Oh $hit! Keene, you don't know what you have. THE ONLY OMEKASE IN THE WHOLE STATE OF NH!!! You would have to go to Portland, ME or Boston, MA to come even close. The chef trained in Manhattan and it shows. How and why Keene NH become the lucky town to catch Chef Kevin boggles the mind. Manchester and Portsmouth are the typical towns you associate high end food. I almost don't want to write this review for fear of making it impossible to get in here. Don't let the the divey unassuming dining room fool you. This place could compete with the big boy sushi spots in NYC. All of this fish is imported from Japan and it's very fresh. Another guy at the bar told who lives nearby and was coming 3-4 times a week until his credit card told him to cut it out said all other sushi is $hit and now he's spoiled. Wish they had a place closer to me. For now I'll make the hr drive.

We were on a road trip and looking for a place to eat when we stumbled upon this place. Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted in such a warm and friendly fashion. It felt like we were visiting a friend we hadn't seen in a while. The host was also our waitress. The service was so attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very clean and simple. We ordered appetizers, and they arrived on the table piping hot. I love when food that is supposed to be hot actually arrived as if it just came off the pan or out of the oven. It felt as if it was made fresh for us in that moment. The sushi arrived later and tasted so light and fresh. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be a regular there. Another thing to note - we arrived around 2/230 pm. There was no wait, but as we were waiting for our meal, there were at least three groups of regulars that were also there for a late lunch. Our waitress knew their orders and maintained a friendly/positive/warm attitude for all of the patrons.

Kurama is a hidden gem and such a lucky find! We had a fantastic sushi experience here - the fish is fresh and tasty, miso soup generous, service friendly and flawless, and vibes relaxed and chic. We started with miso soups and the Crab Rangoon appetizer and all was excellent. The miso soup was packed full of tofu and seaweed and had a great flavor. The Rangoons were very generously packed full of cheese and crab and so lovely! Then we moved onto our sushi rolls. I got the Kurama Roll which had snow crab, cream cheese, avocado inside and masago outside and the roll is deep fried - guess I was in the mood for crab and cream cheese haha! It was absolutely fabulous! My hubby had the Ginza Roll which had spicy tuna and mango inside with salmon and avocado outside - delicious and everything was so fresh! Our server was positively delightful!! So friendly and all smiles and laughs - she just lit up the restaurant! Inside is a very relaxing ambiance and chic too - they have tables and booths and also bar seating. Prices are very decent for the quality and area. Location is excellent - just off the main downtown area in adorable Keene. We walked here from our hotel so I'm not sure about the parking.

Decent sushi place in Keene NH. Place is very simple and plain. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The rolls I ordered were very simple. I've ordered them at other places and they just were prepped a little differently but the taste was there so.

Bottom right is the Crazy tuna roll, so fresh and delicious

The service was great. Food was excellent and super fresh. 3 days later we're still thinking about it, craving more. Whenever we're in Keene again this is our go to. We are foodies and love trying new places. If you're not sure what to eat I recommend trying this restaurant you won't regret it.

I have been twice and it was great both times. The sushi is fresh and SO good, good size portions with great prices. The owner is so kind and attentive, I have had great conversations with her both times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very good service and atmosphere, I will be back more times than anyone can count![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you are in Keene this is one of the must stop in spots!

Lovely! Friendliest staff ever. So quick and caring. Miso soup was delicious and hit the spot. Had an eel avocado roll and a tuna roll. Both yum. Looking forward to coming back to try more!

Delicious!! Nicely buttered roll with so much lobster you have to eat some of it before you can even pick this roll up. And not just claws like some places this was all solid lobster meat. $30 with fries- wish we remembered to opt for the onion straws (next time). Lobster was tender and flavorful with not an over abundant amount of mayo just the tiniest bit to hold everything together and it was tender, flavorful, and overall delicious. Arnold Palmer wasn't powdered lemonade either, it was perfectly fresh and not overly sweet. Then shop at the Amazing food co-op next door. Looking forward to our next trip here. We walked up to a casual outdoor seating area with picnic tables set alongside the road, giving it the laid back atmosphere of a New England seafood shack where the focus is entirely on generous portions and classic seafood favorites rather than anything overly polished. The setup is simple and relaxed, making it an easy stop for a casual lunch or dinner during the warmer months. The lobster roll is the clear highlight here. The portion was surprisingly large for the price, packed generously and substantial enough to feel like a full meal on its own. The lobster was the star of the sandwich, and the overall value stood out given how expensive lobster rolls have become across Massachusetts. We also ordered the fish and chips, which came with an equally generous portion size, though the fish was a little drier than expected. While it was still satisfying, it lacked some of the moisture and flakiness that would have made it more memorable. What stands out most is the portion to price ratio. Nearly everything coming out of the kitchen is oversized, which helps explain why the restaurant has built such a strong reputation as a destination for seafood in the area. The food leans toward hearty and filling rather than refined, and the experience works best when you arrive hungry and ready for a substantial meal. Service moved efficiently despite the steady crowds, and the casual outdoor setting kept the experience relaxed. For anyone looking for a classic roadside seafood stop in Western Massachusetts, Captain Jack's delivers generous portions, solid seafood, and a lobster roll that easily justifies the visit.

This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

It was off-season in the area so many places haven't been busy. Luckily they asked if we were okay with the bar. Most definitely okay with the bar! We actually got pretty good attention when sitting at the bar. I ordered the Broiled Seafood Sampler because I like seafood and anytime I can get a variety in a dish, I'll go for that. The sampler consisted of haddock, salmon, scallops, and shrimp. The dish contained plenty of the fish and only two pieces each of the scallops and shrimp. The dish was not what I was expecting because of the crumb topping and creamy sauce. It was fine. We definitely got a good portion and the linguine with garlic and oil was fantastic! It was definitely garlicky, just the way I like it.

I was greeted by a very busy parking lot on that Saturday afternoon. Committed to waiting in line for my sweet treat, I was pleasantly surprised to see the crowds were massed around the take out window for food and not ice cream. Great for me but also made me wonder what I was missing out on. It would seem everyone was drawn to the seafood platters here which, had I had a hankering for, looked heaped with appetizing fried morsels. Alas, I diverted to the other set of windows. I was waited on right away after perusing the extensive list of flavors. I was hoping for Coffee Oreo but discovered they were out. Not to worry, they had plain 'ol coffee and I was on my way. A small serving was HUGE! I couldn't finish it all, even having worked up an appetite. The homemade ice cream was creamy and flavorful. Fairly standard though as ice cream goes but the ambiance and experience at the place maintains a higher star rating. Plenty of park benches and picnic tables sprinkle the property. Rolling fields and farmlands surround the establishment. Large parking lot. Ice cream, take out, dine in, and country store all available. I only experienced the ice cream so the rest will be left to my imagination. Fun stop post-hike.
