It's a family owned business and the owner and his sons are very nice and very transparent about what's going on with your vehicle maintenance and the cost. was going to take an Uber home, but the owner asked how far away I lived and since I was pretty close, his son gave me a ride home. I have been a long time customer of Simon's and highly recommend him. I drive from downtown Dallas to Lewisville to keep using him as my auto repair place. He is more affordable than many other mechanics in the DFW area and his quality has always been great. I even had him meet me one day when I picked out the used car I wanted to buy so that he could inspect it, which went well, and I've only needed oil changes and the front brakes done over the past several years. Plus, when the sun melted off my rear-view mirror after sitting in a parking lot for 8 hours on a 108 degree day, Simon was able to fix it at little cost versus the Lexus dealership who is ridiculously high priced on everything! This is one of the most honest mechanics around town!!!! Simon was so helpful in helping me find solutions to my car trouble. The dang thing turned on check engine light. I went to two mechanics prior to Simon. They both told me I needed a new transmission. Simon, smart man that he is...told me they were lying because my car wouldnt even drive if I needed a new transmission. He then remember a Toyota recall on my car a few years ago. He helped me try to track down that recall by pretending to be my boyfriend and called Toyota himself. I'm a girl, I had no idea what the heck was going on. LOL He told me how to handle Toyota. I had some problems with my fuel system and exhaust. After talking to some people, I expected around $1000 worth of repair. I went to Simon's to get an estimate. The staff were very fast to get to me and diagnosed my car right away. Then they thoroughly explained what needed to be done. The estimate was about $650. I was glad that it was under what I was expecting so I left my car with them. The repair was done fairly quickly and when I was done, the bill was $560, even less than the estimate. I feel that this place is very honest, friendly and a welcome change from most of the auto repair shops that I've visited before. Give them a chance and I think you will agree! One of my headlights went out last week. I was able to get the bulb for it, but I needed someone to replace it for me. I searched Yelp for a good nearby mechanic, and Simon's place was the first that popped up. I gave him a call since it was near the end of the work day to see if they'd be able to replace that for me, and he said come on by. Simon chatted with me and was very friendly and personable while his crew replaced the bulb for me in a quick 10-15 minutes or so. Simon brought me my keys and said, "You're all set!" to which I replied, "Okay, but how much do I owe you?" And he simply said, "Nothing -- be safe and we'll take care of you when you're in the area." I know it was a quick and easy repair for them since I already had the bulb and all they had to do was pop the covering of my headlight off, put the bulb in, and put the covering back on. That said, I could have paid them for their time, but Simon chose to show me a little act of kindness after he learned I had wrapped up a year-long internship earlier in the week and am currently on the job hunt. My brakes had been squeaking for a log time and I know nothing about cars. I brought my car up on a Saturday to have the brakes looked at. Even though it was the weekend they checked my brakes almost immediately! After a short wait I was told the pads needed to be replaced. He offered for me to come back the following Friday after work to drop my car off because they would be busy on cars the rest of that day. On Friday I got there around 4pm to drop my car off. He offered me a loaner car which was great so I could go home and get things done while they worked on my car. Fortunately my car was done in a few hours. When I went to pick it up he was super friendly even though it seemed like he had to stay late on a Friday night. Very honest and reasonable prices. This is my first review to write on yelp because this place certainly deserves praise! After getting a quote of 250.00 from another auto repair shop I went to Simon's to get another quote on getting my side mirror fixed. To my surprise Simon said he would do it for me for free bc all he needed to do was glue the part together and add a screw to keep it stable and 'glue doesn't cost but 5 dollars' so he wasn't going to charge me for that. Now what business is not fast to jump on charging you for labor, parts, whatever they can get out of you. Talk about making my day b/c I went into this thinking I was going to be out of pocket some money. So instead I decided to leave my car there and get my oil changed since it was due for one.
