I have had a full body massage, a full facial and a back facial completed here. Their website is great for looking up all their services, prices and hours. You must call to schedule an appointment. Once you arrive, you fill out a form about your health and skin. Then wait for your student to come and call your name. Then, the two of you will go over your health screen, allergies and concerns. They take you back to the main room. Massages are done on one side of the hallway, and esthetician services are done on the other. No matter the service you get done, you are taken to a "room" which is just divided by curtains on all sides. Everyone speaks in low volume, as to not disturb the other customers. The student will take you to your "room" and explain what will happen. Then, they leave and give you privacy to undress, as needed for the service. After the service is complete, and you redress, the student walks you back out to the lobby. You are encouraged to give them constructive feedback that will help in their education. If you don't feel comfortable telling them directly, there is a written survey you can fill out. Tips are not required, but if you do want to tip, it must be done in cash directly to the student.

Even if you aren't a regular facial-type-of-person, you should come to get set on a good at-home product routine that fits your skin type. Melissa can help with that. She has years of experience being an esthetician and worked at a dermatologist office for a long time. She therefore knows skin all the way through, and not just topically. She's also traveled across the country teaching others how to use lasers. I truly appreciated soaking in knowledge from her throughout our appointment and asking all of my skincare questions. The brands she uses for facials and recommends to clients are the same ones that both my dermatologist and a desired celeb esthetician that I've followed for years uses on all of the stars. This is what initially drew me to Uesthetics because those are really the only type of products I want on my face. I knew that anything from these lines would be amazing on my skin and was excited to be able to get such a quality facial. She uses iS Clinical, Elta MD, Alastin (all scientifically recommended and very effective). I had a free, 30-minute virtual consultation beforehand so Melissa could walk me through a good routine for my skin and see how she could help. (Initial consultations are always free!). She didn't try to sell a single thing and it was SO helpful because I found out that I was using some products that weren't doing anything for my skin, which I've now dropped from my routine. Afterwards, I booked my first appointment and put in the form that I wasn't sure which facial to choose, but wanted her to recommend one once she saw my skin in person. We ended up doing microdermabrasion, which uses a suction to remove clogged pores, remove hair on your face and get rid of dead skin cells. It's exfoliating, which helps prevent acne, helps makeup go on easier, and makes your skin brighter. She then did a calming face mask to fill my skin with moisture and eliminate redness. My skin immediately looked brighter, plumper and felt tighter. I felt like I could really let go all of the stress and just exhale. I booked my massage with Anthony, the co-owner of Broad Ripple Massage & Wellness. I chose him because he has experience with Thai massage, which my body really responds to. The massage with Anthony was wonderful. He incorporated some elements of Thai massage and stretching, but also lots of Swedish massage strokes and deep-tissue work which targeted some of my most tense muscles. I loved that he focused a lot on my jaw muscles and head/neck area, which just so happens to be where I carry a lot of tension. After my massage, I was fully relaxed and dazed, as one should be after a great massage. Afterward, Anthony told me that I also carry a lot of tension in my chest, and gave me some tips on how to stretch those muscles by stretching out my shoulders and arms. I love walking away with more knowledge on how to take care of myself! Broad Ripple Massage offers massages, but they also offer float therapy, which is a type of sensory deprivation that places you in a room with a shallow pool of salt water that makes you buoyant. And you float, in the dark and without sound, and eventually you fall asleep and your muscles and mind relax. I have never tried float therapy, but I think I am going to take the plunge (so to speak) soon, and my first time will definitely be at Broad Ripple Massage, because they have a nice setup. Broad Ripple Massage is located just off Broad Ripple Avenue, behind the Ascension St. Vincent medical offices.
