Due to being on a time crunch, I verbally confirmed five times how long it would take for my oil change to finish. I was given an estimate of 45 minutes to get in and out. One hour later they call me back to tell me they don't have the filter for my car (Audi Q7) and that it'll take another hour just to get my filter in. Seriously, c'mon .. I didn't expect to be in and out in literally 45 minutes but doubling the time plus some? These guys need to get their business together. People don't have time to waste like this. read more

A mouse got under the hood and tore up a bunch of wires connected to the engine. Kwik Kar got the parts ordered and everything repaired quickly. Only complaint I have is there was an additional $300 charge added at the end or the service for some 3rd party computer reset. I have used Kwik Kar in the past for auto repair, and despite my complaint about the additional charge I will be using them again in the future. read more

I've used this Kwik Kar location twice recently for 2 different cars and the service both times has been great! Helped to replace front brake pads on 1 car and knocked out inspection, then helped with a Volvo oil filter housing that was stuck. Dealership was going to charge me crazy numbers. I was able to bring the part in to replace the housing, they had the whole team together brainstorming to get the original stripped housing off. Bam! Got it off, switched out, and rocked it! I showed up for an inspection and was told to park. Soon after another car arrived and was put in line before my car. Upon asking the manager why this happened he tried to tell me the other customer was in line first which they were not. Manager also refused any discount and basically offered no apology. I will not be returning as this inspection took twice as long as it should have due to disorganization and poor management. read more

Took my 2018 to this place for a state inspection. They wrote the car up as a 2017 for some reason. After spending over 2 hours at the county trying to get it registered, I was told that because this KwikKar had written it as a 2017, I couldn't get the car registered. THANK YOU FOR NITHING!!! Going to stop coming here after a decade. You just lost a long time customer. I paid so much to restore my AC last year and you did work with me at that time. It stopped working since a rock hit my condenser. Now I get that is not under warranty so I tried to save some money by getting my own part. I am a hard working nurse trying to support my disabled veteran husband and children and I have to cut corners when I can. Now you tell me "We don't like to use outside parts, sorry." Really? I only came here because it was so close to work and I need an inspection done because I was already a month behind on this! OOPS. I came in and first I did not have a printed out copy of my updates insurance information, so I had to call my insurance people to get that faxed to them. Which was nice of them to let them fax them directly and they let me keep a copy for future reference. Then the mechanic told me my check engine light was on and that he couldn't do a full inspection because of that. I explained to him why it was on to see if they had the part to fix it but he did not understand what I was saying which kind of worried me if he doesn't know what a gas valve is and he works on cars all day. Anyways, I got it fixed and came back on another day. The guy asked me to come outside and said that my power steering fluid needed replacing and that he could get that completed before the inspection is finished, but I didn't want to pay $89 for that so I passed on that. I noticed another female reviewer saying that a mechanic convinced her to get a flush that she did not need and probably did this because she's a female and didn't k now. I hear you sister, I felt the exact same way when he was telling me about what I needed to get completed. After that the inspection was completed in maybe 15 minutes! Not bad at all. The cashier is super friendly and always smiling. No complaints about the checkout process! I guess my only complaint was that the mechanic didn't know what I was talking about that needed to get fixed, I also noticed on their website they do provide services for check engine light, so why didn't he just do that. Went to this location both because it was close but because of all the good reviews. I will never be coming back there again. Worst oil change I've ever had. They were more concerned about up selling me on other services than do the oil change correctly. Their vacuum service was non existent and their clean the windows left with streaks that I then had to clean myself. The billing was incorrect and I had to fight to get it correct (they tried to charge me for a service that I declined) After two days of oil dripping from my car, was able to bring it back in. They told me.they didn't have time to look at my car. It wasn't until I stood up for myself and show them that the oil they changed was literally dripping from my car onto their parking lot. They begrudgingly took it and found that the mechanic who did the first oil change broke one of the sealant rings. They replaced it but I took it to another place to get looked at....oil still dripping even after the fix. They had flooded the line to the engine and it had oil in there that had to be cleaned out. So not only was the first experience not good, but the fix experience was not good and it took someone else to finally fix it. read more

He has soft couches with charging port options as well as tables so people could work as they waited I'd need be. I was in and out within 10 minutes. They offer not just service but trust, which is hard to come by. Yeah, this place will be happy to flush you! Potential customers of this place need to be wary of the con artists who work here. As was mentioned in a previous review, the grease monkeys here will try to upsell you on unnecessary transmission and cooling flushes. Here's how they work this scam. "Mechanic" services your car and performs a simple oil change. Then he'll walk into into the waiting area where he summons you with a stern look in his eye and walks you out to your car. Then he'll dip the transmission stick and attempt to show you how dirty your fluid is and try to get you to pay for an overpriced and very unnecessary flush. What this pathetic con artist didn't realize was that I had just drained and filled my fluid less than 7,000 miles earlier and I had checked it myself less than a month ago and it was still clean as a whistle. Then I asked him why he was checking it with the engine OFF instead of ON and he just slithered away without saying anything. Needless to say, I was pissed as all get out and would have complained to management but guessing they are probably encouraging this attempted larceny so I didn't bother. These kind of places used to be notorious for playing this game trying to sell air filters using passive agressive tactics such as this but looks like they've graduated to pushing more pricey flushes now. First, the owner, Ray is a wonderful man. I worked close by and had been taking my car there for oil changes for a year or so. One day after starting a new sales job, Ray was there and was making small talk with me. He asked what I did and when I told him I was new to sales was quick to show me to his table FULL of networking business cards and invited me to a networking lunch, that I went to. I still have my business cards on his table at the shop. Ray has always gone above my expectations when I go in to get my car serviced, remembering when I was in last and asking how my work is going. He is truly a good person and runs his business well as he should, if you know what he did before this. I have found them to be very quick and have much more reasonable pricing than any other shop I have taken my car. They make helpful suggestions but understand that I don't always have the money to do them. They are frank and I have never had anyone try to upsell me an air filter that I didn't need. I have had both my brakes and my bf's brakes worked on and have saved a ton of money compared to other shops. Today I had my first experience at Kwik Kar Vista Ridge. I came here for my car maintenance needs since its literally right by my place. I got nice friendly service from the entire staffs. I am not telling you that they have the fastest service or anything because it was Saturday. It took them about 40 minutes to get my car inspected, plus they did vacuum the front interior. Though they do care about how service is, which means to me a lot. I know that most of the time when you go to places like this you think that all they want to do is milk every drop of money you have, but I've never felt that way here. I would definitely go back. I went to this location during a lunch break for a State Inspection and oil change. Upon arriving I was greeted outside by the manager who took all my information and told me it would be about 20 minutes. Before I could finish my lunch he had called me with the inspection results to let me know everything checked out and the oil change would only take 10 more minutes. I was in and out in about 30 minutes with no problems. The customer service was great, but the part I appreciated the most was that when he told me about a few things that needed to be done to my truck, he didn't try to up sale or push me. He let me know I may need to get the fluids flushed, but didn't try to pull any "you wont pass inspection if you don't," stuff on me. I gave it four stars because this was my first visit but they have definitely created future business with me and they could easily be a five star with another visit. The Kwik Kar team ran some diagnostics and determined that the culprit was merely a loose battery terminal connection. They tightened up the clamp and sent me off with a handshake. If the repair may take a while, Ray or one of his employees will gladly give you a ride to somewhere else. We give no stars to this location!!! We went to get an oil change for my 2018 Equinox because my car dealership was closed already so we decided to take it to the Kwik Kar on MacArthur and they told us that we needed an air filter change but we denied that service due to us doing it ourselves. They put everything back together and we paid for the service and we drove off the lot, we got close to 7-11 on 121 (so not even around the corner) my car stared to shake. My husband said that it might have did that to get the oil through the car so i turned on RockBrook street and it shook even more, so we went to the new Petco on 3040 and had the car off for a good 30 minutes. I turned my car on to leave and my car's check engine light came on and then shut off!!! Mind you it's HOT outside and in the blarring sun with our kids with us. We had sent them to HomeZone to keep cool after waiting 30 minutes. We spent more than 2 hours in the sun while the kids went to HomeZome to cool off. We called Kwik Kar to tell the what happened to my car and they sent 3 guys to come look at my car, they ran dignostics on it and told me it was my alternator going out. I said how's it going out if it was working fine when we took the car to you? Alberto said They go out alot. my car is up to date on everything and i take good care of my vehicle so how did ya'll do my oil change and now my car is messing up? My husband asked if they can fix it since they messed up the car. They left and said we can call his boss to see if they can tow it their location and fix it. My husband called the boss and the conversation was how it was not their fault because we can't prove it and we have to pay the tow and the parts with labor! But we can take it get a quote from another mechanic and if it proven that they messed up my car they can entertain the idea of them paying for it. So of course that will anger anyone so we had our vehicle towed to a mechanic on 121 and had him check out our Equinox. Mechanic said why would the alternator go out if it has nothing to do with the oil change. He did a diagnostic on my car and the only error coming up was "intake air temperature senseor circut low voltage". The mechanic looked at the cabin filter sensor and took it apart and found a piece of glass in the progs of the sensor!! and my coolant container was empty. Can't tell me thats not suspicious! i asked the mchanic how can that happen if everything was bolted down, he said someone put it in there then asked if Kwik Kar took it apart? I said yes, they did take it apart and asked my husband if we wanted to change the filter but we denied that service. The mechanic cleaned out the sensor and put it together and now my car works perfect like it did before we took it to this location. We are beyond angry that this has happend to us, the one time we didn't take it to my usual location we get screwed over. We had to pay for the tow, the new dignostic, parts and labor for the new sensor due to the old one being bent because "something" was shoved into it. I will be getting our money back plus what we just spent to get it my car home. read more

Disappointed! I've used this location for oil changes and inspections and been happy with their service - until today. Today, I took my Camry in for an "oil change". When I got the bill it was double what I expected. The mechanic made the decision to use synthetic oil without telling me. When I objected to this I was told that if I didn't use synthetic oil it would void my warranty. The car is no longer under warranty! No apology or adjustment just we'll "make a note to use regular oil next time". That's assuming I will return! read more

This place is straight trash! Normally where I go services my car and they do a great job. I wasn't able to get my oil changed there for 2 weeks so I had no choice but to take my car here. Normally I bring my oil and oil filter to the car place, they knock some money off because they are using my stuff. So normally it's only $12 at my normal place to get my oil changed. When they change my oil.. they fill my tired with air, they give me wiper fluid and power steering fluid.. they even reset my oil gage. So a few weeks ago I brought my car to this place.. because like I said I had no choice.. they changed my oil pretty quickly. Spoke to the lady in the garage and she said that they would take off $5 for my oil and oil filter being present.. even though my oil it's self is like $40.. but okay and the oil filter is like $8. So they change my oil the lady at the counter rings me up and lord and be hold.. they only take off $2 for my oil filter. And I'm thinking oh okay, they just didn't use my $40 oil.. haha I was wrong. Not only did they charge me $38 to change my oil. But they didn't even run my car though the car wash. And they didn't put air in my tires and didn't refill my fluid.. and they DIDN'T reset my oil gage on my car. Use all my oil and they still charged me for the oil that they didn't use. Long story short. All my tires were low on air, I had no wiper fluid, and had to figure out on my own how to reset my oil gage. I could have changed my own oil and saved $38. This place was so lazy, so unprofessional, and complete trash. No respect for other people and will not go the extra mile or even meet you at the finish line for a customer. How fucking hard is all that to do? Com'on man!! read more
