I did a course of Invisalign at Collins Dental and it was... okay…read more The Pros: - Everyone at the office is friendly and welcoming - They have freshly baked cookies every day - Dr. Collins is professional and knowledgeable - I *mostly* got my teeth straightened The Cons: - They are very hands off; I saw them a total of once during my actual treatment (halfway through). In fairness, I was told I could call in at any time. - My first real problem started when I finished my treatment. They had a trainee scan my teeth for the permanent retainer, who spent 15 mins waving the wand around in my mouth. The trainee was being monitored, but after all that work, something that important should have been done directly by a dentist. Additionally, the attachments weren't removed first, which meant they were digitally removed later, this could also be part of why I had trouble later. - My retainers ended up being very tight and painful to wear. I made a follow-up appointment and several calls regarding them, and was told they are fine and that Vivera retainers take 'some getting used to.' However, I then began to develop staining on my front teeth and tooth sensitivity, which I've never had in my life. I made another call and was told in order to be helped, I had to make an appointment for a cleaning (not included in my plan), so that they can polish off the stains and examine my teeth. - The cleaning ended up costing $500, I was upsold a ~$70 electric toothbrush which I was told would help with staining (it did not). I was also told that cleaning my retainers with dish soap was the cause of the problem, so I started using retainer tablets instead, but the stains returned shortly after. - I realized the retainers WERE the issue, and told them I want to get rescanned for new ones. I was charged an additional $320 for them*, and had to toss out the old set. However, due to the pain, I'd stopped wearing the retainers as consistently, and my teeth had shifted. *(Again, being fully fair, they agreed to refund me $290 for my first set of retainers, but ended up just wiping out a $250 balance for my cleaning. Letting me absorb the $40 difference) - I then asked if I had any refinement trays included to fix the shifting, but was told my case had expired. - I found out the office had elected to use Invisalign Go (a lite version that expires a year after its start, despite the fact my invoice says 'Invisalign - Regular Case'). The standard Invisalign version expires after five years. For the curious, I was charged $5400 for a short 6 month treatment plan and 12 trays (Online estimates how that Invisalign Go should cost $3k-$4k, and that it cost the office ~$1k to purchase them). However, even that limited plan should have left me plenty of time to get my refinement ordered. Except: My initial complaints about the retainer, staining, sensitivity, and discomfort were waved away for months. When I finally requested a rescan for new retainers, I was not told my teeth had shifted, though it should have been clear to them they had. I requested my scans months before my expiration to verify what I was seeing, but was repeatedly told the scans are 'too difficult to send.' When I finally got them in March (after pushing) I could clearly see they had shifted. But my case had expired in January. The reason I chose this office was because it was $500 dollars cheaper than an orthodontist's quote I received. However, the orthodontist offered a comprehensive plan of Invisalign & 1 free set of retainers, and I'm certain I would not have had the issues I did with staining and tooth sensitivity had I gone there. On top of that, I ended up paying an additional (~$600 for retainers, $500 for a cleaning, and another $70 for a toothbrush), essentially making this option more expensive. And at the end of it, my teeth aren't fully straight, which was the whole point of doing this. I still quite like Dr. Collins and the office, but I'm not exactly happy, so three stars. *Edit: was provided a $1260 refund for inconveniences suffered.

I had paperwork to fill out. I the office provided complimentary drinks in the lobby. After my paperwork work was completed I was able to go to the back to get a full scan of my mouth. It was in 3D with color. I was a bit skeptical because of my experience at sage dental but they said not to worry. After going over some of my goals for my smile I felt so relaxed. The dentist understood everything and answered all of my questions. After that I got to relax and watch my show on Netflix because they had TVs mounted on the ceiling while you get your cleaning done. Now the cleaning was such a peaceful moment. She cleaned my teeth with so much care. There were three flavors of toothpaste for the cleaning. I got to try the cinnamon and one other. I would caution anyone that would like to become a patient to please spend the extra time looking at these for a clearer picture of the practice. Our child became a patient based on the recommendation of our family dentist. That's all the research we did. The sales process was fine; informative; and, full of disclaimers and limitations that we didn't understand; but, nonetheless expected. And, the price was in line with our expectations. Our child's teeth were a mess, with more than a few missing adult teeth; baby teeth that would not come out; an overbite; and, the like. Through it all, we endured endless waits, rushed services, beratings from the doctor, late times, extended times; and, form after form to sign up for more services, such as whitening, retainer insurance and the like, which we never did. Worst of all, we received conflicting information regarding "the plan" and many times from the same doctor that had provided the update the visit prior. We were not told why certain things were recommended or not. And, we eventually had to make an appointment with an oral surgeon to finally get the full picture. Our child's teeth are straighter; and, are in retainers. We have only 1 more retainer set that the practice is under contract to deliver to us. At this point, we are going to transfer to another orthodontist and will simply pay for the retainers needed over the next few years. The implants are coming; and, that's going to be up to 10 times more than the braces ever were, so we are preparing for that. If we'd been treated with as much empathy and respect during the services as we had received during the sales process, this would have been a 5-star review. Almost all of the employees are great; but, the turnover is immense. It's the professional staff; and, the turnover with doctors that have frustrated us. Also, the long waits before and during treatments served only as major irritants.

Terrible from start to finish…read more Before my first appointment, the office was shut down for 2-3 weeks I believe something major happened. Almost like the board demanded shut down due to an issue that may have occurred. Boy do I wish I had took this as a sign. When my first issue with the office occurred, I sent a text to their portal stating something along the lines of "I see why they shut you guys down, they should do it again" EDNA, then called me literally yelling. I'm not even exaggerating when I say this woman was yelling at me for saying that comment and then threatened me with "I CAN HAVE THE DOCTOR DISMISS YOU AND YOU'LL ONLY GET 20% OF YOUR PAYMENT BACK" Being that I had my braces on for 3 months at the time and paid them in full, I was in NO position in getting "dismissed" so I had to play the part well and apologize which is INSANE lol Fast forward to my 2nd last visit, I flew out from tx since I no longer live in FL. This visit was to do a scan for the removal/retainers.. The scanner didn't work lol can't make this up. No sorry, no empathy, nothing!! CAROLINA stated "well it's not working what would you like me to do?" In her very monotone way. I then asked to speak to the doctor because I paid $300 specifically to make it to this appointment and he got argumentative. He was laughing sarcastically and not allowing me to speak Till I finally said "allow me to speak, I'm The one who flew out here just for you guys not to be able to do absolutely anything other than reschedule me" After I left, I asked them to release me since I no longer live in FL and found a much better doctor that was willing to remove the braces and complete the work, only if Dr.lach provided a letter of approval. She then bribed me by offering the teeth polishing for free in lieu of a good review. They ended up telling me they don't recommend I do the teeth polishing on the DAY OF but still gave me the options to do it if I wanted to. And you know what, I honestly was going to give them some grace and leave a better review and not share as much of the negative but then during my last visit (YESTERDAY 9/16/25) For some reason I was not scheduled for the teeth polishing. After waiting 40 minutes I asked the receptionist how much longer so he went to check with Brad and BRAD responded "idk, Edna scheduled her not me" He said it in a way as if I was such a bother and loud enough for Me to hear it. That was the last straw for me. I stood quiet and calm which I'm typically not the type to do so. He's very passive aggressive. I knew I no longer had to deal with any of them going forward. I went to pick up my retainers and had a disappointing experience. First off, this happened over a month ago, so things may have changed. They have you call from outside to get your temperature checked, and make sure you're wearing a mask prior to entering. There is spacing of lobby chairs to help maintain a safe distance- which is really great during COVID times. What was unfortunate was hearing a patient talking to the staff member at the front desk, whose was wearing her mask under her nose, and complaining about "Dr." Fauci and the fact that COVID deaths were being over-reported for doctors and hospitals to get more money. This went on and on as I looked at others sitting in the waiting room and we all shook our heads. Why have us go through the motions when you won't wear your mask properly and are going to be very vocal about how it's not a real thing?
