4/16: I had expectations of walking out loving my nails but I didn't. I was dissatisfied and disappointed with what I paid for. $80 for French tip manicure for dip with nail tips. I wanted to treat myself to a mani after a year of not going to any nail salons. I didn't receive any type of nail bath/soaking, cutting of the cuticles, or just any clean up overall... but I was charged for it. The lady I got was very kind. It seemed like she knew what she was doing but I just really don't like the results and was not happy paying for the service I got. Their credit card machine doesn't work, but they have an ATM that guests need to use in order to pay. I wish I had known this before going. The overall cleanliness of the salon was not that great. Very cluttered and dusty. I wish I could get my money back. I have never been this unhappy with getting my nails professionally done. I am going to be painting over them. 4/17-EDIT: After receiving a phone call, the following morning, saying I can come in to get everything redone, I decided to come in. I originally wanted to get my nails soaked off and reimbursed for what I originally paid, but they don't do that. With having said that, you will want to make sure you like what you get. I will attach the new photos. I am very happy with the outcome but I am peeved that I had to come back a second time for a service that should have been done to "perfection" (hence the name of the place) the first time. The shape is nice, the nails are no longer lumpy, and I got the manicure I originally asked for. Michelle was very detail oriented and sweet. I'm not sure who I had last time, but it seems like it was rushed and it was a mundane task that was completed just to get through the work day. It is nice to get what I originally paid and asked for. Thank you Michelle! All workers seem to be very nice & happy to work. It seems like I caught someone having a rough day when I came in yesterday afternoon to get a dip manicure with french tips. Customer service after the original experience was excellent. Michelle reached out, gave me a complimentary service, and everything was perfect. Thank you, Michelle! 4/18-Another edit: Not so perfect anymore. I lowered the stars again...because a nail just broke. $80 nails should not break after having them done for one day, after already being redone. I called the salon asking for manager because I wanted a refund. She said that she would fix it but I refused to go in for a 3rd time to get my nails fixed when they should have been done correctly the first time. She said she will talk to the "big boss" and call back. 4/27- I never got a call back and they expressed zero concern of wanting to make the situation right. I am giving up. No person should have to return to a nail salon twice to get nails fixed after the first visit was not good. Not coming back again. I would avoid this place if possible. read more

I think my nails turned out okay but it was not an easy experience. First, the technician argued with me about the length that I wanted (she wanted longer, I wanted shorter). Second, she tried filing them down to a shorter length and I insisted she cut them to the length I wanted but she didn't want to do that at all. I told her 5 times to cut them (no exaggeration). She actually told me that I didn't want them short. Finally, she got some of the gel polish smudged on my finger and I said to just leave it. She kept trying to fix it by filing my skin and using scissors to scrape it off which hurt! She just was resistant to listening to me and I had to tell her with more force, "no filing, no scissors, it's hurts me." She tried again with the file! Unbelievable experience. I've gotten simple gel manicures done at a number of places over the years and this place is by far the worst. I went twice just to make sure it wasn't just one bad day. (Thankfully I had a gift card that covered nearly 2 full manicures and didn't have to spend too much of my own money.) The first time I went, I had an older gentleman. He was a bit shaky, and though he made it seem like he was doing a variety of things to clean and polish, just a few days later, they were starting to show discoloration, wear, and even chipping. Gel should not do this. A couple of my nails were breaking on the sides. This hasn't happened at other places. I loved the color, so stuck it out for a while before going back. When I made my appointment this time, I made sure to say I wanted someone other than him. I got an older woman this time, who, though not shaky, was more interested in carrying on conversations with other workers than she was looking at my nails. I don't mind that, but only if you're paying attention to the task at hand, which she was not. From the previous visit, my nails were breaking on the side, so I pointed that out to her (I shouldn't have had to - she should be examining the nails). She quickly glued them, but didn't file or ensure they were fixed. Within 3 days of leaving the salon, the nails broke further and the polish even chipped off. Overall, I just don't think they care enough about doing a good job or pay enough attention... I also fully believe they use junky/sub-par gel polish, causing damage to the nails.. I will never go back (now that my gift cards have been exhausted). Back to my regularly scheduled programming at a much better salon! read more

Now I will say in general, not all manicurists are good but that goes across the industry, including cosmetologists and estheticians. There are some really good ones and then there are others who are OK. I've been blessed to have my nails done by a couple of them but my go to person is Mrs. Kim. Not only are the prices inaccurate, the work given is very half assed . I asked for a medium acrylic full set with gel that's it. For nice proper looking nails they will have a nice apex not an actually flat nail. I was cut a few times during the session even after during the hand massage she couldn't bother doing the other hand properly. They still expected to be tipped. I was not informed that I would be charged $111 total for a gel pedicure and manicure. When I called them, they told me that 43 dollars is just for the uv gel doesn't include 12 dollars for the color. I have never heard of that. I am not really certain the difference between a fill and straight manicure however they charge around 10 dollars more. I saw other people there not being charged the same amount. I have never spent $111 dollars for manicure and pedicure every anywhere. My usual place for the same thing charges me around $85 however they didn't have time for me today. I asked to get the gel removed and a regular manicure. They charged $27 + tip for this. While using the drill he cut the skin by my cuticle. He cut my nails different lengths and filed only one hand. He did not remove all of the gel - there were still lumps of it left behind which left a bumpy texture with the nail polish. I made him aware of this and instead of fixing it he said "do not complain I am trained nail technician". He also did not massage lotion which is part of any manicure and left my hands super dry. La Perfection Nails at Mercer Mall is a disgrace. I got my nails done there 2 weeks ago. I have been going for 12 years. I have seen the same person for 12 years. The last time I went I got a pink refill and she decided to add white which I did not ask for. She got the white on the pink on almost every nail and expected me to pay. I said I cannot pay for something that is this badly messed up. They said they could fix it but I had to leave to get my daughter. They said to fix it they needed to file the pink and white down. I never get white refills because I get the white high enough on my nails to last until the next set. She said I have to because that is how they fix it. I said how fair is that that I have to pay for a mistake. I said I will pay for the pink refill but to pay for the mistake (white) is not fair. They also told me to come back in a week which I told them I couldnt. I said I was not sure when I would be back. I had personal reasons I did not want to think about let alone disclose. I told them I would be back as soon as I can. I paid for my pedicure and left. Today I go in for an appointment and they said they can no longer service me because I might not pay. I said in 12 years I have never not paid and its not fair to pay for a mistake. She said I never told her when I would be back. I said because I didn't know when I would be back I had to get a biopsy...so I was being curteous of your time by not scheduling and perhaps had to cancel. She said I should have told her about my biopsy. She wanted me to divuldge such information inorder for it to be okay. Over the 12 years I thought we built a bond. Watched kids be born...etc etc. I said so after 12 years of no complaints and you mess up onetime and you are mad I don't want to pay for a mistake and did not want to tell you I may have cancer so I can't schedule you are all of a sudden afraid I won't pay? Okay. Needless to say my mom and friends will no longer be going there. Not only do they not take responsibility for their mistakes by thinking the client's should pay they could care less about their clients...those who have kids to get and even those who could possibly have breast cancer. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. And this is coming from someone who was once a repeat customer--NOT ANYMORE because of their unprofessionalism, rudeness, and incompetence. Went in for a wax two days ago and the technique was unsatisfactory. I went in two days later to complain (it was only after one day that I noticed coarse hair growth) and the lady who waxed me pointed her finger at me in front of the entire salon and told them I had a "condition" that made my hair growth coarse and lied saying I came in 5 days ago and that I shaved??? Seriously? Not only did I receive a horrible service, was humiliated in front of the salon; but they LIED on top of it? The nails were okay, still overpriced for the service they provide and they also cut into my cuticle. This review however is primarily about the waxing and the complete disregard for my dissatisfaction as a repeat customer was unacceptable. At the very least I expected them to finish the job without additional charges, as there was VERY visible stubble and multiple missed spots, but these people are money hungry and only want a cash grab. I eventually had it taken care of at European Wax Center and they told me that no matter how coarse the hair is, the hair growth should NOT have been this quick or messy. Avoid LA IMperfection Nails. They don't care about their customers or even want to make it a comfortable environment because of how entitled and greedy they are. Never EVER coming here again. read more

First off it's cash only. Then I asked for just a mani and pedi and they kept asking me if I wanted gel. No. Just a regular mani pedi, $50. Fine whatever. So I pick my color and I am asked to sit down in the pedicure chair. So I sit down and start taking my boots off. Then she decides she's gonna do my nails first so I have to move to her station. She does my cuticles and asks me to go wash my hands. I do. When I turn back around she starts filling the tub for my toes. She has me bend down by my feet to paint my nails, tugging on my hands to come closer. So uncomfortable. I brought my book to read, couldn't really do that. Then she informs me if I want the callous off my feet it's the deluxe package which is a $20 up-charge. I refused, she bent my toes at weird angles and hurt me during the massage. I will never go back there. Oh and there was a man there, I'm guessing the owner, sitting in a pedi chair eating sunflower seeds with no mask or shoes on the entire time. My service was quite wonderful, quick, affordable and professional. My friends, going on at the same time, was not the same, so I see the inconsistency (although she received a different service). I received a gel mani, well priced I might add, for $28 with $2 for soak-off. Back home, when I'm not studying at school, that's at least $35 before soak-off. There was a language barrier, but it did not prevent my manicure from coming out beautifully. Okay. This place is so unsanitary. The tools the technician is using doesn't look clean and visibly worn. She used a callous removing file and it was frightening as she didn't look like she had good control of the machine and it was flying around. She snipped so much of my cuticles, I'm bleeding. I'm scared of an infection because of how unsanitary it is here. They are also pushing clients to do more or upgrade. I mentioned that she started putting the wrong color on my nails (not what I had shown her) and she began speaking incredibly harshly and loudly to her colleague, clearly about me. This continued my entire manicure which was also not done well. I went to get a full set done, I asked for short squared nails. They aren't terrible but I can see how some of the nails aren't properly shaped, some are uneven and it drives me crazy. I got gel nail polish, the lady that did my nails did two coats of it but some nails look like they have 4 coats of polish. My nails aren't as short as I like them. I didn't like they're pricing, I can get a full set done cheaper somewhere else. I didn't tip the nail technician because she wasn't very friendly, she cut 3 of my fingers while filing them, and I had already spent too much money on nails i don't really love. However i went in for a nail cut down into an almond shape and was charged 10 dollars for it. She added a gel top coat and all of this was done in rush, i don't like that.I believe in a customer service field, you should take time to make sure your customers get quality service. Its simply ok. She did a decent job on my acrylic nails. There were plenty of chairs and i sensed that they had some sort of order going on as to who gets the next customer- that was probably why i was being SUPER RUSHED. So, when i walked in through the door, the lady michelle ( very short petite lady, looked like the manager ,long hair) asked me to choose a color. I was indecisive and told her i needed a few minutes. 2 min later, she came over and tried to 'help'.. and i KNOW she wasnt trying to be helpful, she was rushing the crap outta me. She helped me choose 2 colors and then we sat down, she told me she would give me some moer time time to select colors later. When it came time to putting polish on, she grabbed the 2 we had chosen earlier and asked me to decide, OMG I WAS NOT EFFIN READY! I didnt even know what shade i wanted. So, i excused myself to look at more colors, and then she came right behind me 30 seconds later offering to 'help. LADY, back off! I needed some time to breathe. Anyhow, im not the type of person to holler in a store, so i picked 2 colors- one my standard and the second a weird color i wanted to try out. She applied the weird color on me intially. Two fingernails later, i asked her if she could please take it offf and put the other color on. She made the most exhaustive face i have ever seen and told me- "once we change i not changing the color again!" ARE U KIDDING ME? who talks to a customer like that? I admit, i did not look my best that day, but that should not matter. Anyhow, i left with glue still stuck on my nails and my nailpolish coats were not evenly applied. I went for my first time two weeks ago, and at first everyone seemed nice and they had a great range of polishes. Then when I went to pay they told me it was cash only, which they should've said from the start. Luckily they had an atm. About four days later one of my nails cracked because the nail tech made the tip too thin. I go and get it fixed which they did not charge me for. The next day, another nail was cracked and when I went to get this one fixed they tried charging me $7 for a cracked nail when the day before that it was free (and their price list days starting price for a fix nail is $3). The lady argued with me until she changed the price too $4 and after that, the service was horrible. They were rude and the nail tech who did my nail rushed. She did such a bad job fixing my nail that it broke two days later. Never going back there!!!! And they are pricey! read more

Definitely a little on the hit-or-miss side. I've been coming here on and off since this place opened, and it was definitely better in it's earlier days. Perhaps they just got lazy. It's certainly fun to see that everytime I go back, they have new decor or an entirely new decorating theme. The service varies - sometimes I get someone who does an amazing job, and my manicure (obsessed with the OPI Gel) holds for 3-4 weeks. Other times, it starts chipping off after 5 days. It really entirely depends on who you get, but once you find someone you like? Take down their name and only schedule with them! The last time I went, the woman who did my nails was also doing 2 other peoples eyebrows and another manicure, and it took an hour and a half for a manicure that chipped off a week later. Gel should last at least 2 weeks. Mediocre. read more

THE BEST PLACE IN ALL OF MERCER COUNTY TO GET A MANICURE...powder dip, gel or regular. Unlike many other places in the area, they honor their appointment times and do not make you wait. Also, their powder dips and gels last for at least three weeks every time. My two daughters and I have been going here for the past year, and our nails have never been healthier. Michelle, Kelly and Snow are just a few of our favorites. I will not comment on the language spoken by and among the employees - as other reviewers have - because I am not here for friendship and conversation. I am here to get a fabulous, long-lasting manicure at the time that I scheduled (although I have walked in without an appointment, too.) I've been coming here for a while now and I think it is time to give this place the credit they deserve. I get my eyebrows done here (and only here) from Michelle. I will not go to anyone else but only because I know she will get them done PERFECTLY every time. She is absolutely amazing and does a great job doing anything in the salon. As far as getting tips or gels, her husband is definitely the go to guy. As far as manicures and pedicures, if is a little hit or miss but as long as you're not rude to them they are happy to follow what you ask for and change anything that you need changing to. Quality has consistently gone downhill. Last pedicure barely pumiced and basic rough heels were left untouched. When the nail tech saw me eyeing it he told me I should have gone w. the deluxe so 'the machine' could take care of it (even though he spent about 20 seconds pumicing each foot). Nice to try and up-sell me AFTER he had already drained the tub. I also told him he could clip shorter but he just kept filing which means I'll be trimming them myself in a week or so. Not to mention zero foot scrub w. a basic pedicure which used to be included. Lots of sloppy spots on the polish which resulted in acetone touch ups that ate into the polish a bit. This is the only area nail salon that sterilizes their equipment. While I don't find it necessary to take part in all the extra pedicure scrubs and lotions, they do a great job with the pedicures and manicures. Their gel manicures are the best priced and well done in the Princeton area. I highly recommend this salon for their efficiency, quality, safety and affordability.
