My 20m old attends L'Academy and she loves it every time I tell her shes going to "La Escuelita" she gets sooo happy and she starts jumping and clapping. She comes home singing a new song every week either in Spanish or in English. I love how I can see her through the day throughout pictures (they use the 1core app) I can see her face and see if shes been happy or sad and I just love love that. She loves her teachers they are nice and sweet. I love how efficient Ms. Rachel is always answering questions and concerns on a timely manner. Our child was a part of L'Academy from age 18 months to 4 years old, entering their toddler class and eventually moving to their Mandarin class. We really cherished our experience with L'Academy. L'Academy has a great balance of play and learning. Their outdoor playground is really interactive, and I appreciated how dirty my kid would get at school. He would also surprise us with how much he learned. The hours are really great for working parents, and there aren't too many school closure days. They also are very accommodating of allergies. Rachel was a really great director. She was easy to communicate with, and she was very involved in our child's care and education. I liked how she would send out newsletters and implemented new ways for us parents to get involved. They also take a lot of photos and videos that they share on a daily basis so we could get a peek at what our kid was doing. My kid loved reading, and Rachel would always make sure there were new books available in the subject he liked. Ava Laoshi, the Mandarin teacher, was very caring and loving. My kid still talks about how much he misses her. My kid picked up a lot of Mandarin, even though we barely speak it at home. I was impressed at how my kid enjoyed learning Chinese. He would always sing the songs he learned there and he would try to engage us in conversation. It was really clear to us how much Ava Laoshi shared her heart with our kid. L'Academy also was a great place for us to meet other parents. They often have parties or events for us to attend. From our experience at L'Academy, we ended up making a lot of friends and we now have a little parenting community together. read more

My son joined L'Academy 6 months ago (2.6 years old), transitioning from a small home-based daycare with very few babies/toddlers and no structure to an actual preschool curriculum with great activities. All the teachers and the owner helped him and our family a lot with this transition and we have seen our kid growing in a lot of ways in just a few months. We are incredibly grateful for our experience at L'Academy! Over the past 2.5 years, our child has flourished in ways we couldn't have imagined. He's built strong, meaningful relationships with all the teachers, made numerous friends, enhanced his social and communication skills, and even improved his Spanish. She and the caring teachers--special shout out to Ms. Elizabeth and Ms. Tatiana--have created such a welcoming, warm, and engaging environment for the children. We really appreciate the frequent updates about meals, naps, events, special activities, and general school news. It keeps us in the loop and makes us feel connected. As our child transitions to TK, saying goodbye to L'Academy is bittersweet. Our daughter has attended L'Academy for the past year, since she was 2 years old. We love it! Ms. Rose is a superb site director--she's experienced as a manager and teacher. Our daughter's teachers are all very kind and welcoming. Our daughter comes home happy EVERY day (this is not an exaggeration) and has made many friends at the school. We have had a wonderful experience with L'Academy Kensington. They welcomed our little one after a difficult transition to childcare elsewhere and provided warmth, encouragement and nurturance that put both her and us at ease. We were so grateful to find such a loving place that also meets so many childcare needs--they have accommodating hours for working parents (730-530), provide meals and snacks, offer language immersion (Mandarin and Spanish) and hold celebratory family gatherings for multicultural events. Our 2 year old loves this preschool! The teachers are all so warm and caring. (One teacher even does my daughter's hair in gorgeous hairstyles daily, which she loves!) Our daughter is happy to go every day, has clearly made good friends and enjoys the creative projects and singing that she does daily. The communication with staff is easy and regular, and I love seeing photo snippets of our girl's day during my workday. She's picking up some Spanish and sometimes using that at home too. Our daughter has been enrolled at L'Academy for 2.5 years (since it opened), first in the toddler program and then in the preschool program. We've been so happy that we enrolled our younger child, too. Both kids love their teachers and have made strong friendships with classmates. The director, Ms. Rachel, has been a wonderful presence. She's very communicative (this is really huge) and also proactive about scheduling activities that engage the whole family, like bringing in items whose names start with the letter of the week (in English or either of the immersion languages). It also helps tremendously that the school checks so many practical boxes: snacks and lunch are provided, the hours cover our whole work day, and there's coverage nearly every day aside from the usual holidays and winter break. (Nearly all the other preschools we looked at took off 6-10 weeks in total, including long summer breaks.) We've been very happy with L'Academy! read more

We enrolled our son at L' Academy last August and we couldn't be happier.  He loves all the teachers and the director, Ms. Rose, is wonderful.  She keeps us informed on anything going on at the school and came up with a plan to help our son transition into the class for his new age group after he turned three. The school updates an app throughout the day so we can see when/what our kids eat, their nap schedule and they also upload pictures of them participating in fun daily activities.  Our son has made some great friends and genuinely enjoys going to school everyday!  Some other things worth mentioning: the hours are 7:30am-5:30pm - not many schools have both an early start AND a pick up time after 5pm, they provide healthy lunches and snacks, the school is very clean and organized and they have a very reasonable holiday schedule.  This school checks so many boxes - we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring and safe environment for their little ones. read more
