I love my "girl time" at Studio Mac and chatting with the ladies - Katelyn and her mother Cathy are inspirational and run their business so professionally. I love the team dynamic experienced between everyone that works there - they are always willing to lend each other a hand or foil when needed (Thanks Sabrina and Rebecca!) Katelyn did my hair and makeup for my wedding and her airbrush technique held up beautifully while still looking natural for my August wedding. I asked for a color and a cut and did not expect to be helped since they were busy. But to my pleasant surprise, the fit me in. I never felt rushed. I had really terrible, grown-out highlights from a different hair salon and wanted to somehow fix them. The owner of Trendsetters (Nancy, I think) worked her magic. I now have a gorgeous dark red which turned out better than I had expected or hoped for. She gave my hair a trim and really gave it a wonderful shape. Shalynne gave me the fastest blowout I have ever had (I have long thick curly hair) and it lasted stick straight for days without having to use a hot iron. After finding Timothy Richard's on Yelp I called them up. They were extremely nice and accommodating, set the appointment and allowed me to pre pay for everything. All my sister had to do was show up. She said her stylist Marcy, was really cool and helped her decide on a hairstyle that would work for her lifestyle as a busy mom with three kids. She didn't feel pressured to buy anything unnecessary, and just all around enjoyed the experience. She said she would definitely go back, and even my mother is going to make an appointment for herself! The prices seemed extremely fair, but I am going by Chicago standards after all, where I easily pay double for the same thing. When I came here, this place had a wait for those that made reservations online but when I showed up there were only a few people that were ahead of me.
