WORST LOCATION EVER!!!!!!! The girl working cared more about her phone then helping me with a lotion and checking me in. I asked for a tingle lotion she said they didn't have any, then continued to text on her phone and laugh. I asked if one of the samples I found was a tingle, and she said uh yeah I think...then when I asked what is an intensifier exactly, she responded with "uh idk intensifies your tan"...well duh but why?!? Anyways I bought the sample. Googled it after bc I definitely could tell it wasn't a tingle and it wasn't. So annoying and a waste of my time and money. Will always go to Des Plaines location. Staff is always friendly and helpful which I appreciate as I come in almost weekly for a spray tan. However, more often than not the spray tan machine is inconsistent. One of the nozzles doesn't seem to be misting at all half the time I come in, which I mention to the front desk every time. I've started going to the one in Morton Grove more lately because their machine is at least consistent color every time. This last time at the Glenview location had to be the worst. The one nozzle was not spraying- I couldn't see or feel any mist so I had to re-center between the other two nozzles after the first pass. Even after the dry pass, I still felt very sticky... even after toweling off (it wasn't even a hot or humid day outside)... even when I got home, it felt different. I let it develop over night and what I woke up to was the most Intense orange splotchy spray tan... the stuff spray tan nightmares are made of! I mentioned I spray tan weekly, so I know the body prep for a good tan (exfoliating, no lotion, etc) and I always do level 2 clear and know what I should be getting- this was not it. I've got inconsistent color all over my body, splotchy miscolored arms and legs, and my face looks like it have a skin condition like melasma. Will not be coming back to this location for a spray tan which is unfortunate since it's so close and convenient. read more

Employee lied to my face about monthly charges or was just dumb. I signed up for red light beds over the winter for two months and was told its a month to month contract. When I tried to cancel after two months, they said I had to wait at least three months to cancel. When the third month came, I called to try and cancel. Told me I could not make a cancellation over the phone and I had to come in person to sign paperwork. When I made it in to cancel in person, they said I would not be charged again. A week later I noticed that they charged my credit card for another month AFTER I had canceled. So I called them today. They said I didn't cancel in time to stop the charges for the next month. Which is nonsense. I canceled before the new month started. In my opinion they intentionally lie to gip you out of a couple months charges. Go somewhere else. read more

Zero stars would better describe my experience! I just wanted to pop in and get a little sun. Not difficult. I was wrong! The girl working the desk "doesn't usually work in this location" and as she was registering me in the system she had to call the manager for the password. According to the law I needed I eye protection. She had to call the manager to find the eyewear. I asked to use the restroom. Guess what???? She had to call the manager to ask!!!!! Finally she asked what session I wanted. We agreed Level 1 in a bed. Oh....they don't have that here. How about Level 2? How about NO. I'm out! I understand that sometimes people are new at their job and patience is needed but why in the work would you leave sommeone on their own to run you shop when they don't even know where the bathroom is located! read more

Tucked away on a corner, this place was really hard to find at night with no visible signage. I tried to use the deal that they offer at this location for checking in on Yelp. The two girls working weren't familiar with it and it took a long time to go through the system trying to find it, call a manager to ask for help, and then add me as a new customer *even though I'm already in the system* so that they could give me a similar deal. Eventually they got it figured out and put me in a room. They could definitely use some wall hooks or a place to set your stuff down. In the room they had a tiny wooden folding chair that was broken with a small mirror sitting on top of it. There was nowhere to put my clothes, phone, keys, etc and I felt gross putting them on the floor. Music was good, the bed was stronger than expected for a supposed level one. read more

I think the owners are cheating customers. I use the versa spa spray tan at many locations around the city. Only at this location am I told this machine only does the 2pass tan & not the pre & post treatment. The machine does the 4 pass but the owners do not fill up the solution. I asked the front desk to set it for the 4 pass. She did. It just blows air. Secondly, I always use the dark setting. I know what it looks like. This is a lighter solution than any other I've been to Ask for dark and get one pass Also, they don't offer baby wipes I'd find a different location. read more

The employees are very helpful, the new manager is amazing she showed me a lot of things and thought me about lotions and what to use. She is very knowledgeable and I'm sure she will get the salon in order. The rest of the employees are super helpful as well. It's right by my house that's why I went here originally but I moved a little further away and continued coming here. I am happy with my experience here. read more

If you are looking for an excellent tan with exceptional customer service you've come to the right place. The girl working on 6/3 took the time to do a color consultation with me and helped me select the right shade for my desired end look. Throughout the entire process she gave me clear instructions on how to turn on the machine. She made me feel very comfortable as I was a little nervous sitting in a bed for the first time. Have to say the remodel in progress is very welcome and Metaxia the mgr is super nice and very informed. A welcome change from the previous management team. That being said they only have one level 2 bed...a lay down. And the result of tanning in that bed is you fry on your top and get zero color on your back. I have no idea if it's the bulbs or a fault in that bed and have told Metaxia and even showed her the color I got on my front vs. my back. That machine needs to be replaced even though it is new. So even though I paid for a level one and two package...I can only use the level one beds. read more

I went to this location on Sunday night as the one near my house was closed for the day. When I got there for a spray tan there were two girls ahead of me. The first girl came out and said it didn't seem like the machine was working. The girl behind the counter said it happens all the time and that we would not be able to get spray tans today. I had paid $25 for a spray tan and I asked about getting my money back. The girl said she could not do refunds. I told her I did not want to come back to this location (it's not close to me and why would I want to risk a machine not working?). I asked if I would be able to use the tan I had paid for at another location and she said yes. Come Monday I went to the Des Plaines location and they said that I had to redeem that tan at Glenview. I called Glenview to see about getting my money back and was told the manager came in at 1pm yesterday. I asked if she could call me, but I have received no phone call. Basically, come here at your own risk- I got horrible customer service, no spray tan and $25 cash lost. read more

I love this place! The girl with the black hair, Eva I think, was awesome today, I came in and I was a first time customer, she smiled and was kind the entire time. She also explained to me how lotion worked and how important it was to use it while tanning, she gave a great recommendation also of which one I should use. First of all, if I could give this place zero stars, I would start off with that. I went to tan the other day and turned into the parking lot. There was apparently a do enter sign, but you could not see it until we had already made the turn. The the manger, Samko was just outside hanging, on company's time, and he asked us while if we saw the Sign or were just stupid, He then proceeded to call my boyfriend a douche bag for not knowing how to follow traffic signs. His comments and rude attitude were shocking. There was no one even in the store and no one in the parking lot (I can't imagine why). Who would want to tan with someone like that working there, insulting the customer before they had even gotten in the store. I then refused to go inside and tan at that location. I had to drive all the way to Northbrook to Tan which was a much better salon, but didn't have to be to compete with glenview. I have had an another altercation with Samko before, at the Evanston location. He is a condescending jerk and I can't believe he still employed with LA TAN. He forced me to use a broken bed which gave me horrible 2nd degree sunburns! I've been A loyal customer with this company for years and I'm so disappointed with this encounter, actually I'm disgusted. Samko must be the reason the do not enter sign was there. What's funny is that I'm writing this review, because of the other ladies at LA Tan told me the best way to get to corporate and to get him in trouble/reprimanded for rude and obnoxious behavior was through Yelp, because they hate him so much.According to them, he is nothing but "disrespectful and sexist". It is truly something when your own employees want you reprimanded and are giving advice on how to do it. I hadn't even told the employees what happened. I told one girl this after it happened and why I was now at the Northbrook location, instead of Glenview. I gave myself a few days to calm down to write this review because if I had not it would not have been pretty!!! Btw this is my first yelp ever (still so upset that I actually took time out of my day to make an account and write a review) I made an appointment to have an airbrush tan at 8:00 p.m. on Friday March 02, 2012 and there was a mix up of some kind and they did not get me in until about 8:30 I mean honestly whats the point of making an appointment (I was already frustrated at this point)!! So after waiting about half an hour I get in the room with Julie. Julie was the most unprofessional person I've ever encountered....Talk about uncomfortable! I went into the room undressed and the other girl working in the front had a question so she opened the door completely and everyone probably got a nice view!! Then she did not put a towel under my feet because they were out of towels, the bottom of my feet 4 days later are still brown/black! As she is was complaining about how unorganized the day was her gum flew out of her mouth! To put the cherry on top of it all my airbrush spray tan came out completely ridiculous it looked like a 5 year old was working on me! I had a wedding to attend on Saturday so I had to completely exfoliate and remove this zebra looking tan. I am not putting down La Tan because I normally go to the Morton Grove location and they do a great airbrush spray tan, and the girl Lisa at the front was super nice! But stay away from JULIE!! I even told her I was going to call the manager and her reply was I don't care about 5 times because she knew him from high school, REALLY PROFESSIONAL!
