It's definitely wonderful great to have a chinese food place in Marlborough. I have enjoyed its' convenience since it opened when I was a kid. I don't go very often now as I don't life in town, but our most recent trip was fantastic. I got the terikyaki chicken and it came with a salad and miso soup. It was a lot of food at a good price. I was thrilled. I also got the Zombie which was a good stiff drink! - and probably the first time I'd ever ordered a drink there. Would probably do again. Got what I paid for. However, the best thing that happened on. our last trip was that my husband, who is Indian, noticed an item on the menu called Indian Mei Goreng. He had grown up eating a dish like it and been looking for it in the US and after a decade plus this was the first time he found it. So that was a win. Great food. In restaurant service has been great the past few times and I've always loved that the restaurant was in a house. It's cute. They have plenty of parking. There have been some holidays where take out was very very delayed. But no bad experiences on any normal day. read more

This is more a composite of a number of visits to Mt Fuji rather than just one visit. Here are some thoughts in order of importance: 1) eat in one of the 3 booths as you enter. Other dining areas you sit way to close to others and there is no background music to give your conversation cover. 2) Order a martini. They are huge and cheap. Great value. 3) if you eat at sushi bar they give you an amuse bouche. Not sure about other dining areas. Sushi is good. read more

Although there are mixed reviews, it is hard to understand the differences with the dining experiences. Over the past 20 years Lee's has been bringing an American skewed "chinese" food cuisine to the greater Keene area. They were a place that my family would drive (30 minutes) just to have dinner. The owners have always been kind and inviting. The house atmosphere is a bit odd at first but it doesn't affect the service or quality. I have never enjoyed sushi nor any authentic Chinese/Japanese cuisine. But I am a typical American who loves all the fried items, mixed fried rice, and the variety of meats. They provide large portions of food with consistency. We have never had the food delivered and cannot comment on the timing or quality of the deliveries. Finally, this is the home of the best crab rangoons I have ever tasted. They are plump, full of filling, and crispy. Dip in some duck sauce and enjoy! Just be careful as the filling will pour out the sides during your bite! read more

We had started trying them out again after quality seemed to go down hill a few years ago. Things were ok for a bit. Picked up our order and it was missing part of the dinner. Honest mistake and I hadn't left the lot yet. Went back in and they corrected the order. Glanced at it and looked ok this time. Got home and found we were missing a key part of the meal. It's far enough away where if I went back the original part would be cold. I called them and they just said sorry. That's it. Very disappointed and won't be going back. read more

What a gem! Decided to avoid downtown Keene on a local trip and headed to Marlborough for this restaurant which purportedly had good sushi. It turns out, it was WELL worth it. I ordered miso soup, a tuna roll, California Roll, and the City roll. The sushi came out very rapidly and was fresh and quite tasty. Upon being seated, you are greeted with a bowl of fried wonton strips and plum sauce. Service was polite, pleasant, and efficient. I would go back again. read more

Lee's & Mt Fuji is kind of a confusing restaurant. It lies outside of the Keene city limits in Marlborough, NH. If you don't know its there, you will probably miss it. This is located in a residential area. Its a house that has been converted into a restaurant. There is a generous amount of parking in the rear and most people seem to enter through the back door. Lee's served both Japanese and Chinese cuisine. This is usually a recipe that doesn't breed success when it comes to businesses. The lack of focus on one style seems to lower of food overall. This is the case for Lee's. Their menu is extensive, but it seems to be quantity over quality. It took us quite a while to decide what we wanted with the amount of choices we had. The results and food quality were not very good. My wife ended up getting sick after she had her appetizer. The sushi quality was very unimpressive, especially for having a dedicated sushi bar. Worst Chinese food I ever had! Chicken fingers were burnt and chicken inside was dry and crunchy. Crab ragoons were also burnt. Boneless ribs are usually red with the red sauce they use and they were all brown like they forgot the sauce. Very disappointed. read more

This is a perfectly adequate place serving Chinese and Japanese cuisine, which far exceeded our low expectations based on the sort of Chinese cuisine we usually encounter while traveling through largely Anglo rural towns and small cities. We only wanted a snack after a hike, because it was going to be awhile until we'd be ready to cook dinner. I had the dry shredded crispy beef which was quite good. It's the best sushi and Chinese in the area! Too bad the area is southeastern New Hampshire. Honestly, the food here is okay. It's certainly not bad or cheap take out quality. The fish in the sushi was decently fresh. But as Japanese/Chinese food goes it's pretty crappy---and I'm using the rural New England standard, not the fishing port in Southern China standard. Had the Steamed Vegetarian Delight with white rice and a pot of Green Tea. The dish was perfectly steamed and generous with a good variety of vegetables. I loved my pictured, oriental tea cup and the small oriental tea pot which was perfectly sized with enough tea to complete my meal. I really enjoyed the complimentary orange and pineapple pieces for clearing the palate. All-in-all, a very pleasant experience, friendly service with a clean and quiet ambience. Best Asian food in the area? Yes, I agree with Sandy B. I have been eating here since they opened (probably over 10 years ago). They have an excellent menu and very large portions (personally I think you get more with take-out than you do when you eat in). They have another location in Peterborough that is alswo very good (slightly different menu). The sushi is excellent. On par with what you may expect at some big city place. If you eat in, get the scorpion bown (a must). For take out, I suggest the D1-pork (lo mein) or the D17 (combo). Very good. read more

I have always loved this place. Annie and crew are awesome! Great service and food located in pretty much nowhere. Better than any other asain offerings in the area (keene/Peterborough) and they do have a more upscale version in Peterborough as well. Sure you can't beat it in Putney either! Or Brat for that matter. Sure the decor may need an update but this is easily overcome by the portions of food( I agree take-out seems larger) and frinedly service. Try some of the chef's rolls, start with some spicy thai peanut dumplings. read more

This is the best Asian food in the area. I have been eating here for a very long time, and must say that I am never disappointed with any of the food I eat. I have even tried foods that I would normal not eat, and have found them to be very tasty! If there is a dish you really like, but maybe but want to try a different twist to it, the staff are ready to serve you that dish....Try the Hunan Vegetables..they are Awesome! Lee and Mt. Fuji hosted my father's 80th birthday celebration. We had family come from as far away as Washington State. They have all raved about how delicious the food was and how great the service had been. Exceptionally good for a rural Chinese resto. The Chow Fun noodles are pretty close to Chinatown Boston quality, which is astonishing as they are usually (out in the provinces) gelatinous and stuck together. Nicely done with egg drop, which is also often left out.The green beans in garlic sauce was also exceptional. Very good hot and sour soup. New to the area. Late night eater. Could not find a place open on Thursday night at 9:30pm. Drove past this place and thought to stop in and see if they were still serving. And they were, and we were so happy. Place was fairly empty so the service was quick. Loved the Chicken Katsu, my favorite and great to find a place that serves it and serves it well. Husband had pineapple and shrimp fried rice. He got a huge bowl, which made him very happy. We both had tasty left-overs for the next day. So happy that this place was open late for those of us who do not go to bed when the sun goes down. Great meals, nice friendly staff and quick service. read more

How Lee's and Mt Fuji is pulling four stars is beyond me. The food is mediocre at best and because they are so inconsistent you are not even guaranteed mediocre. Having just moved to town from an area where there was good, fresh and flavorful Chinese/Japanese food I can tell you for certain that this is none of those. We have eaten here about four or five times, we gave the menu a good shot, from the Pu Pu Plater, to Thai to Sushi. Twice I order from the Chef's special section; Peking duck and Tangerine Beef. Both times I sat and waited while everyone else was served, ate their dinner and started to tapped their fingers. Ultimately I had to get them both to go. Both times, no apology and no discount. The steamed dumplings are a small balls of under flavored meat with a thick, gross, pasty dough three times as thick as needed. You ended up pealing all of the dough off and eating the filling. They same with the fried chicken fingers, four times more dough than needed, soft, soggy and a taste of grease that should have been change weeks ago. My wife always orders the Pad Thai. the last time she Brough it home we ended up throwing out and we made grilled cheese and tomato soup. That was the last straw. There were a few times that I ate something and was like; that was decent only to try it again later and have it be, well, no where near as good. That is how they trick you. If you have better options then absolutely skip this place. There is little here worth eating and a small chance that you will pick it off the menu on any given day anyway. read more

I went to this place because of all the great reviews but I am not sure if they were concocted. We were the only table there for lunch....a bit strange. Usually if a restaurant is empty during a prime eating time (12-2pm) (5-8pm) that makes me nervous. Other factors that made me wary: 1. unclean - the carpet, windows, general dustiness, wait staff came to take our order with batter-dried hands......................... 2. I came in wanting sushi but I immediately switched to get something COOKED because I got so nervous but didnt want to be rude and leave 3. The fortune cookies at the end of the meal were "unfortunate" - they were OLD and barely could break apart into two. 4. I will say the shrimp tempura was warm - a good sign, as they were likely just cooked. There are other places to eat - still not seeing what all the rave reviews are about but maybe my standards for basic restaurant cleanliness and freshness are different. This place is better than their location in Peterborough i will start by saying that. It is awkward here, it is so many layers of awkward that you need to teeter on the point of alcohol poisoning to be able to get comfortable. This is set up like a house, like an old colonial house, something out of Django Unchained. There is a myriad of portly white and Chinese 'young adults' that work here that will stare at you for a godly amount of time. You will feel weird talking, sitting, drinking, eating, leaving.... so that covers most of the bases for that. The food is decent above average but again, like Peterborough they are trying to bite off more than they can chew and leave you with some dishes that are more another culture than the one you ordered. Thai, Japanese, Chinese, sure why not Italian to, reinforcing the old stereotype that all "asian" food is basically the same. ehh not so much. they would be better suited to drop the Thai angel Probably best for their crab Rangoon although i feel like they are a painful level of filling, and sushi. Many visits and a few years later we went for a farewell bowl of lahksa for this year. Once again it was Malaysian comfort food sublime. We live very nearby but we don't stop in that often because of the two pound penalty. We can't stop ourselves from gorging so the only defense is abstinence. The food that Annie makes on order from her secret menu is stunning. It has the kind of depth of flavor that authentic peranakan food has. She makes her own sambal by hand grinding and pounding the spices and it has a totally unique flavor. Absolutely the best and I have tried many kinds of sambal. We always take some to California with us to keep us happy till we can come back to the live free or die place! read more

I have to say that my walk from the car into Lee was a little wetter than I would have liked, as it was raining lightly when I arrived. Fortunately, I felt dry and happy the second I stepped into this wonderful little diamond in the rough! My group was immediately greeted by a welcoming host and led to a secluded tabled with a convenient view of most of the restaurant. I quickly dove headfirst into everything Lee had to offer: Quickly sucking my zombie drink down while chomping crab rangoon. The General Tsao had me feeling full and content like a true Emporer!
