Our first visit was a few weeks ago, right before closing, and they were so gracious -- they let us finish our meal while they were cleaning the restaurant, and never made us feel rushed. We ordered the pork adobo, lechon, and pinakbet, and damn, that food was GOOD! The only other places where I've had Filipino food this delicious were in LA or Jersey/NYC. My fiancé is Filipino and he gave it his full stamp of approval, which says a lot! Please support this business -- the owner is as sweet as can be. She was so gracious to us, and we ended up chatting with her for about 30 minutes. We genuinely enjoyed her company. We sat in the car searching for another food spot when a man walked up to us (we thought it's the last customer coming out with to go food). We asked him if it's truly sold out, he said yes and handed us his food. We tried to turning him down, we didn't want to take his food. He was very insistent and then finally came out as the owner of the restaurant. He said, here have the food, we offered to pay but he couldn't take payments since his system has been closed. He even walked back inside the restaurant and gave us rice to go. We didn't get to see and taste all of their food, but the chicken adobo, humba, lumpia, pork sausage and monggo that he gave was delicious!! We went back to the hotel and gobbled the food. Now I know why the food was delicious, because the owner has a big heart. It reflects on the food that he serves. He definitely gained new loyal customer with his welcoming attitude. He didn't have to give us food, he could've just simply told us to come back the next day, but he didn't. Filipino hospitality was on full display through the owner. Sometimes when I drive by, it's closed, so I don't know exactly when the hours are. But I just call ahead to order and I've never had an issue with timing. Also, I wouldn't recommend eating there without headphones bc it's right by the interstate... but it's easy to just call ahead and do take out... otherwise, it's very loud and cars are constantly driving by. Sometimes when I'm waiting in school pickup line, I make an order and it's ready by the time I leave the car line!! Talk about convenience! Bottom line, this truck is another example of a local small business trying to make it! Please go check them out and help support them! They adjusted check accordingly and got us another dessert but it was way too many things happening already. I appreciate Jacob de manager who came to talk to us directly that was very professional, but definitely an opportunity to improve for next time. Dining out is an experience, and all details should come together to enhance the flavors in the palate, service, ambience and taste.
