It's frustrating because to really get a great experience I would need to go to two or three other takeout places to get the best rice, the best General does and in this case the best Egg roles. The food here is absolutely wonderful! I had a combination plate of Cashew Chicken that came with fried rice and an egg roll. Served piping hot, very quickly (less than 10 minutes) and tastes really fresh. My husband had a combination plate of Sweet and Sour chicken, with veggie Lo Mein and an egg roll. The chicken wasn't what he expected - it was 8 huge pieces of what looks like chicken fingers with sweet and sour sauce on the side. But despite it not being what was expected, it tasted great. The food was fast, hot and fresh. It accomplishes what you want take out Chinese food to be, but does it even better. The service is fast and friendly, the food was ready right on time and the restaurant is clean and efficient at serving its customers. I have never eaten inside but they have seating available if needed. Looking for some fresh healthy veggies I ordered the vegetable Chow Mein with Tofu. It was cooked perfectly! The veggies had a nice bite as they were cooked but crisp and not over cooked. The flavor and sauce packed a punch but was not overly salty or heavy. I got it to go and it seems this is the go to take out place as there are really only 2 small tables and they appear as though they are for waiting/pickup. I also got an order of the crab rangoons to go and they were hot, crispy, full of filling and tasty! I've gone twice now and know there are many more dishes I am looking forward to trying. Great portions, good hot and sour soup . The young lady that served us was very responsive and kind. If you want to hit the Keno number while dining take advantage of the mad amusement. A few tables, and food is served in takeout containers and paper plates. Restrooms are not advertised, but they were kind enough to let us use them. Functional, but... I was craving Asian food when I was in Keene. And there aren't many restaurants that have decent vegetarian entree on their menu in Keene. This was a great find. I ordered some Chinese takeout from China Wok recently. China Wok is located close to the downtown area, across the street from the courthouse. The place is order at the counter with an open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. They offer a standard Chinese menu including 43 Lunch Specials ($5.50-$6.95) served daily until 3PM, 22 Dinner Combinations ($8.25-$10.75), and 15 Student Dishes (ID req'd). They also have special dishes such as Crispy Duck, Mongolian Beef, Pad Thai, Happy Family, and Curry Pot Delight. The food is cooked with vegetable oil and no MSG! Chopsticks available too. I ordered Lunch Combo 3 ($6 with tax): Roast Pork Lo Mein served with Pork Fried Rice and Egg Roll. The food was prepared by two guys donning their caps on backwards (that's how I roll y'all, too) and ready in under 10 minutes. The portion of food was generous and pretty decent. The pork fried rice (light brown color) had chunks roast pork with few fat pieces and very minimal egg, already made ahead of time and scooped from a big pot. The egg roll had a thick wrapper stuffed with minced cabbage and pork. The lo mein had lean roast pork strips, cabbage, carrot, and water chestnut slices tossed with firm noodles. I love GOOD Chinese food. This isn't it. I made a delivery order. I got an order of crab rangoon, 2 cans of Diet Pepsi, and a lunch special. The crab rangoons were not cooked enough. They were limp and should be nice and crispy around the edges. They were also just about cold. I only live 3 blocks from the restaurant. The fried rice was awful...no taste at all. They brought me 2 cans of Regular Pepsi and not Diet. This was over a month ago and I don't remember what the meat was in the lunch special. I'm not familiar with New Hampshire, but was in the area with a friend and dying for food. While the restaurant front is tiny, and there is little seating, I was amazed at the meal I got. For $7.95, I got three chicken fingers, three crab rangoons, an egg roll and about 4-5 cups of pork fried rice. My meal was so large I couldn't even finish it, and it was VERY good. The other reviewers are correct in saying that the price isn't cheap, but the portions are quite generous (I can get two meals out of one entree) and the quality has been consistent for the past two years I've been going here.
