They don't send patients that are in need of ICU to the ICU until the last minute. And don't get me started on the palliative care doctor. The emergency room staff were top notch, but unfortunately there was one nurse from the 4th floor named Patricia who stuck her nose in my business and called the police when I said "Fuck". They held food and liquids from me due to a G.I. scope procedure. The problem was they never came to get me the first day and I had to argue with the Charge nurse for ice water. The 2nd day the charge nurse told me I was on the schedule for 10:30 am, nut they would most likely get me at 9:30 for labs. At 11 am I started getting angry due to being hungry and dry mouthed. This is when Patricia stuck her skank nose in my business when I asked how long does it take to get a glass of fucking ice water? Telling me I couldn't have any until talking to the doctor. I asked how long that was going to take and in a pissy response told me give him two minutes he's on another floor! Then she went to send the police to my room. Great way to provide care to cancer patients who already have trouble eating. I've lost 45 pounds in a month so far and can't be denied food when I need to eat. The doctor never showed up and I was told by the G.I. nurse that scopes aren't scheduled until after 3 pm. They lied to my face so I had no choice but to check myself out of the hospital and seek treatment at a better hospital called Baylor Scott and White where they actually care. Top nurses at Seton 4th floor were Grace, Aurora, Gilbert, Lori (mama bear) and Raynel. Patricia is useless and has absolutely no bedside manner. Don't stick your nose in someone else's business if you don't want to get bit!!!

Annie mentioned that there were many patients waiting, which was inaccurate, as only two people were in the waiting room. My…read moredaughter was crying in severe pain from what appeared to be a migraine or severe headache, and before deciding whether to check her in, I simply wanted to ask if the hospital had the appropriate equipment and specialists to treat her condition. If not, I was prepared to take her elsewhere. Unfortunately, the receptionist, Jessica, was on her phone when I approached. When I asked my questions, she was rude, dismissive, and spoke in a condescending tone. Rather than showing empathy or helping us understand our options, she responded, "This is an emergency room hospital," in a way that made it clear she didn't want to be bothered. As a parent with a child in tears and obvious pain, compassion and professionalism matter. Instead, I left feeling like my daughter would not receive the care or attention she needed. Because of that interaction alone, I made the decision to drive 40 minutes from Kyle to Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin. The difference in care was night and day. From the moment we arrived at Dell Children's, the staff was compassionate, attentive, and made us feel like my daughter's well-being truly mattered. I understand working in an emergency department is stressful, but there is never an excuse for treating worried parents and children with such a lack of empathy. First impressions matter, especially in healthcare. I sincerely hope Baylor Scott & White addresses this, because no family should feel discouraged from seeking care due to the attitude of the person greeting them.

Unfortunately, both have left Seton, with the most recent one just having departed on 1/1/19. Seton notified me in a letter dated 11/27/18. Here are pertinent points from that letter: "* If you currently have an appointment scheduled after December 31st with Dr. XXXX, one of our staff will contact you to reschedule with another Seton physician, and ensure the smooth transition of your care. * We are also pleased to announce that XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD, Family Medicine will be relocating to Seton Family of Doctors at Hays and accepting new patients beginning January 14, 2019. * Alternatively, please feel free to contact us, (512) 504-0855, if you have any questions, would like to obtain a copy of your patient record, or choose to arrange transfer of your records to another physician." I didn't have an appointment scheduled but needed one so I called. I told them who I would like to see at the practice and they told me "no." They assured me that the letter clearly explained that I had to see the new doctor at the practice. I told them that them letter said nothing of the sort. Never mind the fact that I was due for a follow up before the new MD was seeing patients. I guess they figured a couple of weeks wasn't a matter of life and death. They were insistent. They were complete a--holes. And they still are. If you want any say in your care, go elsewhere. The one thing you will not find here is caring about what you want.

She is fantastic and we're glad to have her as our Primary Care Physician. She is the definition of what a Primary Care doctor should be. She familiarizes herself with your whole medical history and determines if you need to be examined further by a specialist. Then I found Dr. Wenzel... probably the very best Endocrinologist I've ever met. I left my last Diabetes doctor because I only saw the actual doctor twice in the year-1/2 I went there. Dr. Wenzel was very thorough, spent a good amount of time with me, and was kind enough to phone me (on a Saturday morning) to deliver the results of my lab work. Unbelievable! Needless to say. He's the ONLY endocrinologist I ever want to see. It's not just the wonderful Doctors at Seton, but also the Staff. From Reception to Nurses and PAs, you feel welcomed and cared for every visit. They also have their own Lab on site and it sure beats going to one of those places where you wait for a long time just to give a little blood. The Phlebotomist is the best I've ever seen. Never a bruise or sting. Smooth as glass. Seton also has the very best Patient Portal I've ever seen. It's easy to get a message to or from the Doctors, manage appointments, pay bills, and view test results. I just love this Medical Team and am happy to live close enough to use them exclusively.

You'd think people that worked in a hospital setting would be used to patients coming into the emergency room in pain???!!! I was actually shushed ,multiple times.!!!!! I presented there with what ended up being a pretty rare in fact of the rarest nerve disease. And it is so painful that people die from it because they refuse to eat. So this was my first experience with this pain and of course I went straight to the ER. They did tell me I didn't have an ear infection ,( I already knew that) and They kept telling me to be quiet because I was moaning constantly and every once in a while Id scream when the pain became too much to bear anymore. The doctor eventually came in and told me they were going to give me antibiotics and eardrops. I asked why and he said for your ear infection ??? But they said I did not have one and I knew that I did not have one also.???? I know it's a rare nerve disease but if somebody had just talked to me and asked me where and how it was hurting and everything they might have just figured it out. Side note ,, not related to my story - I asked for and received my husband's emergency room bill from that location and got them to take off $1,200 worth of charges for services never received!!!! Just saying when you get your bill in the mail from the hospital itself call them and ask them for an itemized bill . you will be amazed how much they're charging for that Ibuprofen theyg you $86 1 pill!!¡!

Not only did Dr. Manchanda refuse to speak to me like a person, inform me on my condition, or read my patient file, he yelled at me after I asked him three questions in a row. I don't even think he noticed I started crying five minutes in because he has never once looked me in the face. He treated my basic requests (like having a family member on the phone because my condition involves damaged short term memory) like a nuisance. He told me my injury was totally fine and "not disabling". This injury has made me drop out of school, struggle to remember basic words, and stay trapped inside because I can barely climb a single flight of stairs. He recommended on several separate occasions, medications and doctors that I am already on and are already seeing, even though he only looks at the computer for the entirety of the visit. If he fails to know that basic patient information, he certainly wouldn't know if he prescribes a med with fatal interactions. He also tried to tell me that I don't actually have the debilitating pain, vision problems, memory issues, and other symptoms from my injury, I'm just depressed. Of course I'm depressed, I have debilitating pain. My entire life has been ripped out from under me. That would make anyone depressed. Depression doesn't give you diagnosed oculomuscular disorders. When I asked him if I can ever participate in the things I love again in my life, he was aggressive, rude, and told me I "need to stop asking so many questions." I had asked 5 in our entire visit. Nobody sees a neurologist unless their life has been entirely shattered. Nobody deserves to be treated this way when their entire future is hanging in the balance.
