I hired Tara's Beauty Studio for my wedding hair after having a great experience getting my hair done as a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding with Andrea. First off, Tara was great at organizing and explaining the process and pricing via email and sending out my contract asap. I then scheduled my trial appointment at the salon, which went amazingly! My stylist was Marie, who was so sweet and listened to all of my wishes and concerns about my wedding day look. She seriously is a hair magician- my hair is not easy to work with (very fine, slippery, but a LOT of hair), and she totally crushed it. I was particularly anxious about choosing a vendor for wedding hair and makeup, because I don't typically wear much makeup and I've never asked a professional to style with my natural curls before. But Tara's Beauty Studio knocked it out of the park. I had a big group getting both hair and makeup done, and Tara's team was an oiled machine, sticking to the schedule while still having time to laugh, chat, and listen to our requests/opinions! They made the best of a mediocre lighting situation on our cloudy morning and we were all thrilled with how our looks turned out. Tara was so helpful throughout the planning process and even set me up with an appointment for a spray tan in her studio before the big day. She was flexible and communicative and all of my girls that got makeup done with her looked stunning. She was even able to finagle the schedule at the last minute to add one more service and I am eternally grateful for that! Andrew did my makeup and did an incredible job of keeping my natural freckles while also making me feel stunning! She was receptive to my thoughts after the trial (more shimmer!) and highlighted my features in a way that looked incredible but also made me feel like myself while I walked down the aisle. Not to mention my makeup was still going strong at our after party! Marie and Jenn were our incredible hairstylists, and both created looks that lasted all night on all of our girls and into the next day for some! Marie did my hair and I cannot say enough good things about how she listened to my desires for my natural curls at my trial and made my dreams come true. My curly updo lasted through hours of dancing (and sweat!) and even still looked great the next day--it was incredible! Tara and Nicole from Tara's Beauty studio did the hair and makeup for my wedding. They were great to work with from the beginning and were quick to respond to questions. Both of them are incredibly friendly and nice. Prices are reasonable and they are flexible with appointment times for trials. The morning of the wedding, they were fun, upbeat and professional all at the same time - getting us ready with plenty of time to spare! (They traveled to us which was a huge help!) We all loved our hair and makeup - and it looked great the entire day and night (even though it was 90+ degrees outside!). I have been going Tara's Beauty studio for a few years and always walk away excited to show off my hair. It was my first time working with Andrea and I'm obsessed with my hair. It is one of the first times I've gotten multiple colored highlights/ombre to my hair and she was able to execute exactly was imagining. I cannot say enough wonderful words about Tara's Beauty Studio. My daughter was getting married and I decided to get my makeup professionally done. I came across Tara's online and decided to give it a try. From the initial phone call to meeting in person, Tara was very helpful, warm, and friendly. I wanted a spray tan and found out that they do them there too. I am very pale and the color looked so natural and was perfectly applied. I was thrilled as I never tan! I then had my hair and makeup done on the day of the wedding. I had a wash and blowout for my hair and it came out just as I wanted it to! Not over the top, just naturally pretty. Thank you Kayle! My makeup was absolutely perfect, as well. Tara is a true professional and it looked fantastic. It was just right for photographs without being too much for the wedding and reception. It took me a long time to find a hair dresser that I felt did exactly what I wanted with my hair and would "nail it" every time. I found my girl at Tara's! I see Amie and she's incredible at what she does. I've been seeing her for almost a year now. She brought my hair from a dull brown to an icy blonde, which I sported for half the year, and now that it's winter, I went auburn/red. All I have to do is show her a picture of what I want and she will do EXACTLY what you see in the pic. It's crazy how close she gets it. I've done this with other stylists in the area and it doesn't come out at all like the picture. One stylist I went to even argued with me when I wanted to dye my hair darker and said she wouldn't do it because it would make me look "pale" even though that was my go-to color for years. Amie won't do that. She is a true professional and is a hair color genius/goddess! Tell her what you are looking for and what you want and she will make that magic happen. I had grown sick of my usual cut and color. I was in need of a change! Driving home from work, I noticed a new salon opened up. I booked my appointment about a month in advance for the week I was going to be visiting CT because I've been waiting forever for Andrea to do my hair. We talked about what I was looking for and how much I'm willing/able to maintain colors and styles, and Andrea was very transparent about what my best options would be, and I was so happy with the outcome. While I was there, Andrea also color matched me for extensions, and they came in so fast! She ordered them late on Wednesday after my appointment and had time to place them on Saturday afternoon. I've had tape-in extensions twice before, but Andrea sold me on hand sewn extensions. They look and feel so much better than the tape-ins. Tape-in extensions have a lot of washing and styling rules, but the extensions Andrea placed are very straightforward and easy to maintain. I can ponytail and braid my hair without them showing (a huge plus), and Andrea gave me step by step instructions to take care of them. She also set me up with a stylist near where I live so that I wouldn't have to fly up every 6-8 weeks to have them adjusted! I'm so glad I finally had time to see Andrea and get my hair done, she's amazing! I'm definitely booking an appointment with her when I'm back in town for the holiday 7/19/19 update It's been about a month since Andrea placed my extensions and while it's nearing time for me to go in and have them pushed up, it's not at all noticeable like tape in extensions would be 4 weeks after the fact- they aren't clumpy, the tape isn't visible, and there's no worry that they're pulling out in patches. I'm so glad Andrea talked me into the hand sewn extensions! Hand sewn extensions are definitely the way to go, and Andrea did an amazing job placing them. read more

I am so lucky to have been introduced to Tara and her team! Shelby is a magician when it comes to cutting and styling my thick, course hair! I have never had an updo last me all night, even with dancing, hugging and everything else, my hair did not budge all night! When planning for my wedding, Tara and Shelby were always quick to respond and very helpful with determining timing for the day. Got makeup done here. The artist was so sweet and understanding when I needed a break from mascara wands and lash application. Cleary has a lot of experience doing makeup because she picked a perfect mix of foundations that matched my skin tone instantly and wasn't heavy feeling. It lasted all night. I get my hair done here by Amie....she's Outstanding! :D professional and down to earth....always on the cutting edge of new hair coloring products....and not overly pricey for the great work she does (a full color runs about 55 $....and She uses wella hair color which isn't has harsh as other lines) Tara...the Owner is ever helpful and wiling to get you any product you may want...if They do not have what you are looking for available in house. She also does the most amazing job with make up :D (had a co worker who had their wedding make up through her...it Was brilliant). I've also had the pleasure of having Shelby fix my hair color (when I messed it up eepp)....turned out better than I could have hoped for. Kayle does my hair and does a HAIRTASTIC job at it. She does anything I ask for. Unless she thinks it won't work lol.
