The brown sugar boba was everything we thought it would be and more! Warm, pillowy, sweet (well, 1/2 sweet since you can order different levels of sweetness here which is wonderful) and such a unique flavor. We had only ever had honey boba before which we love but this was a nice change. It makes the most lovely caramel colored swirl in your drink. I went whole hog getting the milk cap as well which was salty, rich and creamy and also something I had never had before and was happy I tried. I paid for the correct drink & the same guy who rung me up made my drink wrong once (put it under the counter bc it's not supposed to have milk), he proceeded to give me the wrong boba and I told him and he took back the drink ripped the top off and put the crystals over the boba. He sealed it then gave it back and i had to tell him there's not supposed to be ANY regular boba in it. He proceeded to rip the seal off and pick the wrong boba out. Stopped by this location a few times since their Grand Opening and has always been a great experience. I've been to quite a few Kung Fu Tea shops across America and this one is consistent as the other chains. Staff is also incredibly nice and attentive. It's nice to finally have an authentic Taiwanese bubble tea place in the Woodlands. Most bubble tea places i have came across in this area are made Vietnamese or Chinese style, which is not that good in my opinion. I've always loved the Taiwanese bubble tea for their perfect blend of tea & milk without having the weird milky aftertaste, and of course the honey sweet bubbles.
